00:00A sleepless night in Exmouth as tropical cyclone Mitchell skirted around the Pilbara coast.
00:09I woke up a few times to the generator and the wind and the crashing but yeah it was a crazy night but we got through it.
00:16It could have been a lot worse because yesterday it was looking like a three, possibly even going to a four someone said.
00:22Wind gusts reaching up to 110 kilometres an hour.
00:26It was certainly noisy, certainly loud and for a lot of the town that had no power, being in the dark and listening to that, it's always pretty hair raising.
00:34Most areas spared from the worst of the cyclone with power now restored to hundreds of homes.
00:40You can see there has been some damage from the cyclone but not really much. I'm very happy to have friends here to help me clean it all up.
00:48Some of us have lived here forever and gone through a lot. There's a lot of locals that this was their first experience
00:53and you can only imagine how nervous they would have been during the night.
00:57In Onslow, the clean up is well underway.
01:00There's definitely a few trees and stuff down, leaves everywhere but yeah I think the town got pretty lucky with all the damage.
01:07While the system has dropped in intensity, a major concern now is the intense rainfall it's expected to bring.
01:14Anywhere close to the path of this system, particularly as it moves over land, may get intense rainfall over a six hour period of 50 or 60 millimetres,
01:23which is enough to produce some flash flooding.
01:26The system is expected to track south towards Carnarvon, moving further inland before weakening to a tropical low on Tuesday.
01:34Now that the cyclone has passed, many Exmouth residents and visitors will just be waiting for these main arterial roads in and out of town to open.
01:42And Main Road says it will open the roads when it's safe to do so.
01:46The city is open to its local businesses.
01:52They're not allowed to find out the air崩壊 in or out of town.
01:56And that's a huge breach of this system.
01:58The area is when in a little of the air崩壊 in and out of the air崩壊.
02:02The area is a large breach of this system.
02:05And it's where the water's all mapped out from the air崩壊 in.
02:08And here are the two aspects of the air崩壊 in.
