05:25Dajkuje zaglądanie.
05:26Channels.
05:27And he stopped on wrestling.
05:30Thank you.
05:31It was Michael Hayes and the Freebirds.
05:34They were turning on Terry Gordy,
05:36putting a baby bonnet on his head.
05:40I'm like, what is this?
05:42And I just was enamored with it.
05:44I realized then that wrestling is a soap opera.
05:47It's a soap opera for men.
05:48I never got your body, boy!
05:52And I was like, that's what I want to do when I get older.
05:54I just knew I wanted to be on wrestling.
05:56Right then and there.
05:58Made my girlfriend go with me to Macon, Georgia
06:00because Tommy Rich was fighting Michael Hayes.
06:04Back in 1981, Tommy Wildfire Rich was the cat's pajamas.
06:09He was the hottest thing.
06:10I had pictures of him all over my wall.
06:12I remember nothing from the match,
06:14but I did get a picture with Tommy Rich.
06:16And then we just hooked up after the show.
06:21And he denies everything, but, you know, that's okay.
06:25She had that girl next door, innocent look,
06:27but she wasn't as innocent as she looked.
06:31Hi, I'm Lori Dormey,
06:32and I have been friends with Melissa Hyatt
06:35for almost 50 years.
06:38Back then, I was working at the City of Night.
06:41It was an after-hours club dancing and prancing and, you know, wearing skimpy clothes.
06:47They call them drag shows, but I was not a drag queen.
06:50I was working to get my surgery.
06:52I was known as the blonde bombshell.
06:55I learned a lot from Lori.
06:57She taught me how to flirt, how to be a little tramp.
07:00And I turned into Marilyn Monroe.
07:01Oh, darling, aren't you handsome?
07:03You know, all that bullshit.
07:05She was out of town one time, so I did the show for her.
07:08And I showed my boobs.
07:10That was, like, my first time I ever performed on stage.
07:14Melissa was wild.
07:16That's what I admired about her.
07:18With newfound confidence,
07:21Missy uses her allure to break into wrestling.
07:25I remember when I moved to Atlanta,
07:27when we would go to the wrestling shows,
07:29like, we'd go in the bath,
07:31act like you're supposed to be there.
07:32So that's how I met Jake Roberts.
07:34We started dating.
07:35I learned a lot about wrestling from Jake.
07:38We would sit up at night doing cocaine and playing gin rummy
07:42and watching wrestling on TV.
07:44And I saw Precious and Sunshine get into a catfight.
07:48Sunshine after Precious.
07:50And I was like, oh, my God, that's what I want to do.
07:53This is Clinton ofonia.
07:54I was in awe.
07:56Then I knew I wanted to be a valet.
07:59Then Jake told me,
08:00we'll send your photos out to Dallas to world-class wrestling.
08:04And I did.
08:05But they hired Baby Doll.
08:07From, like, 85 to, like, 90, valets were it.
08:12We were always made of it.
08:14Walking talent out to the ring.
08:16We were doing the catfights.
08:17And the two women are at it again.
08:19It just opened up a whole new genre
08:21for girls to get in the business.
08:23Here she goes, and here she goes.
08:25Hello, my name is Baby Doll, the Perfect Ten.
08:28I've been in professional wrestling my whole life.
08:30In 84, I met John Tatum.
08:33John Tatum.
08:33When Tatum saw the heat that Gino and I had gotten in Dallas,
08:37I cannot believe this.
08:38He says, I'm going to get me one of those.
08:41After me and Jake Roberts broke up,
08:43I got my first boob job.
08:45And then I met John Tatum.
08:46And I fell right in love with him.
08:48She was a lot prettier than most girls I dated.
08:52But I guess she might have had a hidden agenda.
08:55I'm a professional wrestler, Hollywood John Tatum.
08:59And Missy Hyatt was my girlfriend.
09:02Everybody in the wrestling business wants to be famous.
09:06Missy wanted to be Missy Hyatt.
09:10She's relatively patient and could wait.
09:14She only came with me when I got the job in Texas.
09:20When John Tatum came and was wrestling for us,
09:23John came to me and said,
09:25what would you think of my girlfriend getting in the business?
09:28My name is David Manning.
09:29I was with World Class Championship Wrestling.
09:32You can blame me for getting Missy Hyatt into professional wrestling.
09:35She obviously had the looks.
09:37I mean, she was gorgeous.
09:38And I said, when are you going to come to work for us?
09:43Missy!
09:43David Manning asked me to be a valet,
09:45and I knew that's what I wanted to do.
09:47He said, bring a purse.
09:48You're going to hit Sunshine in the head.
09:50Okay, I'll do that.
09:51John Tatum has got Sunshine.
09:53I was game out swinging.
09:54And this woman is flailing her with her purse.
09:57It was the most exhilarating, fun time I ever had in my life.
10:00Who is this?
10:01And I knew this is where I belonged,
10:04and this is where I needed to be.
10:06This woman really lets...
10:08Missy understands that connecting with the audience
10:10means creating a captivating character.
10:14Bring the weapon of the socialite, the pain he might.
10:17I thought my character was just a rich socialite.
10:21I want to be a little bit of Susan Lucci,
10:24Morgan Fairchild, a little bit of Lori.
10:27Yeah.
10:28It's just dialed up 150%.
10:30She carried the image of a spoiled kid.
10:35Forgive me, Missy.
