00:02 But what I can't understand are these players, Bernard,

00:05 who are playing for their livelihood and their life.

00:08 And a lot of these players that we've seen that have been suspended for

00:10 a year are players that are fighting for a roster spot.

00:14 And to throw down a bet of 100 bucks or $200,

00:17 are they not getting the message here?

00:19 What do you think is happening?

00:21 Because I'm sure you've seen these stories as well.

00:25 I honestly believe it's one of those things where guys are just not

00:29 aware, guys are, this league is really young now.

00:35 So when you look at the veteran players, the guys that's gonna reinforce a lot of

00:39 this stuff and to make sure guys are on the right page,

00:44 everybody's on the right page to make sure guys are doing and

00:47 saying the right things when you leave the facility, when you're at the facility.

00:50 That's just not today's football.

00:55 These rosters are getting younger and younger, year in and year out.

00:59 And when you look at the betting and everything else, I'm one of the ones

01:03 where of course we knew and understood when we played in the league,

01:08 we couldn't do certain things.

01:10 Obviously we couldn't bet, we couldn't have our names in any poker tournaments or

01:13 whatever it may be.

01:14 So we understood that, but I just think right now we're in a day and

01:19 age where these young cats, they're not looking at the fine print.

01:25 They don't really understand because you don't have that veteran presence and

01:28 a lot of locker rooms.

01:30 And for the vets that are there, I think they're to the point where they're like,

01:33 we're not here to babysit.

01:35 We're here to play, to make our living and to go home.

01:40 So it's weird.

01:43 I don't think the league needs to change their rules.

01:45 It's simple.

01:47 It's simple.

01:48 It's a privilege to play this game.

01:51 It honestly is.

01:53 And whether we agree on some of the rules or not, it's a privilege.

01:57 And $100 bet to make a couple hundred dollars when you have a full five,

02:03 six, $700,000 contract, sometimes million dollar contracts on the line.

02:10 I just don't think it makes sense.

02:13 And once again, it just goes back to, these guys are young.

02:18 They're young and this is what the league wanted.

02:20 The coaches, the owners, they wanted younger players so they could pay them less.

02:24 Obviously, as the years go on, they pay them more, but

02:27 you're gonna get silly mistakes like this where these young cats don't understand.

02:33 For every consequence, there's repercussion.

02:38 And so for every decision, I should say there's a consequence and

02:42 a repercussion for it, and it's just crazy.
