00:00Hello YouTube, Dave here again. Welcome back to another Replica belt review video. Today I am super excited because a belt that I've been waiting years for has finally released and I picked this up the second it actually went on the WWE shop.
00:24What was interesting about it is that it actually hit the Canadian website before it hit the US website, which I thought was kind of odd, but I'm totally okay with that. I was able to get this literally day one, like I was refreshing the shop feed every couple of hours, like since WrestleMania, waiting for this to be announced.
00:44So this is going to be the WWE Big Eagle Version 2. So in this video, not only am I going to be showing off the Version 2 Replica, but I'm also going to be comparing it to the Version 1, which mine is modified.
01:00Like I've done a lot of paint, repainting of my Version 1, but the overall features are still going to be, you know, the same.
01:08So I think it'll be still a good comparison. And I'm going to compare this to the block logo Big Eagle because I think there's been some changes between the plates on the new Version 2 and even that block logo Big Eagle,
01:23which is still one of my all-time favorite, not only one of my all-time favorite title designs, but one of my all-time favorite replicas in my collection.
01:30So we'll start with the belt bag here, which is kind of like a satiny top part.
01:35It has the WWE logo, the Attitude, the WWE Championship Version 2, and unlike a lot of the newer belts that will have, like the center plate on the belt bag,
01:47this has the Raw is War and the original, like the old-school 1999 SmackDown logo.
01:55So that is just plain awesome. A really nice belt bag, but we're not here to look at the belt bag.
02:01We're here to look at the belt, and I'm doing something a little bit different this time.
02:04So, as you can see, the belt is face down. And the reason for that is I literally just got this.
02:11I literally just got it out of the box, got all of the, got all of the plastic and stuff off of it, but I haven't even looked at it yet.
02:21So this is going to be my actual, like, genuine first thoughts at looking at this belt.
02:28But we can take a moment to look at the backing here.
02:31We do have the blue patch saying, you know, official authentic Replica Championship title.
02:37It does have this really nice blue suede backing.
02:41And we'll talk about that in a moment because this Version 2 replica is similar to the dual-plated Winged Eagle,
02:50which was a kind of a hybrid of a few different iterations of that title design.
02:55This one is too, but you can already kind of see, like, the curve on this thing.
03:01Yeah, the suede backing feels really, really nice.
03:04So let's go ahead and flip this over and take a look for the first time.
03:14Oh, yeah. Oh, my. Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
03:20Okay, so this is my first Big Eagle replica that actually has the globe proper.
03:24The other two that I have both have this quadrant here, like, completely sticking out.
03:32The paint is a little thick on the globe, though, I will say, compared to the blue Big Eagle,
03:37where the paint's a lot thinner.
03:40So this is, like, right up to the lines, which is a bit unfortunate, but still not bad.
03:46You know, maybe one of these days I'll get brave and try to remove the paint stuff from it,
03:51but I'm not in a huge hurry to do that.
03:54But, yeah, oh, my God, the center plate looks absolutely fantastic.
03:58And this is one of the things that I find a lot of bootleg belt makers kind of do wrong
04:05is, well, we actually have, uh-oh, I think there was actually some padding there.
04:14It's getting stuck behind the, there we go.
04:21So they actually have a little bit of padding, similar to the blue Big Eagle did as well.
04:28But a lot of belt makers, the thing that they seem to get wrong is that they make the center plate circular to begin with,
04:33and then they put this huge curve on it, which is not the way that the belt,
04:39the belt is actually an oval shape, but when it's curved, it looks circular.
04:44And I've seen so many where it looks like it's almost like, um, it just kind of comes up like, it's ridiculous.
04:51Like, it looks like it was wrapped around like a, like a flagpole or something.
04:56It's, you know, always got like ridiculous curves on the, no, not all of them,
04:59but I've seen quite a few that just, you know, make the plate circular and then curve the crap out of it.
05:05But yeah, this is actually, it is wider than it is tall.