10:36Who knows what she wants and will do anything to get it.
10:40Come in here and sit down.
10:41And when she didn't get it, she would throw a tanflet.
10:45Oh, with that whiny voice.
10:48I can't even get my octave up that high.
10:51I'm Bonnie Blackstone.
10:53I've been in professional wrestling for 30 years,
10:55and I have known Missy Hyatt for most of those 30 years.
11:00There is no time out in wrestling.
11:03Get ready!
11:05Missy is the ultimate heel.
11:08Oh, my God, the fans hated me because Sunshine was beloved.
11:14It was so easy to get heat back then.
11:16Well, the fans wanted them to fight.
11:18Today, the third annual Parade of Champions.
11:20So when I booked the Parade of Champions,
11:22the second biggest match on that card
11:24was Missy Hyatt against Sunshine in a mud match.
11:28Forget wrestling, forget arm drags,
11:31really just running in, grabbing a head full of hair,
11:33and here we go.
11:35Before I started working in the business,
11:37they didn't think women could draw.
11:40I sure damn showed them that we could.
11:43You're looking at the queen of Dallas.
11:47After leaving world class,
11:50Missy and Hollywood head to the UWF,
11:53where trouble catches up with them.
11:56We all left and went to Louisiana,
12:00and I know she was thinking she didn't need me
12:04because she loved me.
12:07I loved John a lot.
12:09I just never thought that he loved me,
12:11and that's why it was so easy for Eddie to come in
12:13and kind of steal me away.
12:15Hot stuff, Eddie Dillard!
12:17Eddie was one of the greatest professional wrestlers
12:20there's ever been,
12:22not to mention he was the assistant booker at that time.
12:26Missy and Eddie came to me and said that they were in love.
12:29It is fact.
12:31Now it is Hyatt and Hot Stuff.
12:33He was very mad at me, yeah.
12:34And I don't blame him.
12:35When she broke up with John Tatum,
12:38Bill Watts said,
12:39we couldn't write anything better
12:42than what this woman does in reality.
12:44So we used to.
12:46Missy Hyatt is leaving!
12:48We had to bring our drama onto the show.
12:52Get it right here!
12:53I saw it as a way to be on top,
12:58to wrestle Eddie Gilbert every night.
13:02But unfortunately,
13:04I was in a horrible car accident
13:07that pretty much ended my wrestling career.
13:11We made a report
13:12that Hollywood John Tatum
13:13has sustained a very serious injury
13:15in a tragic car accident.
13:16She worked and studied
13:18to grow and move up
13:20so she couldn't draw money faster than me.
13:24She didn't need me.
13:25She did perfect.
13:26Hollywood John Tatum and I
13:27are no longer together.
13:30I think she became aware
13:32that there are the haves and the have-nots.
13:35So once you're in it,
13:36once you make the money,
13:38once you drive the cars,
13:40once you have access to the guys,
13:43you don't ever let that go.
13:46Power is the great aphrodisiac.
13:53In the 1980s,
13:55Vince McMahon's WWF explodes in popularity.
13:58Come on, everyone.
13:59I'm Vince McMahon.
14:00Driven by a roster of larger-than-life personalities.
14:04I am the king of wrestling.
14:07You had Hulk Hogan leading the way.
14:09You shall feel the wrath of Hulkamania.
14:11And Missy Hyatt was a character
14:13they had not explored yet in the WWF.
14:16She seemed like such a perfect fit.
14:19Yeah, I know.
14:20Huh.
14:20In 1987,
14:22Vince McMahon calls up Missy Hyatt.
14:24She is given the ultimate pitch
14:26to take her star to another level.
14:29I couldn't even talk to him.
14:31I was like an ah-ah and ga-ga
14:33that Vincent Ranches called me.
14:34Vince wanted to have us come up there and work.
14:37Me and Eddie.
14:38We had a limo take us to the Stanford offices
14:41and met Vince.
14:43He said,
14:43Eddie, you can wrestle,
14:44you can manage,
14:45you can do whatever you want.
14:46But Missy,
14:47I want to make you a superstar.
14:49I'm going to make you bigger than Hulk Hogan.
14:51And I'm like,
14:53okay.
14:55You're going to take over Piper's Pit.
14:58Hosted by Rowdy Roddy Piper.
15:00I could slam you myself.
15:02Piper's Pit is a reoccurring interview segment
15:05on WWF television.
15:07When RP talks,
15:09people listen.
15:10Roddy Piper,
15:10after WrestleMania 3,
15:12is leaving.
15:13He's going to be focusing on movies.
15:16Those are gigantic shoes to fill.
15:18Eddie was very jealous
15:19because he was all thinking
15:20that he was going to get some great deal.
15:23Eddie's like,
15:23I'm going to stay in UWF
15:25and you can go to WWE.
15:27That's when I knew
15:28that me and Eddie were going to split.
15:31But I just wanted to be my own thing.
15:35Vince McMahon hires Missy Hyatt
15:37with a plan to replace Piper's Pit
15:39with an all-new segment.
15:42Welcome to Missy's Manor.
15:44I was going to get $1,000 a week,
15:46all expenses paid.
15:48They had a set built for me
15:49and it was wonderful.
15:51Vince McMahon bought me
15:53all these leather clothes.
15:55Then he took me out to dinner
15:56and he taught me how to play blackjack.
15:58At the end of the night,
16:00he walked me to my room,
16:02tried to kiss me,
16:04just tried to stick his toe in my mouth
16:06and I pushed him out
16:06and shut the door.
