00:00Cowboys-Packers, that was a game that a lot of people were pretty hyped about.
00:04Oh my God, these two teams that are kind of trying to find their footing.
00:07Well, the Packers absolutely dominated the Cowboys.
00:10I mean, it was 17-0 at the half.
00:12Two DAC interceptions.
00:14Dallas didn't score its second touchdown until 44 seconds were left in the entire football game.
00:19The Packers are 4-2.
00:20They've won three straight now.
00:22Their offense looks a lot different.
00:23Their defense is doing some things.
00:26I'm not going to say they're doing a lot,
00:27but starting to have some good thoughts about the Packers as we move by.
00:32And listen, they'll get Micah Parsons back at some point,
00:35so that'll add to that defense.
00:36I thought their defense was really good against this Dallas Cowboys team,
00:39but it also goes back to this Cowboys team
00:42and the issues that they're having with their offense.
00:45We talked about the Rams and how bad they looked.
00:47The Cowboys have looked atrocious over the past couple.
00:50They were two straight losses.
00:51The Cowboys are 2-4.
00:53So now you have the Eagles at 2-4, the Rams at 2-4,
00:56the Cowboys at 2-4.
01:00John, what are your thoughts here on this?
01:02Let's hit the Cowboys first because we all thought that the offense would be really good.
01:07We're just like, oh, they're going to get beat on defense.
01:09Now their offense is just not good either.
01:13If you were around, I think it was last year, if I'm not mistaken,
01:18when they hired Schottenheimer, and the name felt nostalgic,
01:24the credentials didn't match up.
01:26The Dallas Cowboys is a big boy job,
01:30but Jerry Jones can't seem to hire big boys to take the job.
01:35What you're watching is an owner with every luxury in the world at his feet.
01:43But he goes economy on head coach every single flight.
01:47And it makes absolutely no sense.
01:50He could have given Ben Johnson more money than Ben Johnson could even possibly think about refusing.
01:55He chose not to because you know why?
01:57Jerry Jones can't have anybody else be the star.
02:00There have been multiple occasions where Jerry Jones could have hired somebody
02:05with a coaching credential that's undeniable.
02:08But he would rather go with the person that will always live under Jerry's thumb.
02:15The Cowboys have every amenity in that stadium.
02:18He gets them every amenity on every flight, every trip.
02:22They have a first-class organization.
02:26They keep getting a last-row in economy head coach.
02:30And it shows.
02:31This is why they cannot win the big game.
02:34This is why they haven't won a Super Bowl since Jimmy Johnson's players in 1996.
02:44And John, the coach after the game, Brian Schottenheimer, what he told his players,
02:49the effort is right.
02:50The fight is right.
02:51The mistakes are killing us.
02:52Repeating mistakes is not what we're about.
02:54But apparently it is.
02:56Because, I mean, it's much like I said with the Rams, where there are issues that I'm
03:03seeing with teams that I don't think are fixable this season.
03:07Correct.
03:08There's tendencies that I see that you have to wait until the offseason to address.
03:12Now, let's just say the Cowboys keep losing here and they have a really bad record heading
03:17into, I don't know, December.
03:19I feel like this is a mid-season firing candidate.
03:23I don't think the, do you think the Cowboys, do you think Jerry Jones would do that?
03:27Make an in-season firing?
03:29I don't see it, but I think he could be a candidate for it.
03:32If they are this bad, like in a season, might I add, where the NFC East is as, I wouldn't
03:38say winnable, but it's there for the taking for anybody to take.
03:42And they're underperforming in a season like this.
03:45But here's the thing, they're not, but this is the thing, and this is what troubles me
03:50the most about the Cowboys, because trust me, I watch television, they're everywhere.
03:55They're not bad.
03:58They're just not good enough.
04:00They lost to the Giants first game.
04:02This is the amount of points they've scored every game.
04:0520, 37, 31, 34, 16, 13.
04:11It's not that they're bad.
04:15They're just not good enough.
04:17You can see where they fall short in cases of coaching time and time and time again.
04:24The defense has been bad, period.
04:27The defense was bad when they had Micah Parsons.
04:29So this is not about Micah Parsons.
04:31They traded Micah Parsons for a reason.
04:33They couldn't get stops with him on the field.
04:36So him not being there is not the result in why their defense is bad.
04:41They don't have the proper coaching because they have talent on defense.
04:47They've got some of the best talent on offense.
04:50They're just not good enough in the coaching department.
04:55And this is the only sport that we have left in this country where coaching matters almost
05:01as much as the players.
05:03If you've got great coaching and subpar players, you're going to get a medium performance.
05:08If you've got great players and subpar coaching, you're the Dallas Cowboys.
05:13You're good.
05:14You're not bad.
05:16You're not good enough, though.
