00:10welcome back we start in bridgetown barbados where the calypso girls will face barbados
00:16later tonight in the final match of the america's regional netball world cup qualifiers tonight's
00:21final match against the host was scheduled to be a decider but it is more of a coronation for tnt
00:27that's after the calypso girls decimated the british virgin islands running away 106 to 16
00:33to guarantee their spot at next year's world cup in australia the calypso girls were not only eyeing
00:40a world cup spot with a win over the british virgin islands but a statement win as well
00:45despite resting vets like samantha wallace joseph tnt was ruthless as ever against the bvi yeah at
00:5212 so the goals goes 12 to 2 the hapless bvi woman managed just three goals in the first quarter
00:59as
01:00tnt raised up to 29 side eclipse so girls i think she will have come true from under 16 at
01:06the half
01:06the bvi managed only three more goals with the score as lopsided as ever at 61 to 6. head coach
01:14lisa johnson later confirmed the tactics to dominate the bvi as if they pushed on to 86 12 after three
01:20quarters the performance that is put out i will watch from different the goal was clear to crack
01:26the century mark and then and into the hands two three passes and into the hands of bramble
01:32as that triple figure comes up 100 on the board for calypso gears the margin of victory at the end
01:39was 90 as if the calypso girls won 106 to 16 to set the tone in their coronation as queens
01:45of the
01:45tournament terence clark tv6 sport and after seeing her players execute and deliver on the goal of
01:52cracking 100 goals in the tournament head coach liselle johnson could not hide her joy
01:58let's out looking at that score builder tell me how do you feel about this confidence happy proud
02:06victorious everything possible share some insight while your girl your goals were going into a game
02:12like this tonight for this game what we decided is what we decided as a team is that we are
02:19going to
02:19send a minimum goal per quarter of 25 goals once it is we were able to maintain a good strong
02:25center
02:25court defense and transition the ball as quickly to the shooters we should be able to reach that goal
02:30and i show i as you realize it was evident in the game today so we did stick to what
02:35we set out to do
02:37as for tonight's match against barbados the coach did not reveal any tactics but stated clearly that
02:42the aim is for perfection so what's your plans going into the game tomorrow if you want to give us
02:50any
02:50secrets here in barbados we'll take those too but we know you'll keep those to yourself tomorrow we plan
02:56to just work together as a cohesive unit i believe that in unity there is strength and once we continue
03:02to
03:02go through this the rest of the last game in this tournament together we should be successful um
03:08try to take out whatever negativity that may be around the team at this point in time to put it
03:13aside and for them to remain focused on the goal which is to come out of this tournament with no
03:18lost
03:19games we go from bridgetown to baku azerbaijan where tnt had mixed success on day three of the fifa
03:27under 15 world cup festival tnt had another busy day with two matches in the 40-minute long
03:33eight-a-side tournament the young warriors were overwhelmed by the group leaders egypt falling to
03:39a 4-1 defeat but they bounced back well to crush macau 4-0 with jaden marcel scoring a brace
03:45we have a wrap
03:47after two wins from the opening three matches tnt came up against group leaders egypt
03:54and the egyptians came out firing rockets from minute one umama suru's rocket followed five
04:04musads for a two nil lead and the young pharaohs were well in front after 18 minutes
04:19aiden jones showed determination to pull one back for tnt just before the first 20-minute break
04:28tnt did better defensively to allow just one more goal as they were swamped 4-1 by the north africans
04:39but tnt had a chance to rebound against macau in the second match of the day
04:43and it took them only 17 seconds to seize the advantage through joshua cyrus
04:51the young warriors were exploiting the right flank as aiden jones scored his second goal of the day
04:59and the macau keeper was too casual allowing jaden marcel to pounce scoring the third after 15 minutes
05:12more goals were expected for tnt in the second half but only one came as marcel scored a brace to
05:18complete a 4-1 win as tnt a third in group s with three wins from five matches terence clark
05:30tv6 sport
05:31well as you just heard three wins from five matches thus far head coach randall voice
05:36gave credit to his players while admitting they still have room for improvement i think the guys played
05:42well attended the wins um to manage the games well we expect a little more from them but we quite
05:52comfortable with the three wins out of the five but we know we could have done better how would you
05:58compare the performances in the three wins to the two losses what was the difference obviously the two
06:06losses the teams were um iran were very well organized i think that game could have gone either way because
06:16we had about three clear cut chances still going up to one before they actually get the winner
06:25so i think we just need to concentrate and be disciplined a little more and take our chances
06:32because we could have won that game and the tnt coach is advocating for the adoption of the current
06:38under 15 world cup format which is an eight versus eight affair with 20 minute halves
06:45it's something that i believe that this format of the game is here to stay and i think we are
06:53seeing
06:53it where the caribbean teams are lacking behind in terms of using this format of the game on a more
07:00regular
07:01basis um entire europe and asia use this format at the schools and youth leagues so i think if we
07:13don't
07:14fall in line with this format of the game we will be dominated but we continue to rack up our
07:20frequent
07:21flyer miles as we jet over to bangladesh where the westernies are getting ready to bowl off their
07:26two match test series against the host on wednesday and head coach darren sami made it clear they are
07:32focused on completing the goal they started the season with when we started the test championship
07:39uh when we were quite honest and realistic with ourselves we right where we we we wanted to be and
07:46these next two test matches presents us with a great opportunity to finish the test championship with
07:53with the goal we we started in in 2025 so we're looking forward to the series uh as usual respect
08:00the opposition uh study them come up with plans that could um help us be victorious and um i'm quite
08:08sure
08:09we could come here and and do that but achieving their goals have been made more difficult with
08:14cricket west indies worsen financial status sami has embraced the reality of the austerity measures
08:20facing west indies cricket but he challenges players to incentivize their financial status
08:24by improving the west indies fortunes what i've challenged the guys to do is to you know put
08:32ourselves in a better position to to negotiate and attract sponsors by the performances we put on the
08:38field and i thought you know the white ball teams did that extremely well in india and hopefully we could
08:44you know you know do that uh as a red ball team here in bangladesh and while sami has faced
08:50heavy
08:50criticism in his role as coach he pointed out the success of the west indies track record in 2026.