16:09After that,
16:10Vince was more standoffish to me.
16:12I think he sabotaged me after that.
16:14They had me interview
16:15Randy Savage, Miss Elizabeth,
16:18Jimmy Hart,
16:19and Bobby Heenan
16:20and all of them sucked
16:22because I was so nervous.
16:23I didn't even know
16:24how to give a microphone to somebody.
16:26Vince told me exactly what to say
16:28and I don't do script at all.
16:30I'm ad-lib only.
16:31Speaking of legs,
16:35you have got...
16:36And I asked him,
16:37please let me do it that way.
16:38No, no, you can do it.
16:41Concentrate just a little harder
16:43on your next question.
16:44Yeah.
16:45With WWE,
16:46it was kind of expected
16:47that you were going to be
16:48one of Vince's girls
16:49or whatever he wanted to do
16:51and if Missy didn't want to play that game,
16:53she wasn't going to play that game.
16:54Well, I guess I'll see you here
16:56next week on Missy's Manor.
17:02Missy's Manor is cancelled
17:03before it ever airs
17:06and Vince McMahon offers Missy
17:08a different role instead.
17:10Two of our lovely
17:11Fedorettes is scoring Mr. Red.
17:13A Fedorette,
17:14they had these girls
17:14that took green jackets.
17:16How do you like Fedorette-ing it?
17:17Nobody's really interested
17:18in what we do.
17:19I can change that for you.
17:20I was like,
17:21I don't want to do that.
17:22So I told Vince
17:24I didn't want to do that
17:25and I said,
17:26I think this is not the time
17:27for me to be in the WWE.
17:29and he was like,
17:30okay.
17:31So in six weeks,
17:32I was gone.
17:33I was out of there
17:34and went home.
17:35Following her WWF exit,
17:37Missy signs
17:38with World Championship Wrestling.
17:40When I went to Dusty,
17:42he was like,
17:42we're going to make you a star.
17:43Don't worry about a doll.
17:45And he did.
17:45He started using me.
17:46Hi, and I'm Missy Hyatt.
17:48When Missy went to WCW,
17:50they gave her a lot to do.
17:52She was doing interviews.
17:54Woo!
17:54She was walking talent
17:56out to the ring.
17:57Every week,
17:59she came in
17:59and she looked
18:00like a million dollars.
18:01Meow.
18:03I was working
18:04with Jim Ross
18:05and Tony Schiavone.
18:06Is there anything
18:06that you don't know
18:07at all?
18:08Mm-mm.
18:08Doing comedic stuff.
18:10Yeah, April Fool's.
18:11They used to let me
18:12open up the show.
18:12Now, let's go to the ring.
18:15I love doing that
18:15because, you know,
18:16you got the microphone.
18:18I think you have
18:18more control.
18:19Now, the first woman
18:20to interview a wrestler
18:21in the shower.
18:23Let's go see.
18:24That was so much fun.
18:25Ah!
18:26They would let me go out there
18:27and be Missy
18:28and make it my own.
18:32She was by far
18:33the most known
18:34female personality
18:35in wrestling
18:35that it wasn't even close.
18:37I'm Jim Cornette,
18:38and while I was
18:39a great male wrestling manager,
18:41Missy Hyatt was even more famous
18:43as a female wrestling manager.
18:44There weren't a lot
18:45of other women
18:46being featured regularly,
18:48and if you put Missy Hyatt
18:49on the cover
18:50of the wrestling magazine,
18:52boom, you've got
18:53an instant sellout.
18:54She was able to prove
18:55her selling power,
18:57selling more 8x10 merch
18:58than most of the guys
18:59we've got out there
19:00in the main events.
19:01She had the number one calendar
19:03and had the number one
19:05wrestling hotline.
19:06Call Missy tonight!
19:07Only on the wrestling hotline.
19:09Different people
19:09had different days.
19:10Jim Ross had Saturdays,
19:11I had Sundays.
19:12Mine was like gossip stuff.
19:14I made up stuff,
19:15all kinds of stories.
19:16I don't know why
19:16everyone at WCW
19:18is mad at me.
19:19It was a whole lot better
19:20than calling to hear me
19:21or Jim Ross or whatever.
19:23They were listing
19:24to Missy Hyatt.
19:25Hi, guys!
19:26She should have made
19:27bank on that,
19:29but I think that they
19:30took advantage of her.
19:33Nobody else's hotline
19:34was as good as mine.
19:36It made half a million
19:37dollars one year.
19:38And you want to ask me
19:39how much I made?
19:42My calendar
19:43that they put out of me,
19:45I got $19 for it.
19:47I was supposed to get 20%.
19:48I was like,
19:49what?
19:50They tried to write off
19:51all this stuff
19:52for the hotline.
19:53It was all shenanigans.
19:55I was the lowest paid
19:56person there.
19:57She wanted to work
19:58and she wanted
19:59to be popular
19:59and instead of paying her
20:01like what they should have,
20:02they stole from her
20:03because she made money
20:04for those people.
20:05I'm not just some idiot
20:07that shouldn't be
20:08in the business.
20:09My talent speaks for itself,
20:11but I don't get the credit
20:13because I'm a woman
20:14and it's still
20:14a man's business.
20:16It happens to every female.
20:18Even though she had
20:19the most popular hotline
20:20and selling merch,
20:21it's always well.
