00:03Let's scout the Colts as well.
00:08Let's maybe talk about that first college football playoff rankings.
00:11But, Corey, I want to ask you a question first.
00:13Don't ask me anything right now, Kevin.
00:15Okay.
00:15I'm just joking. Go ahead, buddy. What's up?
00:17Does this feel... I know it's still relevant,
00:20but is there a tiny part of you that, like,
00:22doesn't really want to scout the Colts because you're like, who cares?
00:27Um...
00:28No.
00:29No.
00:29Okay, good.
00:30Because one of the things, I'm an NFL fan,
00:33so I do want to know what Josh Downs is doing.
00:39Right.
00:39I want to know how bad Daniel Jones continues to be
00:43because I made a statement on him very early in his career,
00:47and even though Sam Darnold did come back and stick it to me on that one,
00:52Daniel Jones has once again proven to be what he is,
00:55and Jonathan Taylor's good.
00:57So, a question about Daniel Jones, then.
00:59That was realistically my only concern is,
01:02we have seen him run wild on the Cowboys in the past,
01:07but you go back to this last game.
01:1019 of 28 for a robust 144 yards.
01:14He had a touchdown, but he also had a couple of interceptions.
01:17He missed a few open looks.
01:19He looked rattled.
01:20Even when there was a clean pocket, he was replaced briefly by Anthony Richardson,
01:26but even Anthony Richardson only threw a couple passes, and he got sacked as well.
01:30So, you have problems with the offense.
01:33And then you mentioned Jonathan Taylor, two-fold question, will he still be there,
01:40and will they really use him in this game?
01:44Because obviously, if he were to get hurt, like, that torpedo is a huge trade asset.
01:48So, it's next Tuesday is the trade deadline.
01:53Six days away.
01:55The question of will he still be there is,
02:03they've made it, they've openly said they're interested in taking calls.
02:09Correct.
02:10Maybe not as much as Jim Harbaugh, but...
02:14I think you...
02:16Man, that's a really good question, because you want to run him.
02:20Sure.
02:20You want to run him.
02:21I mean, you've got to prove he's healthy, for one, right?
02:25But for two, you want to run him to show this dude's still good,
02:28because last week stunk for him.
02:30He wasn't very good.
02:32So, maybe you do...
02:34And maybe that's the thing, too,
02:36because you never know who's going to get hurt this weekend.
02:38Right.
02:38Because let's say the Chiefs, who are actively looking for a receiver,
02:44but have Kenneth Walker go out there,
02:47and I know they've got Emmitt Johnson,
02:49and that dude is a...
02:50Like, they're just trying to find ways to get Emmitt Johnson the ball.
02:53But let's say, Kenneth, something happens to Kenneth Walker.
02:57Would you say, if you're the Chiefs, you're like,
03:00Dude, if Jonathan Taylor's there,
03:02we've seen how good this team can be when we have a good run game.
03:06Yeah, I would have to consider it,
03:07especially since it seems like the price is maybe not as high.
03:11Or if you're the Bengals, and Chase Brown gets hurt.
03:14Bengals, I think, would consider it even if Chase is fine.
03:17Or maybe even not just Chase, maybe P. Ryan gets hurt,
03:20and you're like, well, that's our backup, but Chase Brown could be our backup.
03:24Yeah, you know, and that changes your offense completely.
03:27I think Zach Taylor hates throwing the ball, or running the ball.
03:30He just wants to throw it all the time.
03:32But, because he's like, Burrow, I got Burrow.
03:35But I think, like, the Vikings, too, could look at that and say,
03:38you know, how much can we rely on Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones?
03:42So, I think you definitely do run him a little bit, at least.
03:45If you've already fielded some calls.
03:47But you know that this weekend could bring an injury
03:50that could be shocking to some football team.
03:52And for the people who are already concerned that Jonathan Taylor
03:55is going to destroy this team, I get that,
03:58especially since Tyler Algier just won his first
04:01NFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
04:04So, congratulations to the Cowboys defense
04:06for allowing that to happen.
