00:00Let's talk college football.
00:01My Miami Hurricanes are still number one after almost...
00:05A ver, vamos a ver.
00:07Oh, Miami's in the house.
00:10So they won 38-35 against University of North Carolina,
00:14which is now coached by Bill Belichick,
00:16who happens to be single again.
00:18I don't know if you know. Single again.
00:20His very hot, younger girlfriend finally broke up with him
00:23and everybody's happy about it.
00:25So we were happy to escape.
00:26We had a couple of calls.
00:27Luckily for us, the referees were on our side.
00:30But we have a really big game coming up this upcoming weekend
00:33against number four, Notre Dame.
00:34University of Miami versus Notre Dame this Saturday.
00:37It's probably going to decide
00:38who's going to be the national champion, I think.
00:41Georgia is still number two.
00:43They had a fantastic win. Utah is still undefeated.
00:45And then number five, UCLA.
00:47You keep asking me, why are they number five?
00:49UCLA is going up in the rankings.
00:50I love it. They're playing really, really well.
00:52And I guess their schedule is getting a little stronger.
00:55It's getting a little stronger.
00:56So they're moving up in the rankings.
00:58But I got to tell you, their last game of the year
01:00is going to be another battle for our life.
01:02It's going to be the yearly rivalry of UCLA versus USC.
01:05And USC had a huge win.
01:09Okay.
01:10In the rain.
01:10Believe it or not, they played in the Coliseum.
01:12And the Coliseum was packed to the rim.
01:15And they beat Ohio State, which was number two.
01:17And they beat them.
01:18They beat the pants off of them.
01:20Who's the guy that jumped over the defender?
01:23Lalo, what's his name?
01:25It doesn't matter.
01:26But he's a big old white boy, right?
01:28And man, he's eating his fucking cheese.
01:29And then completing the top ten.
01:30Indiana, BYU, Kentucky, Alabama.
01:33Weird to see Alabama that low in the rankings.
01:36Yeah, it is.
01:36Texas, Ohio State, Ole Miss.
01:39A lot of shifting.
01:40Different teams in the top of the rankings.
01:43So many top teams.
01:45I mean, look, you had Texas Tech.
01:46I mean, I'm not too worried.
01:47Being from UCLA, I see USC at 18th.
01:49And I wouldn't be too worried about that.
01:51Well, no, but USC has played a harder schedule.
01:54Okay.
01:54Okay.
01:54So USC is going to come in with the big guns
01:56when they play UCLA.
01:58And then your Gators completing at the 25th.
02:01At 5 or 3.
02:01They have a tough schedule at the SEC.
02:03So I'm excited, you know, if UMK can get past Notre Dame,
02:08we have three easy-ish games to finish.
02:11Then we play the ACC championship.
02:12Yeah.
02:13And then the football players start.
02:14Now, I believe that both Notre Dame and Miami
02:16will make the playoffs regardless of if one of them loses.
02:20So, you know, what do you think about college football?
02:22Because you watch a lot of NFL.
02:24I watch a lot of NFL.
02:25I'm starting to get into college football.
02:27It's one for me is so exciting to watch
02:33how crazy people get around college football.
02:35Even the level of fandom is one of the highest
02:40that I see in America.
02:41It's a higher level of fanatics.
02:42Yeah.
02:42It's a higher level of fanatics.
02:43Exactly.
02:43The fanatism around, it seems in a way closer to football.
02:47Yeah.
02:47That personal connection to the teams is so strong.
02:52And maybe you don't see that much on the NFL side, right?
02:55Like the NFL is a more refined fandom.
02:58It is.
02:58And it's a more refined game in the NFL.
03:00Yeah.
03:00It's more pinpoint.
03:01Whereas in college football, you see crazy formations.
03:04You see momentum swings.
03:05Somebody might be losing by 35 points.
03:07And I think that there's a braggadocio
03:10and there's a creativity to the college football
03:12that there's not in the NFL.
03:14They're much a lot more cautious about it.
03:16That reminds me of how free the game can be
03:18when you allow, you know, kids to be kids and play.
03:21And try to outsmart the other team.
03:24But the element of the NIL name, image, and likeness
03:27has changed things because it's not amateur anymore.
03:30No, no.
03:30And the reality is that it's affecting the whole pipeline, right?
03:33Because now you see kids foregoing the combine,
03:39staying and redshirting as much as they can
03:42to get five, six, seven years of college eligibility
03:44because they're making $5 million a year
03:47out of their name, image, and likeness rights.
03:49And if you go to the NFL, immediately you have
03:52to take the rookie deal.
03:53Right.
03:54So you're going to cut your earnings in 80%.
03:56100%.
03:57All right.
03:57Here we go.
