00:33And Hurricane Melissa remains a Category 4 storm as it moves through the Central Caribbean Sea toward Jamaica and Cuba.
00:50Hello and welcome to Front the South from the headquarters of Treasure English in Havana, Cuba. My name is Pablo Micheliche. We begin with the news.
00:59Venezuela denounced the government of Trinidad and Tobago for orchestrating a military provocation plan, a meta destabilizing the Caribbean, in alliance with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
01:10The strategy, as outlined in the executive report, appears to be a deliberate attempt to create a justification for military aggression against Venezuela.
01:19This would represent a blatant violation of the Caribbean people's sovereignty and peace.
01:24In this context, the Venezuelan authorities urge the international community to maintain a firm stance against the interventionist actions of the United States against the countries of the region,
01:36which, under the excuse of combating drug trafficking, have attacked fishing boats from various Caribbean countries.
01:43The denunciation emphasizes Venezuela's willingness to defend its territorial integrity and its self-determination in the face of a new U.S. interventionist maneuver.
02:03In Colombia, electoral authorities have made preliminary results public, declaring Senator Iván Cepeda as the winner of Sunday's primaries for the historic pact.
02:13With 64.02% of the votes and a 34-point lead over Diana Corcho, who got over 29% of the votes,
02:22Senator Iván Cepeda-Castro has emerged as the historic pact candidate for the 2026 general elections.
02:28The historic pact party is a coalition made up of the Democratic Party, the Patriotic Union, Colombia's Communist Party and other political forces.
02:38Cepeda has vowed to continue to adhere to the austerity and ethical principles that have brought him here,
02:45and he invited the other candidates to join him in his effort to install a second progressive administration in Colombia to make Colombia a global power force.
02:58The historic pact is undoubtedly the largest, most powerful, and most influential political force in the country today.
03:13Not only because of this quantitative electoral demonstration, but fundamentally because it has made a commitment to democracy.
03:24We have shown that we are an essentially democratic force, that we do not fear democracy,
03:34and that we have measured ourselves at the polls with the citizens.
03:41The historic pact is undoubtedly the largest, most powerful, and most influential political force in the country today.
03:53The Brazilian government stated that between January and August of this year, soybean exports to China reached a value of 77 million metric tons amid the tariff war imposed by the United States.
04:06Experts point out that since the start of the tariff war declared on several countries by the Trump administration,
04:12the trade in grains and legumes between Brazil and the Asian giant has experienced a notable increase.
04:19Livio Ribeiro, associate researcher at the IBRE Study Center of the Getulio Vargas Foundation and the University of Rio de Janeiro,
04:27states that at this time of year, Brazilian soybeans become one of the main items of trade between the two countries.
04:35Cooperation between the two countries in the face of U.S. sanctions demonstrates their willingness to develop ties independent of the United States and Germany.
04:52China won't buy from the United States due to the price. Since it's more expensive there, this tariff barrier opens an opportunity for us here.
04:59So we must be very attentive to these moments. We should try to make future sales for the delivery of the next harvest, taking advantage of these moments when we have a good price.
05:08Unfortunately, today we are in a situation where the price has not yet reached this result for us, producers, but it should arrive at any moment.
05:20In Mexico, thousands of people in vibrant costumes and school-like makeup gathered for Mexico City's annual Catrinas Parade, a tribute to one of the country's most iconic symbols of the Day of the Dead.
05:33The mega procession of Catrinas has been held in Mexico City since 2014 and has established itself as one of the most emblematic celebrations of the Day of the Dead,
05:43bringing together thousands of participants and spectators every year to pay tribute to this iconic figure of Mexican culture.
05:51Traditionally, the Catrinas is a skeleton often dressed in elegant clothing that has turned into a symbol of the country's annual celebration.
06:00The official holiday will begin on October 21st, remembering those who died in accidents, and it will continue on November 1st to recall those who died in childhood,
06:10and then on November 2, we will celebrate those who died as adults.
06:15A parade like this can definitely show part of the essence of being Mexican, which is joyful, colorful, maximalist, kind, loving, fun, talented, very talented, here is full of talent, and, well, I think that is our essence.
