00:00 In his pre-match press conference, Borough boss Michael Carrick compared this match to his side's recent win against Huddersfield in the League Cup.
00:08 Michael, you've of course progressed against Huddersfield recently in the League Cup. What differences are you expecting in this game in the Championship?
00:18 It's a different game of football, of course it is. I think where at home, the personnel throughout the team or teams will possibly be different. So it's style of play from both teams, very similar, but I think two games are never the same.
00:36 As I've already said, we know what type of team they are, how effective they can be and we need to be ready for that.
00:43 Middlesbrough won the League Cup encounter 3-2 at the John Smith Stadium, with Huddersfield's Jaheim Headley being sent off in the 13th minute of the match.
00:53 Given the fact that Middlesbrough are yet to win a league game so far, I asked Carrick on the importance of making a fast start to the match and getting the crowd right up for the occasion from the off.
01:06 Given that you're still looking for your first league win, how important is it that you get the crowd involved from the off and get them up for it and make a fast start?
01:15 Yeah, it's important. It's not desperation by any stretch. We're going to go about what we're doing and build the performance and put things into the game exactly like we would any other week.
01:26 We're not doing any different now to the weekend of the season. We've got a way of playing and we've got processes that we want to tap into to give us that chance.
01:34 It's definitely not any different how we go about this game to any other.
01:38 The Riverside crowd created a very loud atmosphere on the opening day against Millwall, but this was unable to inspire their side to victory against the South London club.
01:51 Finally, following the departure of Star Striker Tuba Akpom to Ajax and incomings of Lucas Engel and Emmanuel Latte-Laff this week, Carrick spoke about whether Middlesbrough would engage in any more transfer dealings this summer.
02:05 You've mentioned the incomings you've had this week, can we expect any more business in the transfer window?
02:11 I don't know about expect, I think it's unpredictable at times, it can be complicated. I'm not going to make a call either way, I think there is obviously work going on and we've got a plan, as I've already said, we're working towards it. We'll just have to see how it pans out over the next couple of weeks.
02:28 Following the arrival of Lucas Engel, Emmanuel Latte-Laff became Middlesbrough's ninth signing of the summer window. Michael Carrick will be hoping that they both hit the ground running in the championship.
02:41 Against former Borough boss Neil Warnock and his Huddersfield side, Michael Carrick will be hoping for his first three points of the season.
02:49 Although questions of pressure are far too early, every manager will want that first three points on the board, with Saturday providing an ideal opportunity for Middlesbrough.
