00:03 This is my first time on the jury of the Indian Responsible
00:09 Tourism Awards.
00:11 And I've been deeply struck by the diversity
00:15 and enormous quality and breadth of the awards,
00:19 of the applications.
00:21 And they so represent both India and South Asia's
00:26 enormous cultural, social, economic,
00:30 and environmental diversity.
00:32 It's been a great honor to be part of the conversation.
00:36 And it's been incredibly hard work
00:38 to come up with the winners in their sections
00:41 and the final overall winner.
00:44 But it has been the most exciting and uplifting
00:48 experience, particularly in these difficult days
00:51 for tourism.
00:52 And I do really sincerely hope that the awards in themselves
00:58 in this COVID time provide some real hope and enthusiasm
01:03 and excitement.
01:05 Because as we all know, things will move on.
01:07 We will have a brighter future.
01:10 And I think the Responsible Tourism Awards
01:14 are a real reminder to the whole tourism industry
01:16 globally that we cannot go back to the same old normal.
01:20 We must have a new normal, however much
01:22 that expression has been overused in recent months.
01:27 We need to move forward.
01:28 We need to change the paradigm to a more thoughtful, more
01:32 responsible tourism paradigm.