05:09So it's not circular, it is oval, but man, this thing looks absolutely fantastic.
05:17All right, let's go over the, uh, the side plates and the strap and everything here.
05:22So we do have the no stitching.
05:25We've got the actual snap box there.
05:27Uh, there's no texture or anything in there.
05:29The original belts had a slight texture to it.
05:33It wasn't like overly tooled like the Reggie Parks ones were,
05:36but I mean, I still like the blank look myself personally.
05:39And then for the side plates, we've got the shield with the WWE logo.
05:45And you can see that it's actually got quite a bit of texturing in there.
05:48The texturing is a lot more noticeable than the, uh, the blue Big Eagle.
05:54And there's even texturing, uh, going around the rope border there.
05:58Next, we've got the lion holding the shield.
06:01We've got the lion holding the shield with the Van Family Crest.
06:05We've got the same shield side plate and the property plate there.
06:09And yeah, I mean, this is, oh, man, it's got the white, the white scratch logo there,
06:16which is really, really nice.
06:18It was one of the things that I was considering doing with my Big Eagle that I spent work, like, modifying.
06:23Um, but I couldn't find white testers enamel paint.
06:26It was, like, the hardest thing in the world to find.
06:29So, I'd already painted everything by then.
06:31But, that's going to work out because it'll help me with, uh, my evolution of the WWE Championship, uh, video that I'll be doing soon.
06:40Also, the strap on this thing is really, it's kind of, I don't know how well it's going to show here,
06:45but it's really, like, floppy.
06:47It just hangs down, uh, when you pick it up.
06:51So, it's one of the nicest straps on, uh, some of these replicas.
06:55Like, it reminds me a lot of the, uh, Undisputed title that I have, the, uh, the Cody Rhodes one.
07:00That has a really amazing strap.
07:02The Winged Eagle belts have an amazing strap.
07:04Even the blue block logo Big Eagle has a nice strap.
07:07But, this one is even more flexible, uh, than that.
07:10Now, with this being a curved belt, uh, it is going to put indentations in the strap.
07:16Um, but the real belt did that too.
07:19So, I know some people aren't happy with that or they don't like that about the belt.
07:22But, the Winged Eagle, the sidebars, um, on, like, the, uh, the horizontal sidebars on the Winged Eagle also dug into the strap.
07:32So, it's, you know, it's just the way that these belts really were.
07:36So, it's actually, you know, an accurate thing, uh, to television.
07:40Now, we do have the, uh, the sidebars here.
07:42But, this is all one piece.
07:44Like, the, uh, the actual Scratch logo Big Eagle belt was.
07:48So, again, that's pretty cool, uh, attention to detail there.
07:51Now, the shoulders of the Eagle are not textured on this version.
07:56So, uh, the, that's, you know, again, one of the interesting things about this version of the Winged Eagle is it's actually kind of a hybrid.
08:07So, it has aspects of several different, uh, versions or a couple of different versions of the, uh, the, the Scratch logo Big Eagle.
08:15And I think that if you're, you know, like, there's, it might be a little too pedantic to have the gold Scratch logo with, like, the textured shoulders on the Eagle and the, the, the white Scratch logo with the untextured, uh, Eagle shoulders, um, to have, like, just the, the variety or the different variants.
08:36Like, I could see for inventory purposes that might be a little bit overkill.
08:40So, I don't have a problem with, like, the hybrid version.
08:43So, uh, what makes this similar to the, uh, the original, uh, so the Big Eagle belt that Triple H won in 1999, uh, after, uh, the day after Survivor, or SummerSlam 1999.
08:56That did have the, uh, the blue suede backing, but it was a gold Scratch logo, uh, Big Eagle belt.
09:03I think his original version also had, uh, texture in the Eagle's shoulders.
09:09I'm not entirely sure about that.
09:12Uh, I know that, like, the, uh, the Survivor Series 98 version did have texturing in the shoulders, but I'm not entirely sure if the, uh, if the Triple H one, the initial Triple H one, had texturing in the shoulders or not.
