The death of a woman waited up to nine hours for a bed in the Launceston General Hospital's Emergency Department has again highlighted dysfunction in Tasmania's public health system.

Health unions say challenges like bed-block and ambulance ramping have reached unacceptable levels.... Tasmania's Premier is vowing improvements...but says the Federal Government must also step up to solve the problem.
