00:00 Hello, it has been an absolute privilege for me to be part of a very distinguished jury,
00:14 to be participating in this wonderful process that has been curated so well by the Outlook
00:24 Traveller Group.
00:27 I have been associated with this process for a few years and I know that all of us who
00:36 have worked and will continue to work in the space of responsible tourism see this process
00:44 and the awards as the ultimate recognition for some very hard work done by people who
00:50 have entered the field not for the sake of recognition but for a larger cause.
00:58 And this year too, the process and the nominations haven't disappointed us.
01:06 I was a member of a jury consisting of people who brought extremely diverse experiences
01:13 and wisdom onto the table and to be very honest, each time one gets an opportunity to go through
01:24 the experiences of people who have been working in this space and who have devoted a large
01:30 part of their lives to create models and to create these experiences.
01:36 It is a very humbling experience because I can see the effort, the sacrifice, the impact
01:45 although most of these people do not tom-tom about their contributions.
01:50 We've had some wonderful people, wonderful organizations who have been represented in
01:59 the nominations and I think if you look at common strands, I think there are several
02:04 young people who have ventured into tourism, into socially responsible tourism in the last
02:14 10 years and they have done some incredible work and I think the jury found it very easy
02:24 to have this discussion because all of us were impressed with the work.
02:29 The only difficult part was to rank them in the first, second and third positions but
02:34 I think overall this has been a very interesting experience.
02:39 The jury have selected some of the most astounding innovators in the country and who would really
02:47 be the torchbearers for responsible tourism in the country.