20:22She hit her knees
20:23to get that job.
20:24Even when you do
20:25a good job,
20:27you're going to be accused
20:28of doing another job.
20:30I was treated
20:31like a blonde bimbo,
20:33treated as my character
20:34and not as a human being.
20:36And then they fired me.
20:48Even as her popularity
20:50grows in WCW,
20:52Missy begins a new relationship
20:54that soon complicates
20:55her career.
20:56Welcome back everyone
20:56to WCW Saturday Night.
20:57Jim Ross and Jason Hervey
20:59of ABC's Wonder Years
21:00back with you.
21:01Jason Hervey
21:02from the Wonder Years,
21:04the mean older brother.
21:06One of the worst mistakes
21:07I ever made in my life
21:08was to date him.
21:10You know,
21:11you really are
21:12a butthead.
21:13Jason Hervey
21:14was at the time
21:15a big wrestling fan.
21:16I want to thank you,
21:17Jim Ross.
21:18And because he was
21:19some kind of
21:19quasi-celebrity,
21:20they wanted him
21:21on the show.
21:22Mr. TV star,
21:24I'd like to know
21:25what the hell
21:25you're doing out here!
21:27But of course
21:27he's Gaga over Missy.
21:29At the beginning,
21:30I really had fun with him.
21:32I really did.
21:32And I thought he was
21:33the best boyfriend ever.
21:34And we lived together
21:35for two years.
21:37Boy, he loved
21:38a lavish real money.
21:40He bought her
21:41a presidential Rolex watch
21:43that was iced.
21:45The clothing that Missy wore,
21:47if she wore it twice,
21:48she gave it to me.
21:49They lived in
21:50a beautiful bungalow
21:52in the Hollywood Hills.
21:54Money was no option
21:55when it came to them.
21:57But, um,
21:58she's a beautiful woman.
21:59And I think he's insecure.
22:01Missy, you look nice.
22:03You look nice to see.
22:03I always look nice.
22:05Missy was hanging
22:05around all of his heroes.
22:07Why wouldn't you feel
22:08a little intimidated?
22:10Lex Luger,
22:10you're a hunk.
22:11Jason would literally
22:13call my house
22:14and say,
22:16where's Missy?
22:17What's she wearing?
22:18Who's she talking to?
22:19What guys are in there?
22:21Can you see her boobs?
22:23Maybe a little bit.
22:25I mean,
22:26you're gonna see some boob.
22:27It's Missy.
22:28I mean,
22:30talk about possessive.
22:32And I think
22:33all the Rolex presidents
22:34in the world
22:35don't make up
22:36for somebody
22:37who's gonna treat you
22:38like that.
22:39He went out on a boat
22:40with some girls.
22:42So I confronted him about it.
22:43Why didn't you tell me
22:44there was girls?
22:45Oh, I thought you'd get upset.
22:46I was like,
22:47you little mother
22:48because if there wasn't
22:49anything nefarious,
22:50you would have told me
22:51there were girls.
22:52You know,
22:53I broke up with him
22:54because he lied to me once
22:55and that's it.
22:56And if you're gonna lie to me
22:57about something stupid,
22:58then you're gonna lie to me
22:59about something really big.
23:01And then later on,
23:02I lost my job
23:04because of him.
23:06What happened was
23:07is after I break up
23:09with Jason,
23:09there was a change
23:10in the office
23:11and Eric Bischoff
23:13became the boss.
23:13Hello, everybody!
23:14And him and Eric Bischoff
23:15were good friends.
23:17Eric Bischoff
23:18wants to be a big-time
23:19television producer,
23:20so he hooks up
23:21with this kid.
23:22And they kept
23:24a relationship,
23:25produced all kinds
23:26of television shows together.
23:27And there was never
23:28an incident between me
23:29and Eric before that.
23:30He was just at my house
23:32like a few months
23:32before that.
23:33But he was so far
23:34up Jason's butt
23:35that he would do
23:36whatever Jason wanted.
23:37Jason knew I didn't
23:38want to be a manager.
23:39He knew I wanted
23:40to be an announcer.
23:41All of a sudden,
23:42I couldn't do that anymore.
23:44I am just so tired
23:46of being an announcer.
23:47It's just no fun!
23:49So I knew
23:49something fishy's going on.
23:51The Nasty Boys!
23:53And the next thing I know,
23:54they had me managing
23:55the Nasty Boys.
23:57All they did was scream
23:58on their interviews.
24:00And they would never
24:01let me talk.
24:02And then there was
24:03the incident
24:04where my boob popped out.
24:07Welcome to Starcade!
24:09The match was
24:11the Nasty Boys
24:12against Sting
24:13and Road Warrior Hawk.
24:15And I was wearing
24:15this mesh dress
24:17and a bra and stuff.
24:20She's nasty!
24:21At the end of the match,
24:22I jumped on Sting's back
24:24and when I fell off,
24:25my boob had popped
24:26out a little bit.
24:26And look at Missy!
24:29I looked, oh!
24:30So I pulled it back up
24:31or whatever.
24:33I didn't know
24:34at the time.
24:35The camera guy got it.
24:36The photographer got it.
24:38A couple weeks later,
24:40I went up to the studios
24:41and on the bulletin board,
24:43there's this picture
24:43of me in the ring
24:44with my boob out.
24:46What the hell?
24:48So I pulled it off,
24:50tore it up,
24:51threw it in the trash.