06:36It is a very beautiful tradition. It is something that makes us Mexico, it makes us a country with many traditions and customs,
06:46which we should not lose, and we should continue to have them year after year. It is a very beautiful experience.
06:51And now we have a show break coming up.

07:06Welcome back. On Sunday in the capital city of Victoria, Patrick Herminie was sworn in as the head of the state of the Republic of Seychelles.
07:24The day was accompanied by popular celebrations, and Monday was declared a national holiday by the outgoing government in recognition of the transfer of power.
07:33As a seasoned public servant and former medical doctor, the 62-year-old Herminie won the presidency in the second round of voting, with 52.7% of the vote, as announced by the electoral commission of Seychelles, on October 12.
07:49Representing the United Seychelles Party, Herminie previously served as a speaker of the National Assembly from 2007 to 2016.
07:59During the inauguration, the new president vowed to unite the nation, improve the quality of life for citizens through pragmatic policies, and pursue a path of sustainable development for the island nation.
08:11Okay.
08:12Hello.
08:13Welcome back.
08:14Welcome back.
08:15Welcome back.
08:16Welcome back.
08:17Welcome back.
08:18Welcome back.
08:19This is your name at theowy markets.
08:20We've got several different sources of the country and the whole army.
08:22Hello?
08:23Welcome back.
08:24Welcome back.
08:25Hurricane Melissa remains a Category 4 storm as it moves through the Central Caribbean Sea towards Jamaica and Cuba.
08:34In this regard, according to the latest report, Melissa has maximum sustained winds of 239 km per hour, while its central pressure has reportedly decreased.
08:44The hurricane, which is travelling westward at just 7 km per hour, is expected to move near or over Jamaica early on Tuesday before traversing Cuba into the southeastern Bahamas during the course of Wednesday.
08:58In this context, in Jamaica, several coastal areas have been put under evacuation orders, while the international airport in Kingston closed late on Saturday along with all seaports.
09:09Melissa is the 13th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, and it is forecast that in the next 24 hours Melissa could become a Category 5 hurricane.
09:26Amidst the difficult situation facing eastern Cuba as Hurricane Melissa approaches, authorities are calling on people not to let their guard down.
09:34Our correspondent Jordanis Rodriguez reports from Holguin province.
09:39The President of the Provincial Defense Council in Holguin, Joel Caipo Ruiz, issued a call to the population in light of the imminent impact of Hurricane Melissa.
09:50All forecast models agree, Holguin will be hard hit from Tuesday night through Wednesday noon by a hurricane of great intensity.
09:57We will be hit by all the effects of an event of this type, which involves heavy rain, strong winds, and high waves.
10:07Some of which will be of a magnitude never before seen in recent times, such as the estimate that more than 500 millimeters of water may fall. Therefore, we must prepare for these conditions.
10:20Joel Caipo Ruiz, insisted that it is necessary to raise risk awareness. People cannot be allowed to remain near rivers, reservoirs, or coastal areas. It is essential to evacuate, all people in danger now. What is not done today will be regretted tomorrow.
10:41People are preparing and we are all paying close attention to all the news and all the media, and nothing. Cubans know how to deal with all these problems, and we are going to get through this, we will get through all of this without any problems.
10:56And there is no need to wait for more instructions, the instructions that have been given are for everyone to contribute and chop down all the trees around their homes and houses. What is being done in other countries has been followed. There is fear because the world says it is going to happen. Everyone says that it is very likely to happen.
11:15These days, well, everything has been prepared for the passage of Melisa, which is very strong. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to purchase gasoline for the power plants because we always use the plant to serve our neighbors as well. And I believe that we have to be prepared, not be confident, and most importantly, preserve human lives.
11:34The rescue and salvage brigades of the Revolutionary Armed Forces in the Eastern Army are ready to deal with any emergency and support the population in the territories. Production processes at the Commander Ernesto Guevara Nickel Factory are being gradually shut down.
