00:08The award was presented to Brazilian MST activists Nivea Regina de Silva and Marcelo Durao.
00:15For more than four decades, the MST has been a force in the struggle for social justice,
00:20agrarian reform, and the sovereignty of the peoples, showcasing a steady activism and
00:25making solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and its people that has been unconditional and present since the movement's very founding.
00:31During the ceremony, the President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People, Fernando González Llort,
00:37highlighted the careers of the activists, noting the award reaffirmed the bond of brotherhood between the MST and Cuba
00:44serving as a tribute to more than 40 years of shared history, militant solidarity, and true internationalism.
00:58Marcelo and Nivea have done something extraordinary between 2021 and 2026,
01:04during the toughest years, when we needed it most.
01:09They delivered more than 70 metric tons of grain and vegetable seeds to our country through the MCT.
01:17These are not just numbers, they are dreams taking root.
01:20They are hands-sowing sovereignty.
01:24They donated machinery for planting and harvesting cassava.
01:28And over the past year, more than eight metric tons of medicines for our hospitals.
01:35This has been the channel through which the MCT has demonstrated its material solidarity with Cuba.
01:43You have woven networks of brotherhood with the Communist Party of Cuba,
01:48with the National Association of Small Farmers,
01:51with the Martin Luther King Center,
01:54with the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples,
01:57and with the Union of Communist Youth.
01:59You have demonstrated that internationalism is not an empty word.
