Tabare Vazquez from the ruling left-wing Broad Alliance (FA) was sworn in Sunday as president of Uruguay. His predecessor, Jose Mujica, was from the same party. In an address to the nation, Vazquez vowed to make security a chief concern and announced that a Truth and Justice working group would be established to investigate the crimes committed by the the 1970s military dictatorship. teleSUR