09:26I know that he had a later version that had just the black backing on it, uh, and that one did not have texturing kind of in the recessed area of the Eagle's shoulders there.
09:38Um, but the white Scratch logo, uh, was, like, the, uh, the 2000, like, the 2K, uh, version, uh, and this was the version that was used right up until, uh, the debut of the original Undisputed Championship.
09:51So, it has the blue suede backing of the original, like, of the Triple H, uh, 99, Summer of 99, uh, you know, backing, but it has the white Scratch logo of, like, the, the year 2000, and might have even been late, late year 2000, and it's, like, 2001, when they were using the, uh, the white Scratch logo.
10:13But, yeah, this is just an absolutely fantastic-looking belt.
10:17The texture is really nice, and the thing that I, I like about this is that, like, the texture on the shields are very noticeable.
10:25Here, we'll get a better shot here.
10:27I'm kind of looking at it myself.
10:29Uh, it's really noticeable in person.
10:31Uh, it's kind of hard, like, with the, uh, with the light on it, like, really emphasizes it.
10:36But they didn't overdo it.
10:38Like, I've seen some where, like, the texturing is so pronounced that it's actually kind of distracting.
10:44So, I'm glad that, you know, they made it a bit stronger-looking for, you know, people that complained about the blue, uh, Big Eagle.
10:52But I'm glad that it didn't go so overboard that it's, like, it kind of takes away from the rest of, like, the shield design.
10:59Uh, so, yeah, really, really cool-looking.
11:00So, what we're going to do now is we're going to compare this to version 2.
11:04I'm just going to slide this up here.
11:05And we're going to compare it to my version 1.
11:13So, we're going to get to see some pretty big differences right away.
11:16Now, keep in mind, I did repaint this belt.
11:21So, you know, it's the, uh, the color of the globe, which is interesting.
11:25The color of the globe, it looks a lot darker on the, the, the camera here than it actually is in person.
11:30And that's kind of the point, like, with this, uh, with this paint color, is that, like, this is the, uh, the turquoise, uh, testers enamel paint.
11:39And the real belts had the enamel, like, the testers, or maybe not testers, but it had, like, the, uh, it had, um, the turquoise color is what I was trying to.
11:53I don't know why I was messing up my words there, but it actually had, like, the turquoise, uh, paint on it.
11:58And you could see that in certain pictures, but, um, with the, you know, CRT televisions and the arena lighting and the angles that the belts were being held at, uh, it made the globes look darker than they are.
12:11So I can confidently say that the image that I'm seeing on my phone is the, the blue is a lot darker looking than it actually is in front of me.
12:21But, uh, we'll take a look at some of the differences here.
12:23So we do have the WWE Champion, uh, tooling on the belt, which stops when it gets to the main plate versus on the Version 2, where it's just the WWE logo.
12:40It doesn't have the word Champion underneath, which, again, I think is more accurate.
12:43And it goes all the way across the top and bottom of the belt.
12:46It no longer just stops at the center plate there.
12:50Uh, the shields on the Version 1 had no texturing whatsoever.
12:53They were just completely flat.
12:55So I painted them in black just so that they kind of looked a little bit more, um, just visually appealing because having just like the, the no texturing at all, uh, just having like the flat, uh, background to the shield, just, it looked like something was missing.
13:11So I did repaint those, but you can also see there's no texturing in the, uh, in the rope border area either, which is what we have on the, uh, the Big Eagle, uh, Version 2 there.
13:23And, of course, we've got the sewn on snap boxes.
13:27Uh, we do have the screws, uh, visible here on the back, whereas the Version 2, of course, it has the blue suede backing that covers the screws.
13:36And, of course, the biggest difference is the fact that this thing is completely flat.
13:42So this belt, I'm almost positive, like the early replica belts, like the Figures Inks and, you know, the early WWE shop belts, uh, they were made to basically be nothing but display pieces.
