00:38Okay, so Ross Tucker wouldn't be surprised if the Dolphins win.
00:43Paul?
00:44I would be very surprised if the Dolphins won.
00:47I think Paul would be the most surprised.
00:49I think so, yeah.
00:51Doug, the last time the Lions went on a road to face a team as bad as the Dolphins,
00:55they won 45-21 against the Cardinals.
00:58I think the Lions would be okay.
01:00Yeah, but chess pieces, they aren't, the football teams aren't chess pieces.
01:03They don't move the same every week.
01:05Well, the Lions did for three straight weeks.
01:07They were scoring, you know, 3-1, 3-1, 3-1, or whatever it was.
01:10Well, you know, it doesn't happen very often, but.
01:14All right, there it is.
01:16You're really concerned about this.
01:18Well, it's not just me, it's Ross Tucker.
01:22Ross Tucker, whoa, blowing off Ross Tucker's opinion.
01:25That's right.
01:27You don't like Ross Tucker?
01:29Is he on the list or something?
01:30I don't know, I heard he looked number four, chilly as well, so.
01:33No, I honestly, I think the Jack Campbell news is once we hit midweek and Jack Campbell
01:39had that release to let everybody know what's going on, I think it helped put this team
01:44at ease and the team's fired up.
01:46I think this team wants to play for him, rally around him, and have more feel-good moments.
01:53They know that they're in a stretch here where they've got to stack win after win after win.
01:57They finally have these, you know, back-to-back wins on there.
01:59They won these games against the division foes, and now they've got this game against Miami.
02:04They know they can't take it lightly.
02:07Don't have this trap game.
02:09Just mow through them.
02:10Take care of business.
02:11TCB, Doug.
02:13TCB, like Elvis used to say.
02:15Good, right?
02:15We'll see what goes down on Sunday.
02:17I know he was.
02:18The one thing the Dolphins have done, though, is they've actually started to run the ball.
02:22Tim Twentyman did a preview of the game and said they've rushed for 100 yards in five straight
02:26games from weeks two through week seven, and last week, Malik Willis, 21-32, 211 yards
02:32and two touchdowns.
02:34Look, I think when you look at NFL teams, even the bad teams can bite you, but we'll see.
02:43Well, Oli Gordon's had a nice season this year.
02:46He's averaging four and a half yards a carry, but he's also averaging like, you know, 55 yards
02:52a game.
02:53He's gotten most of that lately.
02:55Great.
02:56But he's not a threat out of the backfield in the passing game.
03:00Malik Willis hasn't completed a high percentage of passes.
03:04He's 59% on the season.
03:06His touchdown interception rate is high.
03:09It's six to five.
03:11And he'll take off and run every once in a while, but he's also nursing a groin injury.
03:16He's a full participant in practice.
03:18He's going to play in this game, but is he going to be restricted at all?
03:21He's going to have to think twice about taking off and going because, you know, I got this
03:25groin thing I got to worry about.
03:26Okay.
03:27Well, we'll see how it goes down.
03:292, 4, 8, 5, 3, 9, 97, 97.
03:31No.
03:32Update from Tim Twentyman, DetroitLions.com.
03:35Dan Campbell said he doesn't expect cornerback DJ Reed to play, edge rusher DJ Wanham to play,
03:42or Cade Mays, the center, to play Sunday in Miami.
03:45Of those injuries, probably the least of the concerns is Cade Mays, given the way Drew
03:49Scruggs is playing.
03:50God forbid there's another interior offensive lineman who gets hurt.
03:53DJ Reed, well, we'll see how they line up in the secondary.
04:00DJ Wanham, that hurts.
04:02It does hurt, but this is opportunity time.
04:05And this is time for someone to just seize it, right?
04:10Derek Moore, make the most of your opportunity you're going to get here.
04:13Uh, you're going to have O'Neal get some chances there as well.
04:17Um, they've, they've got some players that are going to get a chance.
04:21And I actually, the name that I was surprised at to, to see, uh, was practice squad, edge
04:26rusher, Anthony Lucas, not Hassanine.
04:29Well, this is from Tim Twentyman's, uh, tech, uh, tweet.
04:33He said, one name Campbell mentioned when asked about Wanham's absence was practice squad,
04:37edge rusher, Anthony Lucas.
04:39We could potentially see Hassanine too.
04:42Okay.
