One Nation is most likely to perform best in the bush, where frustration at the status quo is growing over new mines and renewable energy.

00:00It may be 10 months until the state election, but the campaign for the hearts and minds
00:06is well and truly on.
00:07Thanks for being here today.
00:09One Nation's prize recruit leading the charge into Western Victoria.
00:13Once they know that you're prepared to change, they will start to panic.
00:19Angry Farmers United, fertile ground for a party amplifying grievance.
00:23I'm looking for change.
00:25I'm sick of the leaders of this country sending us down the tube, to be honest.
00:29I think they're gaining lots of traction.
00:31We're all sick and tired and fed up.
00:33A new alliance of rural concerns, railing against renewable energy, transmission lines, emergency
00:38service taxes and mining on farms.
00:42The Premier didn't front the conference, neither did Jess Wilson, but her colleagues did.
00:46The national support for mining angering the crowd.
00:49He literally worked in that case, that project was not there.
00:54Labor and coalition MPs and strategists all say that One Nation will change the dynamic
00:59of this election.
01:00Liberals in particular say they are alive to the threat, but aren't spooked.
01:04Our realistic goal, look, we want to see more bums on seats.
01:07The party already has one MP in the upper house.
01:09Rikki Lee Tyrrell says it will field candidates in every seat in November and has 400 applications
01:14to stand.
01:15But the policy offering is bare.

01:24We stick to it.
01:25We don't try to become Labor-like.
01:26We don't try to keep up with the Joneses on the other side of the fence.
01:30We stick to it.
01:31Those who are choosing to support One Nation have given up on the system.
01:34So they don't care what One Nation's policies look like.
01:37And that's hard to campaign against.
01:38They will disrupt the Liberal Party's campaigns in areas like Pakenham, Bass, Hastings.
01:43These are seats that the Liberal Party wants to win.
01:46They will disrupt Labor's campaign in Melton potentially, but again, they might actually cannibalise
01:51the Liberal Party got it out there more.
01:53With the coalition needing to win at least 16 seats to win office, it can't afford to
01:57lose any ground.
01:59One Nation can cheer and throw rocks from the sidelines, but they will not do anything.
02:04A fight on multiple fronts.
02:06What do you want me to do?
02:07Do you want me to be breaking the song?
