00:21but not as awesome as the fact that California is the first state
00:24to offer a penchant for fighters in boxing and MMA
00:27and hopefully pro wrestling and Muay Thai and other combat sports are next.

00:34I'm really hoping Muay Thai is next for sure and all the wrestling, everything,
00:38because this is such a pivotal moment.
00:41How have you felt?
00:43I mean, I saw a picture of you and Andy Foster not too long ago.
00:46You guys were promoting everything going on.
00:48How has it felt to be kind of one of those main advocates for this so far?
00:52I'm just glad that I can help in any way to do this
00:57because I think a lot of fighters, people, it's out of sight, out of mind.
01:03And once they're not under the lights, people forget that you exist and your life goes on.
01:07And a lot of people, most of the people in the sport do not make enough to retire on
01:12throughout their career.
01:13And it shouldn't be considered a stupid gamble to take on a career like this.
01:18and even the people that do make it at the top and are able to make enough money to retire
01:23off of,
01:24we need that other 99% of fighters to be able to get to that point.
01:29So we should be doing everything that we can to support them
01:31and make sure that they can make a living off of this as well in the long run,
01:34not just paycheck to paycheck.
01:36Yeah, absolutely.
01:37So what do you think of those California boxing and the MMA license plates that they're doing?
01:42I think that's a pretty neat and unique way to kind of get the ball rolling on all of this.

01:51I know that they were trying to get it to pass, but I don't know if they actually passed assembly.
01:54But, I mean, if it did pass, I'm going to be the first one to get it.

02:12And you mentioned a little bit about being involved with MVP MMA,
02:16possibly after that event.
02:19MVP MMA to maybe Nate Diaz on the card?
02:22Are you going to be a part of that?
02:25We'll see.
02:26You know, we need to kind of reconvene and see what the future looks like at this point.
02:31I think everyone is just kind of, like, decompressing and, yeah, getting back to post that huge of event fight

02:41And I think what I hope they do in the future, whether with me or not, is that they continue
02:46to make their fights a huge event.
02:48Every single one a single huge event because that's what's missing in MMA.
02:52It's just becoming, you know, on every weekend background noise.
02:55And it needs to be an event.
02:57So anything that they do next, whether I'm involved or not, I hope that it's something huge.
03:02And for something to be huge of that caliber again, I think, you know, I think Nate also needs to
03:07be involved again.

03:17I mean, just the way you ended the fight, the way you carried yourself on the lead-up, you know,
03:22those media questions were tough.
03:25But you, you know, took them on the chin and you carried yourself with grace and you went in there
03:29and did your thing.

03:33How does it feel to have that kind of show up?
03:35It was extremely validating, especially after Hunter Campbell told Gina that he didn't know how he was going to promote
03:42a couple.
03:43No, he told Gina that he didn't know how he was going to market a couple of 40-year-olds
03:46to her.
03:47That's what he said.
03:48And so it was really nice to kind of take that comment and throw it into his face.
03:52And it's not that he doesn't know how to market us.
03:54It's he doesn't know how to market fucking anybody.
03:56And he missed a huge opportunity letting us go because now he, in his own arrogance, basically allowed us to
04:04create the Lamborghini to his Ferrari.
04:05And he created the hugest rival that the UFC is ever going to have just because he's so arrogant, stupid,
04:11and chauvinist.
04:12I love that answer.

04:15What do you think about that?
04:16I think the more competition, the better.
04:18The more promoters that are, you know, are getting into it and getting serious, the better.
04:23I think that being a publicly traded company and having the fighter's best interests at heart, it's not, you can't
04:32have, you can't be legally obligated to maximize shareholder value and simultaneously have the fighter's best interests in mind.
04:39It's impossible.
04:40And so there needs to be other options for fighters to have.
04:45Not that that can exist, but that can't be the only option.