04:42So it's interesting because, you know, Hassanine was all the rage with his performance in one
04:47game in the preseason.
04:49Everybody loved it.
04:50And we haven't seen him.
04:51He's been inactive.
04:51I think the entire season.
04:53Yeah.
04:54And, and here you've got an injury to Wanham and it's like perhaps an afterthought if it's
04:59going to be, uh, Anthony Lucas instead.
05:02I think it's interesting, but Derek Moore is the guy who really has to step up.
05:07This is a second round pick out of Michigan.
05:09He's got a lot of upside and if you're going to ask him to get after the quarterback, get
05:13after the quarterback.
05:15Someone's got to take the mantle and run with it, man.
05:17You know, I don't want to, I don't want to look on Sunday and see that the majority of
05:21the snaps at the other defensive end position is going to be Levi Anzarike.
05:25We've seen that.
05:26Gator, it's time for me to make a humble suggestion, humble suggestion to me or to
05:32the audience, um, to a member of the Detroit lions.
05:35Okay.
05:36Yep.
05:37One thing it does look like is going to happen this week is it looks like Brian branch will
05:41return, right?
05:44Yes.
05:44Here's my humble suggestion.
05:48Brian, take the mouth guard out of the top of your helmet and put it in your mouth.
05:53Please mouth guards.
05:57Yes.
05:57They guard against any injuries to your teeth, but they also as much guard against concussions.
06:03They will help with that.
06:05Yes.
06:05One hundred percent.
06:06I'm glad you brought this up because that was one of my first thoughts.
06:09Humble, humble suggestion.
06:11Watching those guys collide on Sunday is yeah.
06:14Always thought got to keep the mouth guard in.
06:17And I'm amazed at how many NFL players do not have their mouth guards in.
06:22And then you see the concussion rates and how high they are.
06:25Well, yeah, you can reduce that by a percentage if you had the mouth guard in.
06:33Just feels like that would make a lot of sense.
06:37I remember years ago, Mark Spindler.
06:40Spindog was great.
06:41I love Mark.
06:43Gave me a little demonstration one time.
06:45We were talking.
06:46I don't know how this got about.
06:48It was basically about maybe it was fighting because he used with a fist and a punch to
06:53the jaw.
06:54And he demonstrated with me, not by punch me in the jaw, but he says, he goes, holds his
06:58fist up to his face.
07:00And he goes, okay, he goes, hit yourself lightly in the jaw with your mouth open.
07:06Okay.
07:07Okay.
07:07He goes, now clench your teeth and hit your face, hit yourself in the face and the jaw
07:13in the same with the same veracity.
07:16And he'd do it.
07:16And you're like, wow, there's a big difference there.
07:19Yes.
07:20When your teeth are clenched, everything else clenches, you can, you can help reduce the
07:24impact.
07:25If you've got to my boxers, wear mouth guards.
07:28There's a reason for it.
07:30Please do it.
07:32Every player in the league receivers stop running around with the mouth guard dangling out.
07:38I don't understand why, why this, why we're at this point in the NFL.
07:42And maybe I'm, I'm more attuned to this cause I was flagged for it in, in, in high school
07:46for not wearing my mouth guard in on an onside kick.
07:49And I was the kicker in a game where we were down 56 to six with about a minute to
07:59go.
07:59And our coach says, Edison, get out there.
08:03Onside kick.
08:04All right.
08:05Were you the onside kick specialist?
08:06I was.
08:08This is so awesome.
08:09I kicked it.
08:09We recovered it.
08:11And the referee throws the flag up in the air.
08:14And I'm like, what was that for?
08:16And he goes, you didn't have your mouth guard in.
08:18And I said, you can't be serious.
08:20We're losing by 50 points with a minute to go.
08:24And you're going to flag me for not having my mouth guard in when I'm 30 yards away from
08:29the play on an onside kick.
08:31Well, it is a competitive advantage for the kicker not to have their mouth guard in on
08:35an onside kick.
08:36Sure.
08:36Sure.
08:36What a hero.
08:37Okay.
08:37Seriously, Brian Branch, put the mouth guard in the mouth.
08:40That's all.
08:42That's all we ask.
08:44By the way, coming up next hour, the Birchie kid with the very latest from Allen Park.
08:48We'll find out and try and get confirmation that indeed Brian Branch will play.
08:52What's the latest on Kirby Joseph?
08:54Is this team prone to looking past any opponent?
08:57We sure hope not.