24:52I went to Bischoff.
24:53I said,
24:54I would like an apology
24:55from the photographer
24:57and I want
24:57if there's more of these
24:58taken down
24:59out of the building.
25:00She originally threw
25:01it in the trash
25:02and then she went back
25:03and she got it.
25:04Something said,
25:05get it, keep it,
25:06you need that.
25:07So I got it.
25:08I called the offices
25:09and talked to the higher up.
25:11I told him about
25:11the boob picture.
25:12He didn't know
25:13anything about it
25:14because I guess Eric
25:15never said anything
25:15about it to him.
25:17Like a week later,
25:19Eric called me over.
25:20He said,
25:20I went over his head.
25:22He just told me,
25:23you're fired.
25:25I was like, what?
25:26He goes,
25:26you heard me,
25:27you went over my head,
25:28you're fired.
25:28Go home.
25:30I'm like,
25:30really?
25:31Am I fired?
25:32It had nothing to do
25:33with her going over my head.
25:35Here's why
25:36Missy Hyatt got fired.
25:37She didn't want
25:38any other women
25:38in WCW.
25:40That's it.
25:41She put on
25:42such a tirade
25:44and acted like
25:44such a child.
25:46I didn't want
25:46that type of person
25:47on the roster.
25:48So I fired her.
25:49It's that simple.
25:50I went back
25:51to the room.
25:53I took a bunch
25:53of Xanax
25:54and a bottle of wine.
25:57I called
25:58my friend
25:59Brutus Beefcake
25:59and he came over
26:00and he held my hand
26:01and he made me throw up
26:03and put me in the shower,
26:04put cold water on me.
26:06He saved my life.
26:08I probably would have died.
26:15I didn't do anything wrong.
26:19I knew it was Jason Murphy.
26:21I knew it was Jason.
26:24Eric Bischoff
26:24would do whatever
26:25Jason wanted
26:26and Jason didn't want me around.
26:29See, Jason's mother
26:30was a boogying agent.
26:32A lot of people
26:33don't know that.
26:34Bischoff wanted
26:34to be a part of Hollywood
26:36and maybe there might have
26:38been a carrot dangled.
26:39You know,
26:40I'll help you do that
26:42but you're going to have
26:43to let her go.
26:45Leverage.
26:47Very good points,
26:48ladies and gentlemen.
26:49I don't think Eric Bischoff's
26:50arm really needed
26:51to be twisted
26:52to stop working
26:53with Missy Hyatt
26:54but once Missy Hyatt
26:56discovered that photo,
26:57they were leaving themselves
26:58wide open
27:00for legal action.
27:01I think that's when
27:02she contacted someone
27:03legally and said,
27:04would this be considered,
27:06you know,
27:07a defamation of character?
27:09And I think an attorney
27:10told her,
27:11yeah.
27:12And we're going to sue
27:13in federal court
27:13and I'm going to sue
27:16each supervisor
27:17and each person
27:19individually
27:20besides suing Turner
27:21Broadcasting.
27:22In this industry,
27:23you're supposed to take
27:24your licks and go on.
27:25I think Missy
27:26had had enough.
27:27She had fought
27:27for her job,
27:29she had clawed
27:30for her space.
27:31This was the straw
27:32that broke Camel's back.
27:33It turns into
27:34a 12-count lawsuit
27:36that is filed
27:37against WCW.
27:38Her main issue
27:40was the money
27:41that she was not paid
27:42for various royalties
27:44and included in that
27:45is sexual harassment
27:47over this photo.
27:48Sexual harassment,
27:49discrimination,
27:50equal pay,
27:52you know?
27:52And I just was like,
27:54you know what?
27:54You're not going to fire me
27:55and then screw me
27:56for the money.
27:57Went to mediation
27:58and I got $175,000
28:00from them.
28:01And the lawyers
28:02got like 40%,
28:03so I really didn't
28:04get that much.
28:07After WCW,
28:08I was trying to put
28:09my life back together again.
28:11It was very hard.
28:12Very hard.
28:13I was battling
28:15depression
28:16and anxiety
28:18because once you get fame,
28:20you want that exhilaration,
28:23especially when you go
28:24out to the ring
28:25and you get that heat
28:26and you get them
28:27standing on their seats.
28:29You know,
28:29to get that,
28:30there's not a drug
28:31in the world
28:32that even comes,
28:33is not even close
28:34to that.
28:38But it is what it is.
28:40It's over with.
28:50Fired from WCW,
28:52Missy Hyatt's wrestling future
28:54is suddenly in doubt.
28:55I moved to New York City
28:57and I started working
28:57as a bartender
28:58and a go-go dancer.
29:00I worked there
29:00for about,
29:02two, three years.
29:03Once you've been
29:04on television
29:05and been a star,
29:06now you're trying
29:07to reinvent yourself
29:08at that age.
29:11That was a very dark
29:12time for her.
29:13I got diagnosed
29:14with being bipolar
29:15and ADHD.
29:18I was just self-medicating
29:20to make me not feel
29:21to make me forget about her.
29:26Every day at work
29:27became such
29:28an emotional tear on me.
29:30I would go home
29:31and I would cry
29:31because why would
29:32they do this to me?
29:33Struggling with addiction,
29:35Missy watches
29:36the wrestling world
29:37passing her by.
29:38To be perfectly honest,
29:40in 1985, 86,
29:42she's 25, 26,
29:44but here's the problem.
