00:00so let's go to the dodgers here now again andrew freeman has built a hell of a roster up here
00:04you know it'd be the first time we've seen a re a three-peat actually in baseball since those
00:10tory yankee teams and you even go back into the 70s with those oakland eight teams or reggie
00:15jackson you tell me um if you had to take a bet here the field or the dodgers to win
00:23the world
00:23series who are you taking my goodness you know i'd probably take the field because there's a lot
00:30of investment in a lot of different parts of baseball al and nl but it's not a bet i feel
00:35like you need a lot of conviction in right i mean you look at the dodgers and what they went
00:39through
00:39just with pitching injuries last year i think there was a time where they had all five starters on the
00:44il including like five bullpen pieces and they they still didn't care because they could score 10
00:49runs that's kind of who the yankees should be right just hoarding a bunch of talent having the
00:54pieces in the the minors to say hey these are expendable because we're just going to go spend
00:58free agency either way and i think ultimately that's always going to make dodgers a perennial
01:04contender and when even when you're looking at the nl picture there aren't a lot of spenders kind
01:09of like the dodgers and there's not a lot of teams with that level of talent i still feel feel
01:13like
01:13they're the best team in baseball but the field depending on what odds you give me might be appealing
01:19absolutely um hey you know dude when when you look at dave roberts the manager of the dodgers you
01:25think he's underrated you just made a comment about how he handled and if you even go into the world
01:30series and how he handled the pitching staff in the series against the blue jays you think he's one of
01:35the more underrated guys i mean he's a hall of fame manager right now look at the world series titles
01:40he's has and i mean you know you look at bruce bocci and what bocci did a couple years back
01:45and where he
01:46is right now you think he flies under the radar as the best manager in baseball
01:52i i tend to think he does and it's i think it's easy to say when you have that meant
01:56that much in
01:57terms of resources that yeah you should be performing probably at the level that he's been
02:00performing at but we saw him handle and i'd even i had to relook up his name because will klein
02:06last year when they were going into that 20 inning game or whatever it was and will klein out of
02:11nowhere is throwing 60 or 70 pitches and going deep and actually performing well that's just kind
02:17of who dave roberts has been rather like the entire time he's been in la is they've had significant
02:23injuries it's not like it's been just a breeze walk of hey you have all the talent in the world
02:28that talent has stayed healthy and then they've just underperformed but said talent no they they've
02:33had guys go on the il that they just couldn't afford to lose and then out of nowhere comes this
02:38random guy from triple a throwing fours up in the era numbers and he goes out there and shoves for
02:43the first time in his start and so i feel like at some point whether or not that's the organization
02:48or whether or not that's dave roberts's management you know delegation is a real thing who you hire as
02:54a hitting coach pitching coach etc is a real thing i think dave roberts knows how to manage talent and
02:59and that can't be overlooked in my opinion
03:00you