13:55And I think that they completely underestimated, uh, how much, you know, wrestling fans wanted the belts to look right and how much, like, they wanted the curves because the real belts had the curve plates.
14:11And I, I really think they just thought that this is something that you would put, like, on a shelf or, like, hang on your wall and that would be it.
14:17And for some people, that is what they do.
14:18Now, myself, personally, I love to handle my belts.
14:22Like, I, you know, when I'm watching pay-per-views, I like to have a belt with me.
14:27You know, if I'm watching wrestling in general, I just, I like to handle, uh, the, uh, the wrestling belts.
14:34So they're not just something that's just going to go on a shelf and never be touched, never be, you know, interacted with beyond just owning and looking at.
14:42Like, I like to physically interact with my belts.
14:44Uh, so having, like, the curved, the properly curved plates, um, you know, having it look more, uh, TV accurate that way is definitely a big thing.
14:53So, and, of course, you can also see that this one has the, uh, the gold scratch logo there, whereas the, the version 2 has the, the white scratch.
15:03So it's actually, uh, recessed so that the scratch logo is actually, like, etched into the plate so that you could put paint in there.
15:11Versus the version 1, where it's, um, just all raised up from the, uh, from the background there.
15:17So you wouldn't be able to paint, you can paint it white, um, but it doesn't have, like, it's not as, gonna be as clean looking because this one here is actually designed to have, like, the, uh, the sides raised up of the, the W's.
15:31But the inside is going to be, uh, etched in so that you can put the, uh, so you can put the paint in.
15:36Similar to how they do it on, like, the side plates and stuff.
15:39Uh, so yeah, so really, really cool.
15:41The version 1, this was a really fantastic replica, uh, for the time.
15:46I did, you know, I do love this belt.
15:48Uh, I am going to be selling it, though, to a buddy of mine, uh, to offset, um, you know, picking up this new one.
15:54Uh, but this was a replica that I, I loved for years, and, you know, I, I'm, you know, it definitely had, uh, a place in my collection.
16:03But, at the end of the day, this is the version that I wanted all along.
16:07So, uh, we're gonna go with that.
16:09And, of course, you can all see the globe has the, uh, the little piece sticking out there, uh, where that's actually been corrected.
16:15Uh, it also has the, uh, the, where the Alaska is, also looks like it's been corrected.
16:21And it doesn't just go all the way across, it has, like, the little indentation there.
16:25So, uh, yeah, really cool stuff.
16:27The, actually, even the little side globes, uh, have some differences to them there.
16:31So, on the original, uh, North and South America are not attached.
16:34And here, uh, they actually are.
16:38And for, like, Africa, Europe, and Asia, uh, just a little bit more detail there.
16:43It looks a little crisper.
16:44And it actually has, like, the, uh, the island, what's it, Madagascar?
16:48Uh, but it has the island off the side of, uh, Africa there, which is not on, which is not on the version one of the Big Scratch logo.
16:55So, kind of cool to see there.
16:57So, that's the comparison between the version one and the version two.
17:01But now, let's take a look at two big old curved Big Eagle belts.
17:07So, this is the Block logo, uh, Big Eagle, and the Scratch logo, uh, Big Eagle.
17:17So, uh, you can see that the texturing is a little bit more subtle.
17:22Now, again, with the bright light, it might, like, kind of show up a little bit, uh, more obvious on camera than it does kind of in person.
17:29But the, uh, the texturing on the shields is more noticeable at other angles, you know, catch the light, you know, multiple different ways.
17:39You also have the texturing on the inside of the rope border there, going around the, uh, the side plates.
17:45And here, you do not.
17:47You just have the, uh, the flat etching there.
17:50So, we got that going for it.
17:52Of course, we do have the Block logo versus the, uh, the Scratch logo.
17:57Uh, the Eagle looks the same.
17:59The globe actually is still updated.
18:02The Verde, the Block logo still has the same side globes as the version one.