29:45In the WWF,
29:47they had the next
29:48generation of that.
29:50So, if you've got
29:52a choice of bringing
29:53in Sunny or Missy,
29:56even though Missy
29:56was the original,
29:58that's what you do.
30:00And that's just showbiz.
30:02Sorry, folks,
30:03I didn't make the rules.
30:04Sometimes people say,
30:05oh, everybody's
30:06already seen her.
30:07Some people can say
30:09she's mean.
30:09You have to find
30:10one person
30:11that'll vouch for you.
30:12My name is Paul E. Dangerously,
30:14and this is
30:15the danger zone.
30:16I met Paul Lee
30:17in Memphis,
30:19and we just
30:20became friends.
30:21When I moved
30:22to New York City,
30:23I didn't know anybody
30:24but Paul Lee.
30:25Paul Lee called me
30:26and asked me
30:27if I wanted to work
30:27in ECW,
30:28and I said,
30:29sure, I'll work there.
30:32ECW, it was
30:32total, extreme wrestling.
30:35No way!
30:36Oh, my God!
30:37Show you extreme!
30:38The girls were in
30:40a total different light.
30:42Francine wants payback!
30:43With the sexualization
30:45and they were getting
30:47thrown around,
30:49Missy was
30:50neck deep in all of it.
30:52A walking riot,
30:54Missy Hyatt.
30:55Paul Lee told me
30:55that we're going to do
30:56something with the Sandman,
30:57Stevie Richards is going
30:58to come out,
30:59and you're going to give him
30:59a really big kiss,
31:01and then he's going to sue
31:02you for sexual harassment.
31:03And I was like,
31:04oh, man, this is going to suck.
31:05I'll get a restraining
31:06warrant.
31:06Get away from you.
31:07So I kissed Stevie,
31:09and then I started
31:10working in ECW
31:11with Sandman.
31:13The absolute last place
31:15on the face of the earth
31:16that anybody
31:17with depression,
31:19substance abuse issues
31:20needed to be
31:21was in ECW.
31:22Everybody was doing
31:24various forms of drugs.
31:26I mean, Sandman's drinking.
31:28Who knows what
31:28everybody's doing?
31:30I know what I was doing.
31:31I tripped on acid
31:33one time at an ECW show.
31:34I was under the table
31:35giggling.
31:36I got all geeked
31:37out of my mind.
31:39My bipolar was just crazy
31:42all over the place.
31:43You know,
31:43you just self-medicate
31:44how your moods are.
31:46And here comes Missy!
31:48It felt like ECW
31:49was probably not
31:50a great fit for her.
31:51We've got a track fight!
31:53There's an injury
31:54she sustains
31:55where she shatters
31:56her elbow.
31:57I think this is where
31:58Missy Hyatt falls out of love
32:00with professional wrestling.
32:02I see no reason
32:03why this collagen-lit
32:05non-wrestler
32:07should even be
32:08in the ring.
32:10ECW ends up being
32:11her last big hurrah
32:13in pro wrestling.
32:16I don't remember
32:17a lot of it.
32:1894 to about
32:202002 or 2003
32:21is a total blur for me.
32:23It was just
32:24a really bad time.
32:25And my drug use
32:26got really bad.
32:28I was using heroin,
32:30I was using
32:32cocaine,
32:33pills,
32:35ecstasy,
32:36tried meth,
32:37and I was scared
32:38my teeth would fall out.
32:39She seemed like
32:40she was really,
32:41really sad
32:42at that point.
32:44For about a year,
32:45I guess,
32:45I didn't really hear
32:46from her,
32:47which kind of
32:47concerned me.
32:49This was one
32:50of those dark times
32:51where she and I
32:52weren't talking.
32:53It's all the people
32:54who you surround
32:55yourself with.
32:56If you surround
32:57yourself with idiots,
33:00it's not going
33:00to be a good time.
33:01I went to a guy
33:02who I thought
33:03was a friend of mine.
33:04I said,
33:04I have a great idea
33:05for a website.
33:07Wrestling Vincense.
33:09It was a website
33:10with me and a few
33:11other girls naked.
33:13You know,
33:14and you're posing
33:14here, posing there.
33:15And you didn't have
33:16to get naked
33:16if you didn't want to.
33:18But I was going to
33:18damn sure get naked
33:19and make money.
33:21We made $80,000
33:23the first month.
33:24I was driving a Porsche
33:25and living in a beautiful
33:26apartment in Tampa.
33:28I was just spending
33:30a lot of money
33:30on drugs combined
33:31with the craziness
33:33in my head.
33:34Made me really,
33:35really out of it.
33:36So, people just
33:37took advantage of me.
33:39Took advantage of me.
33:40I believe people
33:41when they say stuff
33:42and aren't pieces
33:43of shit
33:44like they are sometimes.
33:46That made me
33:47just blow up.
33:48And I had
33:48a psychotic break.
33:57wrestling vixens
33:58was an adult site
34:00for wrestling fans
34:01that was run
34:02by Missy Hyatt
34:03working with
34:03Tammy Sitch.
34:05They got off
34:06to a good start,
34:07but 2001,
34:09it's the very,
34:10very early days
34:11of the internet.
34:12You still had people
34:13that were very hesitant
34:14to put their credit card
34:16information online.
