Your morning cup might be bringing you more than caffeine. Coffee is one of the most heavily sprayed crops out there, and those chemicals can stick around.

A study out of the Dominican Republic looked at coffee farm workers who handled pesticides and compared them with people working on organic farms. The workers exposed to pesticides showed a lot more damage at the cellular level.

That research was about the folks growing the beans, not the people drinking the coffee. Still, it made me think harder about what I'm brewing every morning. I'd rather my coffee give me energy than add to the load my body has to deal with, so I pay attention to where my beans come from.

Let's get healthy together.
