00:00Residents bunkered down as wild weather whipped across Western Australia's
00:07Gascoyne, uprooting trees across many coastal towns.
00:11And yesterday, roads north of Cowberry were closed to prevent anyone from entering those
00:17warning zones.
00:18And although Tropical Cyclone Mitchell, which at one stage was a Category 3 system, has
00:24weakened, it's left quite a bit of a mess.
00:27But many residents in the region are actually breathing a sigh of relief.
00:32And today, this system will continue to weaken as it moves further inland south.
00:38And many farmers on pastoral properties are really hoping that Mitchell delivers much needed
00:43rain to these dry areas.
00:45As cleanup continues in the northwest, authorities have warned that flash flooding could occur
00:51across the Gascoyne.