34:17They had the concept
34:18and there was
34:19a market for it,
34:21but it was
34:22a low-rent execution
34:23and they didn't
34:25have the platform
34:26to make the big bucks.
34:27And the business
34:29looked like it was
34:30not on solid footing.
34:32She'd called me.
34:33She was talking
34:34about doing videos
34:35and doing the photo shoots
34:36and making a bunch
34:37of money
34:37and that if I wanted
34:39to come down,
34:40that it would be perfect,
34:42you know,
34:42because I had never
34:43had any pictures
34:44like that out.
34:45It was going to be
34:45good money,
34:46that all my bills
34:47would be paid.
34:48We'd just go out
34:49and have fun
34:49and take some pictures
34:50and so I'm thinking,
34:52well, okay,
34:53might be able
34:53to buy a car
34:54with some money.
34:56And I said,
34:56well, how much
34:57do you think
34:57that I'll make
34:58for the week?
34:59And she said,
35:00well, with everything
35:01being paid,
35:02I think I could probably
35:03get you $600.
35:06Big mistake.
35:07Huge mistake.
35:11The fact that
35:12they made a lot
35:13more money off of me
35:13than I made off myself,
35:15yeah,
35:15that's what I regret.
35:18once people
35:19can go to a site
35:20like that
35:21and copy its content
35:23and now distributes
35:24that content virally,
35:27you're getting it
35:27for free.
35:28I've seen it
35:29and I've never
35:30paid a dime.
35:31The money just
35:32got depleted.
35:33They felt they were
35:34scammed out of their money
35:35and it largely
35:36was a disaster.
35:38Finally,
35:38I said,
35:39you know what?
35:39I'm done.
35:39I'm not doing
35:40any more photo shoots.
35:41Send me some money
35:42and we'll keep doing it.
35:42If not,
35:43forget about it.
35:44Missy wanted to work
35:46and not that she was
35:47naive by any means
35:49but basically,
35:51they took a bunch
35:52of pictures for nothing.
35:54And it's just like,
35:55one bad thing happens
35:56and another bad thing
35:56happens and it piles on
35:58and piles on
35:58and piles on.
36:00So I was self-harming myself
36:04and then you snap out
36:05of it by doing cocaine
36:06or something
36:07or whatever.
36:10We were close.
36:11We were like sisters
36:11at one point
36:12and I was spending
36:12every single weekend
36:13up in her apartment.
36:14I had a key to the place,
36:15everything.
36:16And there's Missy
36:16and some girl
36:17I've never seen before
36:18smoking crack.
36:19And I was like,
36:20what the hell is going on?
36:21I mean,
36:22I was pissed off
36:24and basically I said,
36:25all right,
36:25I'm done.
36:25I'm out of here.
36:26I've only have
36:27a few girlfriends.
36:29I can count them
36:30on one hand.
36:31Really,
36:32five good people
36:33that I can say
36:34that haven't ever
36:35taken advantage of me.
36:37Probably less than five,
36:39you know.
36:40So.
36:43I don't know.
36:44No friends.
36:47I was total outcast.
36:49When some bad stuff happens,
36:51I think a lot of people
36:52get that way.
36:53And I was so sad.
36:55I was like,
36:56why am I living like this?
36:57Why am I in hell?
36:59And then doubling my Prozac
37:01caused me to have
37:01a psychotic break.
37:03I thought the Russians
37:04were coming.
37:05I was running around
37:06my front yard
37:06half naked.
37:07And my mom didn't know
37:08what to do with me.
37:09And so she called
37:10the police on me
37:11and they put me in the car
37:12and put me to the hospital.
37:15I was not taken care of
37:18mentally.
37:20And I just couldn't,
37:23couldn't see straight anymore.
37:25I couldn't comprehend.
37:29Getting to that point,
37:30I, you know,
37:33was getting ready
37:34to kill myself again.
37:36I was a real douchebag
37:37because I did not reach out.
37:40My husband at that time
37:42said,
37:43stay out of it.
37:44And I had enough faith
37:45that Missy was strong enough
37:47that if something was going down,
37:49she would also be able
37:51to pull herself up out of it.
37:58Following years
37:59of struggling with addiction,
38:00Missy Hyatt reaches rock bottom.
38:03You know,
38:04at this time
38:04that I wanted to kill myself,
38:05I was sitting on the floor
38:06with a 357
38:07getting ready to blow
38:08my brains out.
38:10I don't know,
38:11I just didn't want to feel.
38:12And then I called my friend
38:14and she's like,
38:15do it in the bathtub,
38:16that way we don't have
38:16to clean it up.
38:17What a piece of shit,
38:19selfish person you are.
38:21Snapped me right out
38:22of feeling sorry for myself.
38:24You know?
38:25And so the next day
38:26I went to my doctor
38:28and I told him what was up
38:29and what I was doing
38:30and I needed help
38:31and he gave me help.
38:32that had been so noisy
38:34in her life
38:36with one bomb
38:38after the next
38:39going off.
38:42yeah,
38:42she needed a quiet place.
38:45I went through like
38:46three psychiatrists
38:47till I found a psychiatrist
38:49that would listen to me
38:50and, you know,
38:51I haven't drank since then.
38:53I haven't done anything
38:54whatsoever to harm myself.
38:57The last time
38:58was the last time
38:59and in the last few years
39:01I was diagnosed
39:01with PTSD
39:02from what happened
39:03in WCW.
39:05Going to therapy
39:06has changed my world.
