Colombia: Timochenko Tweets Rejection of Santos’ Dictate

Timoleon Jimenez (Timochenko) has tweeted a reply to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos’ announcement that a referendum to approve or reject a final peace agreement with the FARC guerrillas will definitely be held next year. The FARC leader said that the Colombian Congress should not be able to change the terms of any peace agreements reached in the Havana talks. The FARC has consistently argued against the mechanism of a referendum on the grounds that it is not legally binding and would give Congress too much power to change parts of the agreement. teleSUR