11:53The Commander Pedro Soto Alba Joint Venture is reducing its production capacity and participating in the clean-up of defense zones. The call to the population is clear. You will work long hours. You will save lives. Holguen faces the moment of ultimate danger, as does the entire East.
12:10We move on now to Spain. In Andalusia, thousands of people are mobilizing to demand the resignation of the president of the regional government, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, in a demonstration with the slogan, Our Life Cannot Wait.
12:30Our colleague, Lucia Muñoz, reports from Andalusia.
12:33Andalusia takes to the streets to demand the resignation of the president of the regional government, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, of the Popular Party, following failures in the breast cancer screening system that have affected more than 2,400 women since 2021.
12:51Beatriz has breast cancer and denounces the lack of early detection protocols for young women, as these tests are only performed on women aged 50 and over.
12:59I always say that, the sooner it is done, the better. Detection must be early. Screenings cannot be at age 50. We have to lower the age for early detection because that is the most important thing, it is equivalent to life. When a tumor is detected, we have a better chance of survival.
13:18Cati, diagnosed with lymphoma, has traveled from Malaga to join the protest organized by AMAMA, the Association of Women with Breast Cancer, which in September revealed these cases of negligence. The organization attributes this situation to cuts and a lack of resources in Andalusian public healthcare, under the Popular Party government.
13:39Just like the rest of Spain, we deserve to have public healthcare and decent healthcare and healthcare that cares about us. They can't let us die. There are many people dying of cancer. In hospitals, I come from Malaga, and the cancer hospital in Malaga is not open, it is ready but not equipped.
13:58The privatization of Andalusian healthcare moves forward. More than 1 million people are on waiting lists, according to the Andalusian Health Service. The difficulty in getting an appointment in less than 48 hours has overwhelmed emergency rooms, according to the Andalusian White Tides.
14:17We do not want public funds, which are not insignificant, to be allocated to private healthcare. We do not want our healthcare to be used for profit. Public healthcare is sacrosanct, and from here I would like to say to Mr. Marino Benilla, who recently said that public healthcare is unviable, that the only thing unviable here is you, and your PP government, in the Andalusian Regional Government.
14:42Under the slogan, Our Lives Cannot Wait, Amama asserts that there are more than the 2,400 recognized victims, and has filed complaints regarding failures in screening and the deletion of mammograms.

15:30Welcome back.
15:31At least four people have been killed in Cameroon's largest city, Douala, as police and opposition protesters clashed ahead of the announcement of presidential election results.
15:51The clashes occurred after hundreds of supporters of opposition candidate Isa Chiroma, who claims to have defeated President Paul Villa in the recent elections, defied the ban on protest, and gathered in the streets of Douala.
16:05The protesters blocked roads, burned tires, threw rocks and other projectiles at police in response to their repressive and silencing policies carried out by police forces in the face of the peaceful beginnings of the demonstration.
16:19The minister of territorial administration, Paul Atanga NG said on Saturday that arrests had been made in connection with what he described as an insurrectional movement, although he did not specify how many people had been arrested.
16:34The governor arrived.
16:59In Jordan, the 14th group of patients from the Gaza Strip arrived on Sunday under the Jordanian Medica Corridor Initiative.
17:06This latest group includes 34 patients and 78 companions who will receive treatment in Jordanian hospitals before returning to Gaza once their care is complete.
17:16The initiative, launched in March, aims to support Palestinians and ease their humanitarian suffering.
17:22Since its launch, Jordan has received 266 patients from Medica treatment.
17:27In February, King Abdullah II announced that Jordan was ready to receive up to 2,000 Palestinian patients from Gaza for treatment.
17:45My leg was blown off. It happened while I was fleeing. My house was also destroyed in the war.
17:57Both of my houses are gone. 18 members of my family were killed, including my children and grandchildren.
18:11Only two of my granddaughters survived. One was hit in the head by shrapnel. She was gravely injured and lost her sight.
18:18Despite multiple violations by Israel, the agreement organized by U.S. President Donald Trump remains in force in the Gaza Strip.
18:28But experts in Turkey have criticized everything from participation in the conference to the content of the agreement and its regional implications.