18:07Because I can see that Africa, or not Africa, but South America is not attached.
18:11It's kind of missing the island.
18:12So, they did upgrade the art for the side globes as well.
18:16Now, there were re-releases of this Block logo, Big Eagle, and even the version one, flat-plated Big Eagle, that did have the fixed globe.
18:26So, I don't know if those ones had fixed the side globes as well, or if that's unique or new to the, uh, uh, or new to the, uh, the, uh, the Scratch logo one there.
18:37Uh, but yeah, I mean, like I said, the artwork is very similar otherwise.
18:40Uh, we do have, of course, the, again, we got the Block logo, the Legends logo.
18:45Uh, this Block logo, uh, the, the Legends WW block logo is my favorite, uh, WWE logo, WWE slash WWF logo.
18:55I love how symmetrical it looks.
18:57Uh, without the swoosh there, everything just looks, you know, again, just beautiful.
19:02I love it.
19:02Um, but again, the Scratch logo is very iconic, and I do, you know, I do enjoy that one as well.
19:07Uh, the side plate, or the property plate, again, is going to be a little bit different here.
19:12So, this one has the new generation logo, uh, with the World Heavyweight Champion WWE 1998.
19:18And then the version two just has the, if I can get it maneuvered here, this just has kind of the generic property of World Wrestling Entertainment on it.
19:33Uh, the real one would have had, like, uh, JMR 999 or JMR 2K, uh, on the bottom where the word entertainment is as well.
19:42Um, but yeah, otherwise, these are just absolutely fantastic belts.
19:47Like, the Big Eagle is my second favorite title design of all time.
19:51Oh, actually, one thing that is also different is the sharpness of the Sunburst pattern is different.
20:00It is more, it's more like the version one, where it's a lot more dull, uh, and not as pointed as the, the Block logo one is.
20:09Which I think was actually a change that was also made to the real belts as the Block logo Big Eagle.
20:16Uh, the points here actually did cut Stone Cold, uh, when he went to hit somebody with a stunner.
20:22And the belt, like, was on his shoulder and kind of jumped up and hit him on, like, the side of the neck, I think it was.
20:27So, they do have sort of the dulled, uh, edges or the Sunburst pattern there.
20:33So, that's actually, again, kind of accurate to, uh, the, uh, the Big Eagle that was on, uh, like, the changes to the Big Eagle.
20:41So, yeah, there we go.
20:42Uh, one of my all-time favorite title designs.
20:45My second favorite title design of all time behind the, uh, the Undisputed, the original, uh, Undisputed from 2002.
20:53I love this design.
20:55It's an absolute shame that it only got used for, like, four years before it was replaced.
21:02And, you know, the other belt that replaced it is my favorite design.
21:06And it was around for an even shorter period of time, only to be replaced by the spinner belt, which lasted for, like, eight frickin' years.
21:14But, yeah, I absolutely love this belt.
21:16Version 2, unfortunately, this sold out pretty quickly.
21:20Uh, it was off of the WWE shop within, I think, like, two or three days.
21:27Uh, it did pop back on for a few hours, but then was removed again.
21:31So, uh, I imagine this will get restocked relatively quickly.
21:35The Block logo Big Eagle also appears to be out of stock on there as well, which is unfortunate.
21:40But, yeah, these are two of my all-time favorite replicas, uh, that I have in my collection.
21:44I've been waiting for this one, this, uh, the Scratch logo one for so long.
21:48But, yeah, let me know in the comments below, uh, do you own a Big Eagle replica belt?
21:53Which one do you have?
21:54Do you have the version 1, the version 2, the Block logo?
21:58Or, you know, did you go with the, uh, with the, the other belt makers?
22:02Uh, you know, let me know what your thoughts are on, uh, the Big Eagle belt in general.
22:07So, thank you all so very much for your time.
22:09I truly appreciate it, and we'll see you in the next one.
22:11Until then, take care.