04:08By the way, I forgot to mention, congratulations to Alec.
04:11Jordan Tyson is back at practice today.
04:13Yeah!
04:13So, we'll go from there.
04:15Has Shane Steichen lost this team?
04:19Or is it the decisions they made to trade everyone away
04:24that's lost the team?
04:25Or do you not even think they've lost the team?
04:27Whoever made the decision to keep Daniel Jones lost this team.
04:31Okay.
04:31I'm dead serious about that.
04:33No, I know.
04:33I'm serious.
04:34That was my broadest.
04:36And I am serious about that,
04:38because whoever decided that Daniel Jones was good,
04:43and he deserved that amount of money,
04:46should be fired.
04:47I think they were.
04:48I don't know if Steichen was completely backing that idea, though.
04:52Now, if Steichen was, or if he was just like,
04:55I don't know, yeah, we can play with him.
04:56I'd much rather have somebody else.
05:01But I don't think he's lost the team,
05:04but I don't think anybody in that room
05:05is playing specifically for anything special.
05:09Right.
05:10So I think, you know, if you're the owner-GM,
05:16you can definitely give him more power amongst the room,
05:19but he's got to know how to command that
05:23and really take on, you know, that kind of personality.
05:27One of the things Broadus was talking about yesterday
05:29was being around Sean Payton early in his career
05:31when he was a go-get-coffee guy.
05:33He was like, you could tell
05:35that he was going to be a good head coach, though.
05:37Oh.
05:38He had a personality that people followed,
05:42the way he prepared, the way he did things.
05:45And I think you can always tell
05:46when you spend enough time around people
05:48whether or not they can control a room.
05:50They have Keenan Allen, I guess.
05:56And Keenan Allen's...
05:57I mean, they do have Keenan Allen.
05:58Yeah, he's struggling, you know,
06:01not just because of Daniel Jones,
06:03but also because he's older
06:06and he's just not the same receiver.
06:07I think he's got the shortest amount of yards
06:11per route that he's ever had,
06:13and that's not built into the offense.
06:15That's just part of him.
06:17And you might be thinking,
06:18okay, now I know why they're struggling.
06:20Their offense is just not that good.
06:22Guess what?
06:23Their defense, not that great either.
06:27The Indianapolis Colts have given up 222 points,
06:31the third most in the league,
06:32also more than the Cowboys.
06:35Opponents have also put up
06:36the seventh most yards against them
06:38at 2,748.
06:41Let's take a look at just this last game
06:43when they got absolutely decimated.
06:45Trevor Lawrence generated 15 yards per attempt.
06:50That is the most in a game for him in his career.
06:55So, not riding high.
06:56Yeah, getting the ball back as frequently
06:59as they were, too, doesn't hurt.
07:01You know, we talk about the complimentary football.
07:04That's a big factor.
07:05But Kevin, you talk about a team that can't tackle
07:08when we talk about a lot of teams in the NFL
07:10look like they have tackling problems.
07:12This is one of them.
07:13So, because of that, I want to see...
07:16Because C.J. Allen got a shot on Sunday.
07:19He had 10 tackles in a sack
07:21in a game that was pretty much over.
07:24But you're right.
07:25By far, their most prolific tackler
07:29has been Akeem Davis Gaither.
07:33He has the most tackles on the team,
07:35I think, by quite a few.
07:37And then there's also Sauce Gardner,
07:40who's the biggest name on the defense.
07:43But it really feels like his play has fallen off.
07:47Yeah, he was the alpha early in his career
07:50with the Jets.
07:50Absolutely.
07:51And shortly thereafter,
07:53that's why the Jets traded and moved on from him
07:55because they realized he wasn't the same player anymore.
07:58I'm not...
07:58Look, man, I'm not sure if this is the week
08:01that the Cowboys need to say,
08:02all right, we're running a lot of these switches
08:04and we're running a lot of more mesh
08:06and doing all these active things
08:08to get George Pickens and Seedy open.