18:38Details from our correspondent in Istanbul, Yunus Soner.
18:40Negotiations began when Israel failed to achieve its objectives, explains Alptek Endersenoglu, an expert from the resistance axis.
18:52Since October 7th, Israel has had three objectives, to free the hostages, destroy Hamas' military infrastructure and establish its order in Gaza.
19:01Despite two years of genocide and Western support, they have not achieved this.
19:04The negotiation process, first in Washington, and then in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, has a global context.
19:22With the start of the war in 2023, China, Russia, and Iran took the initiative.
19:27China was mediating between Palestinian groups and even expressed its support for Yemen.
19:31Iran itself fought Israel in the 12-day war.
19:34Now we see that the West and Israel are purposely excluding these powers from the negotiations.
19:39Therefore, we see that Trump's peace plan is entirely built on the framework of Atlantic plans.
19:46The 20 points announced by Trump are, therefore, a plan to eliminate the Palestinian cause, argues Gokhan Gossman.
19:54The root of the conflict lies in the two-state solution, that is, the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state.
20:02Nothing is said about a Palestinian state in this plan.
20:08Gokhan Gossman emphasizes that Jared Kushner, married to Trump's daughter, was one of the authors of the plan.
20:16Beyond Gaza, Kushner supports Israel's annexation of the West Bank and is investing there.
20:21As a result, Trump's plan eliminates Palestinian actors, disarming Hamas and excluding it from any political process.
20:30Under the guise of the Peace Council, whose members will be appointed outside of Palestinian will,
20:34Mahmoud Abbas' administration will be given only the role of coordinating the Palestinian people within this council.
20:40The will of the Palestinian people will be ignored, leaving them without a state.
20:43Hamas' sız bir Gazze hayal ediliyor, Donald Trump.
20:46Los expertos tienen dudası Hamas...
20:48Experts have doubts about whether Hamas will lay down its arms, but they are certain that this so-called Pax Americana is only the precursor to new wars.
20:56Lübnan'a da olabilir. Lübnan'la ilgili olabiliyor.
20:58Israel may have packed Lebanon.
21:00In recent days, tensions have increased very openly.
21:03They have just finished manoeuvres on the border.
21:05For a ground operation that reaches the Litani River in Lebanon,
21:08they have to end the war in Gaza and move forces from there.
21:10The expert also warns of possible Israeli attacks against the resistance in Iraq, or directly against Iran.
21:22Parencek places Trump's agreement in a regional context.
21:27We see that the United States is seeking to regain the regional initiative.
21:31It has launched the so-called Trump route in the South Caucasus, and is seeking to redesign Syria.
21:35We are facing a plan by which the United States wants to reorder an entire geography.
21:39But we are in transition to a multi-polar world, where the United States and Israel lack the power to carry out all their plans.
21:48Experts consider that Trump's plan has many weak points,
21:53and agree that, for a Palestinian state, Eurasian influence will be key instead of this plan.
21:58In Belgium, a photo exhibition in Brussels is drawing attention to the dark conditions faced by children in Gaza,
22:08with graphic images and soul-steering sounds that have left visitors heart-wrenching.
22:13Let's see more.
22:14The exhibition, organized jointly by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund,
22:22the European Union, and the Belgian authorities, aims to draw more attention to the children of the Gaza Strip,
22:29during the current conflict.
22:30Beyond the visuals, the exhibition includes audio recordings from Gaza,
22:38such as the clatter of pots and pans as children queue for food,
22:41immersing visitors in the harsh reality faced by children in Gaza.
22:45I think it's very terrible.
22:49You see that people are suffering,
22:51and I think the world is not looking to do all the pain they have.
22:57And I think the whole world has to support Palestine.
23:03We all have to do something for the people there.
23:06As today, the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is increasingly fragile,
23:13as it remains difficult to deliver large volumes of humanitarian aid,
23:18and the humanitarian crisis on the ground remains severe.
23:21According to recent data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip,
23:26the number of deaths since the start of Israeli attacks on October 7, 2023,
23:31has risen to 68,234.
23:36And we have come to the end of this news.
