00:00What do you make of the future for Brian Schottenheimer in Dallas after another disgusting loss for the Cowboys?
00:07As I mentioned in the opening line, the loss to the Bucs at home as 12.5-point favorites was
00:12bad enough.
00:12Now they were 6.5-point home favorites against the Cardinals, and they blow a 14-point fourth-quarter lead
00:18at home
00:19with Gardner Minshew coming off the bench and coming out of nowhere to rip apart that Cowboys defense
00:25that thought the game was over and it clearly was not.
00:28What is Schottenheimer's future in your mind?
00:31Fired, but I don't think it's until the end of the season.
00:34Jerry, I don't think he's going to pull the plug because he's invested so many resources.
00:38So the other thing about it, the NFC East outside of the Giants, and we get to throw them as
00:43a 50-50 coin flip,
00:45the NFC East is a total freaking mess.
00:47So the Commanders aren't going anywhere, the Eagles aren't going anywhere.
00:51So you're looking at, even in the Cowboys where they sit, you're looking at an NFC East that's like,
00:55oh, this is still winnable. We could still do this.
00:59So I think Schottenheimer probably goes to the season.
01:02If they don't win the East, they don't make the playoffs, he's gone because Jerry's invested so much.
01:07And the other part about this is I don't think this is really like,
01:11I'm not saying Schottenheimer is an amazing head coach,
01:14but the defense has been a problem and it remains a problem.
01:17Christian Parker has not solved any problem.
01:19All of the veteran talent that they keep pouring into this defense.
01:23Quinnen Williams has not solved their run defense.
01:25Joey Porter Jr. has not solved their pass defense.
01:28Selecting Caleb Downs has not solved their pass defense.
01:31So it's like every addition they have made has not been, it hasn't solved any of the problems.
01:39And so it's like, is this a Schottenheimer problem?
01:42Probably to some extent.
01:44Like, you know, I don't think he's like an elite leader of men,
01:46but I don't think he's a horrible head coach.
01:48The defense is still and has been and continues to be the biggest Achilles heel this entire like operation.
01:55It's really interesting look, I think, from a Cowboy fan perspective,
02:00because if you are going to win the division,
02:02you weren't going to have kind of an easier path than this year.
02:05The Eagles are done.
02:06The commanders are out, busted and broken.
02:09And the Cowboys and the Giants have been, you know,
02:12without their starting quarterback and now running with J.J. McCarthy.
02:15So, like, if you're a Cowboy fan, you're like, this is the year for us to go ahead and take
02:19care of business,
02:20win the division, go to the playoffs, have a successful season.
02:23And Dak even said it's, you know, it's Super Bowl or bust, let alone playoffs or bust for this roster.
02:28And they may not make the playoffs, D-Bro.
02:31Like, they forget the Super Bowl.
02:33Yeah, I mean, they might not because this defense is letting them.
02:37And, again, going back to, like, how we originally, like, started this conversation and framing of this.
02:43Them losing the lead in the fourth quarter.
02:45Yeah, sure, you could say that, like, that's the offense who put that on Schottenheimer.
02:49Bro, when you're putting up 30 points or close to 30 points, that's not the offense's problem.
02:55That is the defense.
02:56The defense having no killer instinct.
02:59The defense not shutting down a Garter Minshew-led offense and Tyler freaking Algier who looks like the next coming
03:07of freaking Walter Payton.
03:09Like, come on, man.
03:10Like, let's at least, like, lay blame where it's supposed to be.
03:13Christian Parker.
03:14I don't, like, I'm puffing praise and hope and hype.
03:17Bro, you've been bad.
03:18You've been really, really freaking bad.
03:21Team's been awful.
