00:00On my vision board, I had written that I wanted to perform at the White House, and one day
00:05I walked into my mom's office.
00:07She tells me that she got an email that said, the White House, like it had no name, it just
00:12said White House.
00:20My name is DJ Beauty and the Beats.
00:22I am 16 years old, and I am a female DJ.
00:26When I was younger, I tried out, you know, guitar, piano, drums, but nothing was really
00:31fitting.
00:32Both of my parents had an event that they put on called the Untamed Tongues, where poets
00:36would come on, rappers would come on, DJs would perform, visual artists, and the DJs always
00:41caught my attention.
00:42And at one point, one of the DJs actually let me try out scratching on one of his turntables,
00:48and I was immediately hooked from then on.
00:50And I taught myself how to DJ off of YouTube.
00:54My big break was performing at the White House for President Barack Obama and First
00:58Lady Michelle Obama.
00:59There were a lot of people in the yard, and there were celebrities there, Jim Carrey, Disney
01:04Channel stars.
01:06It was just a night to remember, really.
01:09Fame and success are really two different things.
01:12So my goal is to be successful.
01:13I don't consider myself famous yet, but to me, successful is to, you know, do what you love
01:22to do.
01:23To be from Generation Z means to do whatever you put your mind to, because now that we are
01:29in the age of technology, we're really able to do certain things that other generations
01:34didn't even think of doing.
01:38To be on the Z list means to be an influencer and to want to help others.
01:43With my influence, I want to be able to uplift children and women, and I want to be something
01:49that they look at, something that they see on social media and think positively of.
01:54Kids need to start now with what they're doing because it's way easier to start when you're
01:58young than to start when you're older.
02:00I feel very powerful with everything that I'm doing because even when I'm on Instagram,
02:05sometimes I get people who contact me in my DM saying that I've uplifted them or I've
02:11shown them that kids can do anything they put their mind to.
