Labour has suffered one of its worst ever by-election defeats in Caerphilly, winning only eleven per cent of the vote. Plaid Cymru won with forty-seven per cent, and Reform came second with thirty-six per cent.

00:00As someone from South Wales I understand why Plaid Cymru won because Labour has had such a stronghold on the area and people feel neglected. It's disappointing that people have turned to reform instead. I'm so pleased Plaid won. Welsh Labour is different than English Labour so Keir Starmer doesn't have too much to do with it. If I was voting in England I would be voting Green so the Keir Starmer of it all doesn't really matter to me anyway.
00:30In 2024 he said Conservatives have left us with a bad deal and then he just kept on saying that, kept on talking about massive, oh he said the big hole in the economy and he just keeps on using excuses. He's not doing enough, he's not connecting with us and that's why people are looking at alternatives.
00:50I think he is but in some aspects I think there could be better people, some of the decisions that he's made but I think he has done well with what he's done so far.
