00:03This Bills team, we were alluding to it.
00:05This Bills team beat the Texans in week one.
00:07It was an incredible finish.
00:09But this Cowboys team, we always knew they could play some offense, John.
00:15We always knew they could put their points on the board.
00:17All they needed to do was hold their team to a little bit less than they would score.
00:21And hey, they did it.
00:22They held the Texans to 30.
00:25The Texans team that is now 0-4, by the way.
00:29The Arch team, a lot of people are like, ah, just take for Arch.
00:32You don't have to pay C.J. Stroud all that money.
00:34Just get a high draft pick.
00:36Anyways, that's a different conversation.
00:37But Dak Prescott, 32 of 45, 335.
00:41C.D. Lamb, he had 17 receptions for 189 yards in the game-winning touchdown.
00:48Javante Williams was fantastic.
00:51Dallas trailed 16-6 at halftime.
00:55And they scored 28 points in the second half, John.
00:59Houston fought, though.
01:00Like, Houston eventually, I think they regained the lead 30-27.
01:03Then the Cowboys went on that game-winning drive.
01:05Like, what do you think about this?
01:07Like, obviously, this is how the Cowboys are probably going to win games.
01:09But this was a really cool game.
01:12This was a fun game to watch.
01:14And I'm starting to think, no matter what, C.J. Stroud, it may not be his fault at times.
01:19But he doesn't know how to win these games.
01:22Because C.J. Stroud had a great game.
01:27Statistically, if you look at it from an eyeball perspective, I thought he played a really good game as I
01:31watched it.

01:32I mean, he had 347 passing yards.
01:36But the bigger question I leave this game with, is it over for the Texans' defense?
01:43Yeah, that's a good point.
01:46We've now seen Josh Allen tear them up in a certain way.
01:49And now we've seen Dak Prescott tear them up in a certain way.
01:51We saw C.D. Lamb eat their secondary alive.
01:55Yeah.
01:55So, at some point, we've got to start looking around the room.
01:58They're 0-4.
02:00And not like, oh, man, you almost had an 0-4.
02:04Like an ugly 0-4.
02:06Like not being able to close the door 0-4.
02:09And, again, previously, a lot of this was on C.J. Stroud.
02:13Today wasn't on C.J. Stroud.
02:14Today was on that defense.
02:16They scored, and they put the defense, their moneymaker, back on that field to close the door on the Dallas
02:23Cowboys,
02:24who, again, has great offense, but that defense is supposed to be able to close the door.
02:29And it didn't, just like it didn't against Josh Allen, it didn't close the door again today.
02:35So, I leave this game asking the question of are the Houston Texans over
02:42because that defense did not transfer from last year to this year.
02:45And then, you know, we've talked about this too, John.
02:48The question now becomes, okay, well, you know, D'Amico Ryans is a defensive guy.
02:54Like, this team should be awesome on defense.
02:56If they're going to hang their hat on anything, it should be on the defensive end.
02:59Do you put any blame on D'Amico Ryans?
03:02Or do you just think, like, what do you think is going on with this team?
03:05Because you look around their defensive roster, and it's like, man, they got Will Anderson,
03:09who's playing like a freaking beast right now.
03:11You have a lot of good pieces here.
03:15And you're just, you're not that good.
03:17Like, yeah, you can, you know, reputation and all that stuff.
03:21But the Texans' defense hasn't been good so far.
03:24And you can make the case that week one, that really wasn't C.J. Stroud's fault.
03:28Yeah, he had that bad, you know, turnover at the end.
03:30But still, but John, like, they're putting up points.
03:33And in some of these games, their defense is just not doing it for them.
03:37So, is that D'Amico Ryans?

03:43Colts, 19-17.
03:44Nah, I wouldn't say they're putting up points.
03:46But what I will agree with you.
03:47But in week one and week four, I mean, boy, they put a 30 and 30.

03:52And I think, I think they had 30 today.

03:56They had 30 today and they had 31 in week one.

03:58So, what I will say is this, though.
04:01If you're the defensive head coach, your side of the ball has to come through in that moment.

04:08If this was an offensive coach and you kept giving up those points, okay, you got some leeway in my
04:13book because that's not your side of the ball.
04:15Your side of the ball has to be buttoned up.
04:17If you're the head coach and you're a defensive head coach and most of your money is on defense, then
04:23you got to come off that field with a win for your defense.
04:26End of story.

04:30You've got to leave the field with a win if your defense's job is to turn the water off.
04:36And they could not, again, against the Dallas Cowboys, just like in the heat of the moment, they couldn't do
04:42it against Josh Allen.
04:43We all gave them a reprieve because it is Josh Allen.
04:48But Dak Prescott shouldn't have been able to, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb shouldn't have been able to cook y

04:55At some point, somebody has to go, all right, we're going to double CeeDee Lamb.
04:59He doesn't get another catch.
05:01Let George Pickens beat us.
05:02At least even the catches out.
05:04Like, that's rough.
05:06You can't, you just, on your side of the ball as a head coach, you cannot get cooked like that.
05:10Yeah, and, you know, he said after the game, it wasn't good enough.
05:15Like, he said, the offense goes out and plays like they played to give us 30 points.
05:19Defensively, we have to find a way to close that game out.
05:21Like, you know, it's very true.
05:24I just don't know what changes they make because you have the personnel that you had from last year.
05:29And last year was a menacing defense.
05:30And that's why a lot of people had these high hopes coming in.
05:33Well, C.J. Stroud in a contract year.
05:35And this defense with, you know, this experience that they've had.
05:38They went to the playoffs and D'Amico Ryans is one of the best coaches in the league.
05:42And it's just been a disaster.
05:43Now, I feel like maybe it'll fall on him.
