A beautifully-restored steam locomotive will depart London Paddington for Birmingham via the Cotswolds on Saturday (November 1), recreating the legendary 1965 Farewell to Steam journey that marked the end of Britain’s steam age.
The Clun Castle, built in 1950 and celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, will be the star of the show as it retraces the historic route through Swindon, Bristol Temple Meads, and Gloucester before arriving in Birmingham.
