00:08is just a total wagon right and the boilermakers have been impressive they're on a real heater
00:16and it's not hard to remember that they were the number one team coming into the season right
00:21like they were the preseason favorites you know much less the ap polls number one team
00:27the reason i've been so down on this boilermakers group were four games at home against elite
00:35competition and they lost all four of those games losing to iowa state losing to michigan losing to
00:43illinois losing to michigan state none of that is individually offensive but when you think about
00:49what college basketball is teams like
00:55washington or usc are like maybe we can win tonight against x team who's 10 times better than us
01:04because they're in our building purdue we're not purdue were favorites comfortably in three of four
01:12of those four games so i found that to be so disappointing jy i've not taken them as true
01:22threats pretty much all year long and i look at the side in this game and the arizona number it's

01:31it it does feel like it might be a tick high right michigan only laid four and a half in

01:38championship game you know you've been able to get purdue at six and a half for a lot of this
01:43but i'm not backing the boilermakers team in a spot like this it'll be another total game for me
01:48but i want to know where you landed on arizona purdue yeah i i am not purdue's playing better
01:58basketball but but i'm still concerned about the shooting of braden smith because i think he's got
02:04to be really good i mean he's only shooting 36 percent from three you're like right well that's
02:08also his career low and he's got to be the best version of himself and i wonder if i'm trying

02:15like peel myself back into tommy lloyd's head right when you have a dynamic point guard of his caliber
02:25you're going to either force braden smith to do one of two things either you got to let him be

02:31or you got to make him be the assist guy you can't have him be both right so they're rave

02:44line you don't let him have guys like sight lines and then you make him try and score score score
02:49himself and that's where i'm leaning on the most is braden smith's point tool over i think if i'm

03:02him get his and i'm gonna try to lock everybody else down i think that's the way i look at

03:07that is not a strategy that i think works for purdue because they don't have enough guys and
03:14create their own shot so i'm leaning uh braden smith over points because he's got a score
03:20but take arizona minus support because that strategy is going to mess up iowa's offensive
03:27flow i'm pretty sorry i'm sorry no yeah i'm you know braden smith is coming off of his best scoring
03:34effort outside of the opening round of the tournament in his college career that was the
03:40first time he scored 16 against texas it was the first time he scored at least 15 points in the
03:46round
03:46of 32 or later in his college career so we'll see how he stacks up but coaches i've been breaking
03:56this game down it's the opposite of illinois iowa i love the under here love the under here
04:04this is a full four points higher than that big 10 title game now that might be a four games

04:11days type of thing i understand that but arizona is slower than michigan and not by an insignificant
04:19margin we've also seen arizona i mean just really squeeze elite offenses we've seen that happen
04:30we know they're capable of it but what's also really important here is the way these two defenses
04:40are going to try and make the others score right i think arizona is going to try and make purdue
04:46live outside and lawyer can shoot smith can shoot but this tournament's been defined by getting the
04:54ball inside to kaufman ran and some oscar club and that that's not going to come easy it's just not
05:00and then on the other side of it this arizona team while being unbelievably efficient they
05:10they they don't like shooting threes it's not who they are purdue's entire defensive identity jy is
05:18like you we're not going to let let it be easy for you to score on us on the interior
