00:00But let's just start with what this, you know, event and this charitable endeavor, what this
00:06stands for, Jim Langley, just your memories of, you know, him as the head professional at Cypress
00:11Point. I know for me, some of my earliest memories of just the sort of gentle giant, this guy that
00:16stood for all the right things and made Cypress Point, you know, such an inviting place to come
00:21even as one of the greatest golf institutions in the world. What did Jim Langley mean to you
00:27and why is it an honor to be recognized in his name? Well, he was a consummate gentleman that
00:34pervades everything that he did. And his outward appearance was just welcoming and very humble
00:41and a big, big smile and very handsome guy. But he made you feel comfortable. You know, if you were
00:49a visitor or a member, you know, he did everything for Cypress Point. And he, I mean, in every
00:57regard, he made it very, very special. It's certainly everything that he did, everybody knew how special
01:04the place was to him. But you rarely meet somebody who has so much giving, a giving soul as Jim
01:15Langley. He was a great athlete. He was, he excelled in many, many different things. And he had a terrible
01:26accident. And he, but he never, never let that any way outwardly affect him or what he was going to
01:36do.
01:37He just took it in stride and kept going. And what a great example it was to so many people.
01:43And what a great example.