08:56the expectation is always there you know like i said the way we we've played test cricket this year
09:02we've not lost a series uh this year it's a long time we've gone through a a year
09:07uh without losing a series um and it's our last series in the test championship you know um the
09:14world with the with the message to the guys you know um give it all 10 possible 10 10 days
09:22of of
09:22test cricket left uh in this cycle for us and just go out and give it your all you know
09:27whatever
09:27motivates you you know use that to to go out and get performances but sami will be missing his most
09:33consistent performer in she who for this test series however this illusion said his absence creates an
09:38opportunity for others to step up she hope you know we've seen what he's done you know and since
09:45he's he's played all formats you know he's been excellent for us but so too has justin griffes uh
09:52jungle you know uh john john campbell the way he's improved brandon king coming into into test cricket
10:01you know warican shema joseph you know jayden seals you know so it's it's we don't rely on one person
10:10you know it's a we miss she hope but it's an opportunity for somebody else to step up and and
10:16and you know make a name for themselves terence clark tv6 sport we strap on our running gear now as
10:23the 20th anniversary of the ue spec international half marathon took place yesterday a significant
10:29milestone for the university but also one for alexi kisa who repeated as the men's a champion while
10:35alexia john took the moment's crown six five four three two oh yeah
10:51and just like that the 20th ue half spec international marathon was off and running with
10:57a 13.1 mile course starting at the ue sports and physical education center taking runners along the
11:03priority bus route to la resource junction in dabidi and back and 15 minutes after the marathon started
11:08the 5k got going exactly 17 minutes and 15 seconds later kawani kwamana just managed to edge out jamal
11:23bailey to win the 5k with raheem modest in third while nyla kuh led the woman in 18 minutes and
11:2951 seconds
11:30but coming through the crowd of the 5k runners was the half marathon defending champ alexi keser he stuffed the
11:37clock in one hour nine minutes and 13 seconds followed by teferai waldron and donnell francis
11:42while the first female was alexia john in one hour 30 minutes and 54 seconds with april francis and
11:49celine lestrade finishing second and third respectively and the men's champ alexi keser gave kudos to ue but
11:55would like to see even more competition ue and the organizing committee of the ue half marathon have been doing
12:03best and they have actually done all the years i've been taking part i think uh they can do
12:12uh a little bit more in terms of maybe to bring in more elites from other different uh parts of
12:19the
12:19world that will raise the standard of the event and the female winner alexia john was proud of her
12:25achievement in only her second year of running i'm very excited to be the first place female i came second
12:31last year so i was determined to win the race this year and i'm excited about my personal best i
12:38mean
12:38i didn't do a personal best today but it was a personal best for this course because last year i
12:43ran 133 and i think this year was 130 so i'm excited about that terence clark tv6 sport well if
12:51you love
12:51american football but you're afraid of taking big hits well the trinidad and tobago american flag football
12:57and amateur football association as something that might suit you better the organization launched
13:03american flag football as an option this weekend as it hopes to develop the sport at the grassroots
13:13level can you guess the sport here are a few hints it's fast paced it's skilled but unlike rugby and
13:23american football there's no tackling and if you want to know what flag football is right basically flag
13:28football is just a safer fun version of american tackle football and not just tackle football as american
13:35football as well also you only have rugby too that you play that's tackle but we are this is a
13:40fun game
13:40where instead of tackling second someone to the ground you just pull their flags and that initiates
13:45the tackle so that way you don't have to relax so it's safe for your kids it's always safe to
13:49play
13:50flag football is one of the fastest growing sports in the united states and in the world and to prove
13:55its
13:55growing status the sport will be played at the 2028 summer olympics in los angeles one of the many
14:00reasons behind the launch of the tnt american flag football and amateur football association locally
14:05today we are having a initial launch of our organization which is uh flag football in trans
14:12tobago to grow awareness of the sport in share today our objective today is to make sure that the
14:17kids have a fun uh safe place to play and also like i said to bring awareness of the sport
14:22in different
14:23regions of tonight and tobago uh so today we have a little fun activity with the kids where they can
14:27come
14:28uh do certain drills run certain games do some games and then also have a kind of summer final