39:08It's changed my whole world,
39:09my whole outlook
39:10on everything.
39:11It's really helped me a lot.
39:18More Jason.
39:19He's everywhere.
39:21Can't get away from me.
39:23I'm thinking it's in here
39:25with all these magazines
39:26and stuff
39:27but I'm not sure.
39:28Oh yeah,
39:29this is it.
39:30There it is.
39:32and that's my booby popped out
39:34and they thought
39:35that was like
39:36something special.
39:38The feelings of wishing
39:40somebody ill will,
39:41I don't have that anymore.
39:43Life's too short
39:44to be upset.
39:45Missy Hyatt's doing so good now.
39:47Missy is happy,
39:49she's full of life
39:50and both her and I
39:52are very happy.
39:53My name is Matthew Rilbaz
39:55and Missy Hyatt is my life partner
39:57and we love each other very much
39:59and it's a dream come true.
40:04I became a Missy Hyatt fan
40:06when I was younger
40:07and I was completely mesmerized
40:10and I told Missy
40:13when I first met her
40:14that I've loved you
40:15since I was 15 years old.
40:16He told me
40:17that he had my picture
40:18in his locker
40:19and I thought that was sweet.
40:21I thought that was cute.
40:22And here I am.
40:24It's literally storybook stuff.
40:26This is the one
40:27that I had in my locker.
40:30that's this one.
40:31That's funny.
40:33No man has ever
40:35treated me so wonderful.
40:37He completes me.
40:42I'm in a great spot.
40:43I'm so happy right now.
40:46You know what it is?
40:47If you surround yourself
40:48with good people
40:49good things happen.
40:53My friend knows
40:54that I love her to death.
40:56I wouldn't trade her
40:56for anything in the world.
40:58We had not seen each other
40:59for nearly 40 years.
41:01One night I was drunk.
41:03I'm going to be truthful.
41:04And I said
41:05I want to see Melissa
41:06and talk to her.
41:06I miss her.
41:08So I found her phone number
41:10and called her.
41:10She said
41:10how did you get my number?
41:12I said
41:12you know how we are.
41:13If we want something
41:14we're going to find it
41:15and get it.
41:16She said
41:16you're right.
41:17It was like
41:18we never parted.
41:19You know
41:19she's still like
41:20a sister to me.
41:22She does what
41:22she wants to do.
41:23She has a mind
41:24of her own.
41:25You don't tell her
41:26what to do.
41:27You know
41:27she's happy.
41:29Missy has a reputation
41:31for being out there.
41:32And why is that?
41:33Because she is.
41:35Takes a special
41:36kind of crazy
41:37to want to be hated.
41:39And Missy
41:40loved the heat.
41:41You sunshine
41:42your history.
41:43We're talking
41:44out.
41:44Wrestling is always
41:45about getting attention
41:46and Missy Hyatt
41:47was good at that.
41:48Missy Hyatt was a soap opera.
41:50And I'm not saying
41:51that in a negative way.
41:52It's just
41:52she lived the part.
41:53She was the part.
41:57Sometimes the image
41:58just
41:59you carry it with you.
42:01I mean there's
42:01a lot of Missy in me
42:02but like
42:03Missy Hyatt's character
42:04is sure not me.
42:06I don't even
42:07know how to
42:08start this thing.
42:10The greatest lesson
42:11I've learned
42:12is that I'm a lot
42:13stronger
42:13and a lot smarter
42:15than my character.
42:16Oh please.
42:17She is a woman
42:18that got pushed down
42:20had her own life
42:22exposed
42:22but yet
42:24kept fighting
42:25kept making
42:27that money
42:27that was strong
42:29enough
42:29to keep
42:30reinventing herself.
42:33Somebody that knew
42:34how
42:35to work
42:37an ankle.
42:39There's only one
42:40Missy Hyatt.
42:41Gosh.
42:43Yeah.
42:44Missy Hyatt
42:45was of Paris Hilton
42:46before Paris Hilton
42:47was born.
42:48I think I'm messing
42:48up my nail polish.
42:50Missy was the original.
42:53She really did
42:54set up the runway
42:56for how women
42:57were going to be
42:57presented in wrestling.
42:59She understood
43:00what worked
43:00in professional wrestling
43:01and what didn't work
43:02but it was going
43:03to be the next generation
43:04that would really
43:05cash in on that
43:06that fame
43:07that fortune.
43:08Catch my
43:08catch my
43:09I am so not bitter
43:11about wrestling
43:12and my career.
43:13I absolutely
43:14love wrestling.
43:15I love what I did.
43:17I love everything
43:17about it.
43:19Missy Hyatt
43:19was the first woman
43:20to main event
43:21at a large show.
43:23First announcer.
43:24The first lady
43:25of wrestling.
43:26This is the real
43:27first lady
43:28of WCW.
43:29Best dumb
43:30blonde bimbo.
43:32Missy Hyatt.
43:36I got a doll.
43:37I just
43:38had a doll come out.
43:40That's all
43:40I've ever wanted
43:41was an action figure
43:42and I got it.
43:43My ending's
43:44not sad at all.
43:45I'm the luckiest
43:46person in the
43:47whole wide world.
43:47I have the best
43:48boyfriend.
43:49I have the best
43:50friends around me
43:51right now.
43:51I'm having the
43:52time of my life.
43:53It's what Missy
43:54wants, Missy
43:55does get.
43:56Definitely.
