00:06who is more likely to return to prominence in college football?
00:14Maybe not to the degree that we knew them,
00:16like Florida State in their 14 straight years winning 10 games
00:20or whatever it was, or 11 games,
00:22but getting back into that conversation where they're at the top of the ACC.
00:26I would say I'm going to lift Florida State
00:30because I've seen them do it multiple times after Bobby Bowden.
00:35You know, like the Jimbo run was fantastic.
00:39They had NFL players.
00:40I mean, Jameis Winston was a huge part of that,
00:43but they had NFL draft picks.
00:44That team that won the national title,
00:46despite the controversy around Jameis Winston, was unbelievable.
00:50You know, they were putting up 45 points per game.
00:54And then they did it again with Norvell a couple years ago.
00:57It's crazy to think that they really haven't recovered
00:59from the college football playoff snub from that undefeated team
01:03and Jordan Travis's injury.
01:05So they've got the talent, the resources.
01:07The one thing with Florida,
01:09it seems like there's a revolving door between Florida State, Florida, and Miami.
01:15And, you know, they kind of take turns being the best of the three.
01:18Right now, Miami is that team.
01:20I think Florida, we'll see how Jones Sumrall does there,
01:24but they've been a huge mess in recent seasons in the SEC.
01:28And I think Florida State, there's always that opportunity to get back.
01:31And I just think where they're situated, the recruiting there,
01:34all it takes is the right coach.
01:37And Mike Norvell still could be that guy,
01:39but they can't have another losing season this year.
01:41They might have to look somewhere else.
01:43And that's what people forget.
01:44I mean, they won the national championship in 13
01:47with Jimbo Fisher and Jameis Winston.
01:49They've made it back to the playoff the next year
01:51and lost to Oregon in the first round.
01:53Then they probably, assuming there wasn't the injury,
01:57probably make it again with Mike Norvell there.
02:00And it's just been wild to watch the roller coasters up and down.
02:03I'm inclined to believe that Florida State has a better shot.
02:06I think the funding might be a little bit of an issue.
02:09I don't know that they have the strongest NIL right now,
02:12but I think part of that is maybe there isn't a lot of belief in Mike Norvell.
02:17And so the balancing of, can you fire your coach?
02:19How much do you have to pay him?
02:21What does that look like?
02:22All of that comes into play.
02:24I, Loddix, I have one more with this
02:27because it popped into my mind.
02:29Lift it or leave it, USC makes the playoff this year.
02:33I'm going to lift it.
02:34And I'm going to, they have to get through a three-game stretch
02:38where they play Oregon, Penn State, and Washington.
02:41They do play Ohio State.
02:42So you take those four games, if they go two and two,
02:46somehow beat Washington, Penn State might be a whiteout.
02:49That would be a tough game.
02:50They could beat one of those other teams
02:52or even be at nine and three with that strength of schedule.
