00:00So we have not had an undefeated team in the National Football League since 1972.
00:04That, of course, was the Miami Dolphins.
00:06Now, of course, the New England Patriots came very close to that,
00:09but ended up losing in the Super Bowl.
00:11But I don't suspect anybody has those aspirations for the Minnesota Vikings,
00:15statistically speaking, outside of their defense,
00:18really ranking near the bottom of everything in the NFL.
00:20So maybe better to be a little bit lucky than good.
00:24But honestly, Joe, on the other side of the football today,
00:26are the Detroit Lions worthy of being three, three and a half favorites against this team?
00:31I don't know.
00:32The Lions wins haven't been impressive at all.
00:35Take a look at their schedule this season.
00:37They haven't beaten anybody good in a year.
00:39I mean, the Packers win may have been their best win since September of last year.
00:44So, boy, I got to tell you, this is a real, real tough one to call.
00:48And as much as I want to crap all over Minnesota and not believe that they're going to go far,
00:52I got to tell you, Joe, I think they got a shot to win this game today.
00:55I'm just, you know, I'm really just not in on the Lions anymore.
00:58I think they missed the window.
01:00I think, you know, they could be 9 and 8 or 10 and 7 or something like that.
01:03But I don't know.
01:05I'm just, I'm not feeling Detroit at all.
01:08Well, I can tell you this.
01:09I think the best value is certainly the Vikings on the money line here in this one.
01:13That's where I would want to live in terms of wagering.
01:15I will say, too, a lot of people asking me, I got so many questions all week.
01:19And this morning on my live stream on my fandom NFL show on YouTube,
01:22got a ton of questions about Jared Goff.
01:23Do I start Jared Goff, do I play this guy, that guy?
01:25And I'm like, look, you play Jared Goff.
01:27Jared Goff has been terrific this year.
01:29So for some of the deficits of the Lions, let's take a pause and just acknowledge 14 touchdowns,
01:34no interceptions for Jared Goff this year.
01:37Yes, the Minnesota Vikings defense is rushing at an all-time rate.
01:40We're talking about a 77% rush rate.
01:41That's insane, right, in terms of how much blitz they're bringing and how frequent it is.
01:45But if there is a team that is built to kind of offset this, it is the Detroit Lions.
01:49The Detroit Lions can dump off passes all day long to Jameer Gibbs.
01:53They can run jet sweeps with J-Mo and with Amon Ross St. Brown.
01:56They have a great tight end on the outlet there to get rid of the football quickly.
01:59So as long as Jared Goff is out there in shotgun getting rid of the football fast
02:02and they're equipped for this, I think they can kind of at least temper
02:06a little bit of that aggression from the Minnesota Vikings.
02:09On the flip side, look, the Vikings offense is a lot to prove.
02:12I want to see Jordan Mason go out there and have a good game today.
02:14I want to see Justin Jefferson start to put up some big numbers to Kyler Murray has yet to make.
02:19I think the progress any of us had hoped that he would.
02:22So that's a little underwhelming.
02:23At the end of the day, I do think the Vikings defense makes a play or two that kind of
02:26turned this game.
02:27But I'm with you to have the confidence in the Detroit Lions is tough,
02:32even though they did get a little healthier last week.
02:34And he did see that kind of bring that total down a little bit in the secondary
02:37because that's been killing them all year.
02:39So health there is better.
02:41Jared Goff is still a start for me.
02:43He's still a QB one this week.
02:44But, I mean, look, he put up 19 points last year against Minnesota in their own building there in Detroit.
02:50And I think he could do it again this week.
02:51I'm just waiting for Minnesota to show me what they're going to do offensively, too,
02:54because it's been a little underwhelming there also.
02:56They may not show anything the whole year, and then we'll just have to wait until the playoffs.
03:00But they could still win their 11 games, win the division.
03:03And we see this in the NFL.
03:04Some teams, you know, a lot of people comparing to Indianapolis a year ago, I feel that's very similar.
03:09I do.
03:09I feel like it's a similar situation where it's hard to really buy in.
03:12But that's the line today.
