Gov't issued ID to include gay unions

The civil status of same-sex couples in Ecuador will appear on government issued ID cards as of Sept. 15. President Rafael Correa made the announcement on Saturday, at the same time indicating this did not mean the legalization of gay marriage in the country. LGBT activists say the measure is ambiguous.
