00:04So I have three co-workers here who each have very different skin tones, but one
00:08very common problem, which is the difficulty of finding foundations at
00:12the drugstore that match them. I got three foundations from the drugstore
00:15that I personally really like, that I think you might be familiar with, and I'm
00:19going to help my friends get color matched. We both know that it's really
00:24hard to find drugs or foundation that matches. What would you say is your
00:27like biggest problem? My biggest problem is that I'm pretty pale and sort of
00:31neutral toned, and I have a lot of trouble finding drugstore shades that
00:35match without being able to test them all. A lot of them turn out too yellow on me
00:39or just too dark. It's just a little bit too yellow or too pink, and it's like
00:43dries out my skin a lot. Especially being someone obviously with brown skin, the
00:47choices are just a little more limited. So when I'm going in, I'm having, you know,
00:50scour the shelves to look for something that'll match my skin tone, and you don't
00:54have the option to try on, which makes it even harder.
00:56I got a few foundations for you.
00:59So we have a warmer skin tone, but if you guys don't know how to figure it out, you
01:04can test it really easily, and I like to call it the vein test. Depending on what
01:08color your veins are, that will help you determine your undertone. So my veins are
01:13kind of bluish and greenish. If you have blue veins, it means that you kind of have a rosier, pinker
01:19undertone. If they're green, you have more of a yellow base undertone. If you have a mixture of the
01:23two, you have a more neutral skin tone, which means you can kind of get away with wearing either kind
01:29of foundation. Mine are definitely on the green side. So you definitely have more of a yellow
01:33undertone, so you might want to gravitate toward more yellow, less pink foundations. You have a lot
01:39of green here as well. I think that you obviously know that you like yellow foundations already, so
01:44we should try to test these out.
01:48Let's start with the lightest one. This is Ivory. I think I'll go with the darker tone first.
01:52I think I can use some of these to sort of blend out and lighten them to match me. Yeah.
01:56So most people think that you can swatch your foundation on your hand and you're good to go.
02:01That's not always the case. You know, different colors of our skin on different parts of our body,
02:05so I always think that if you want to get a true face and neck match, you want to do
02:10it on your
02:11jaw line here. Yes. Perfect. And then do it to the next foundation you have. And then you do it
02:19to the
02:19last foundation. So let's see if we blend them into your skin, what kind of effect that has. You're
02:27going to want to go with the foundation that just disappears into your skin. It looks like I don't
02:32even have any makeup on in this second one. Exactly. I think that might be the winner. I think that's
02:36the
02:36winner. The Warm Nude Beige. I think this one's working best. It's blending in really nice. Yeah,
02:40the one that's blending into your skin right away. The other one was a little bit too Ivory,
02:44and the other one was too dark. I think that beautifully bronze shade is a pretty good match
02:47for you. I think this is my match. I'm pretty excited about trying it out. I know. I'm excited
02:52to see what it looks like because it'll give us a better picture.
03:01How do you like it? So I really like this because it's really lightweight. I've been using the same
03:06makeup since high school, and so it's kind of nice finding like a new foundation that's
03:11blending with my skin, feels light and not too heavy. What do you think? Nancy has amazing skin
03:17to begin with. Thank you. Does she need foundation? No. Now that I have a drugstore brand that's a pretty
03:23perfect match, honestly, I think I could try doing drugstore foundations and concealers. It's sort of the
03:30one thing I've stayed away from in the drugstore realm where I love mascaras. It's really blending into
03:35your skin really well. What are your overall thoughts? Would you purchase this foundation?
03:39Yeah, I think it's a great substitute for what my higher end powder would be. It's definitely
03:45cost efficient. It's under 10 bucks. And what's so great about it being such an affordable foundation
03:49is you can buy a few and, you know, throughout the year, if you need to color match, if you
03:52need to
03:53mix the foundations, it's really easy to. You can just put it on the back of your hand a few
03:56pumps.
03:56Yep. If you're feeling like it's a little bit too light or too dark, you can add a little bit
03:59more of
04:00the darker shade, the lighter shade. So it's really nice to be able to customize your foundation in a way
04:04that isn't going to