08:10Or if this is one of those where they can just go,
08:12no, we can just roll out what we did offensively
08:14last week against the Cardinals.
08:15I wouldn't do that.
08:16Right.
08:17Then again, maybe the Cardinals in that group,
08:21the Jonathan Gannon group,
08:22they seem to know how to shut down the Cowboys.
08:26The Cardinals did it to us last year.
08:27Sure.
08:28So maybe that's just they have something,
08:30but I would hate for the Colts to be like,
08:32hey, let's just copy what they did.
08:33You know what?
08:33And that could be the cure to what ails them.
08:36We talked about the possibility of the Cowboys
08:37now being the get-right game for most people.
08:40One of the names to watch out for
08:41is Adabaware for the Colts.
08:45He is the only player on that roster right now
08:51with more than two sacks.
08:52Of course, the trade of DeForest Buckner
08:54is like one of the reasons for that,
08:56but they have not gotten any pressure.
08:59And obviously the defense has struggled
09:00with the trade of DeForest Buckner,
09:03but that's one name to watch
09:05because if you're going to have somebody
09:06who's going to be creating pressure for the Colts,
09:09my guess would be he's probably going to be
09:12the primary person that could make it happen.
09:15I don't know if this were to devolve
09:20into a battle of field goals,
09:22but if it did,
09:24Spencer Schrader has been quite proficient this season,
09:28especially from deep.
09:29Six of seven for 50-plus yard field goals.
09:32So it feels like if you fall into a battle of field goals,
09:36you've probably already kind of lost this game.
09:39But if it does,
09:41their kicker has been,
09:42he's been very good from long range.
09:45Against the Vikings,
09:47one for three.
09:49Against the Jacksonville Jaguars,
09:520 for 0.
09:53So,
09:54I have a feeling,
09:56Kevin,
09:57he's in a slump.
09:58He didn't even get a chance
09:59in the last one.
10:01I did try to...
10:02The one for three against the Vikings,
10:04that was his lone miss at 50-plus,
10:07and then he hit one that,
10:09obviously,
10:09he probably should have that was close.
10:10I tried to pick him up in fantasy,
10:12and stupid Ryan Flooring got him,
10:14and that's why I had to embarrass
10:15Ryan Flooring this week,
10:16because he took that one player from me
10:18that could have helped me,
10:19but I'm glad I didn't have him.
10:20He went 0 for 0 this week.
10:21But you might be right.
10:22But he's been really good this year.
10:23And those two kicks
10:24are the only two
10:26that he's missed
10:28for field goals all season.
10:30Again,
10:30if you get into that...
10:32I don't think he's missed
10:32an extra point either.
10:33I believe maybe one.
10:35Because they only get like one.
10:36That is a fair point.
10:38But yeah,
10:39if it devolves into that,
10:40I just don't know.
10:41But I think a lot of this game
10:42pivots around
10:42what the usage plan
10:44is going to be
10:45for Jonathan Taylor.
10:46I think what you're going to see,
10:47Kevin,
10:48is the Colts are going to be able
10:48to move the ball against you.
10:49It's whether or not
10:50they can get into that end zone
10:51and whether or not
10:52you can even keep them
10:54from getting into your 30.
10:56Right.
10:56But they are going to be able
10:57to move the ball
10:57with the running game.
10:58They're going to believe
10:59they can too, right?
11:00Do you think they can
11:01if Taylor's like...
11:02They give him,
11:03I don't know,
11:04five or seven carries?
11:05I'll...
11:06No.
11:06I'll think differently about that.
11:08Okay.
11:08Because that's what I think
11:09is going to happen.
11:09But I think that no matter what,
11:11they're going to look at this defense
11:12and what it's done lately
11:13and go,
11:13we think we can do this.
11:14We just got to figure out
11:15how to keep it close.
11:16We just got to figure out