14:34game and a championship game as well here on the field the launch took place yesterday at the garden
14:39village recreation ground in dabity and while the ultimate goal may be an olympic dream for those
14:44interested the tta ffa's founder added a few more benefits some of the opportunities that the kids
14:51might have is that if they want to go to colleges locally or internationally they could pursue that
14:56pathway because right now we have two clubs that's running in sawa and also we have a club in ue
15:03at
15:03uni university as well so that's kind of a pathway to the university today as well locally and then
15:08also if you want to do it internationally then the girls but pretty much have a good chance of making
15:13a roster spot in a user in a university form because it's more heavily gained for the for the female
15:19side
15:19of flat football also than that they could also if they're good enough to also make a professional
15:24league which is in america too as well terence clark tv6 sport and football's version of the oscars
15:31happened today as the ballon door recognizes the best players in the sport alexia puteas won her
15:37third women's award while lamin yamal won the young talent award while the men's award went to england's
15:43hurricane as he became the first englishman to win the award since michael owen in 2001.
15:50the ballon door winner is hurricane
16:06for me it's just a journey uh for any young boy or girl wanting to achieve their dreams uh anything
16:13is
16:13possible with hard work when no one else is watching uh to go through the ups and downs to learn
16:19through resilience determination uh and self-belief uh like i said anything is possible so i hope my
16:25journey it wasn't straightforward you know i wasn't the the kid who went straight to the top i had to
16:30experience the downs i'd experience a lot of long moves i had to fight my way to to be the
16:35very best
16:36right now and uh i hope that can uh give you inspiration as well so uh yeah thank you very
16:41much we head over to the nba where luka donchich dropped the first 50 pointer in the nba this season
16:49against the utah jars the lakers needed all 52 of his points along with 10 assists to hold off the
16:55jars 132 to 123. lakers up by three at the break in the third matisse theiple forces the turnover in
17:02the
17:02backcourt saves it from going out of bounds and look at luka just pull it on a three he's feeling
17:07it at this point yeah 85 82 lakers in front luka driving and watch him put on the brakes here
17:14and
17:14able to just sort of bank that shot in between defenders just finding a little seam in there
17:20and the lakers up 97 92 bryson symbol to mark in for the catch and shoot three he had 28
17:26points in the
17:27game at the end of the third the lakers up by three but utah right in this thing in the
17:31fourth
17:32george dancing around the screen hits a go-ahead three he had a double double in this one 24 points
17:3710 assists in the game utah by one but luka just absolutely on a roll step back three is money
17:45and
17:45oh he's talking the fans out there it's 116 apiece at this point then luka passes uses a screen gets
17:52it
17:52back and fires immediately for the three lakers up by five under two minutes to go donchich
18:00hits a three over ace bailey how about these numbers 52 points 10 assists eight rebounds with
18:07eight three-pointers he shot 57 from the field the lakers get it done by nine 132 to 123 well
18:14we get
18:14you caught up on some of the sport headlines from around the globe now as we check out some of
18:19football's classic matches kimmy antonelli is on the verge of his first formula one title and we have
18:25some outdoor ice hockey michael carrick's job as manchester united manager hangs in the balance
18:31after another defeat in the premier league they were thrashed three nil at home by bournemouth which
18:37leaves them eight games without a win just above the relegation places i totally understand the
18:43situation i'm not expecting anything in particular to be honest kilian mbappe scored twice as real
18:49madrid won el clasico 2-1 away at their rivals barcelona it stopped barca becoming the first club
18:54in history to win the opening 10 games of the la liga season but they remain top two points clear
19:00of
19:00atletico and three clear of real who are third from el clasico to el traffico the derby between los
19:07angeles galaxy and lafc lafc fought from two goals down to draw 2-2 but they thought they'd secured a
19:14dramatic win right at the end of stoppage time only for the goal to be ruled out for offside they
19:19did
19:19do enough to get a playoff spot though to another great rivalry in argentina's premier league the
19:26country's most successful side river plate snatched a narrow 1-0 win over racing club it lifts river
19:31plate to fourth in the group with racing struggling in 13th kimmy antonelli is closing in on the formula
19:38one championship after a dominant victory in the us grand prix the 20-year-old will wrap up the title

20:37the
20:37legacy came through
20:43turn it in field shot from distance oh my goodness the spanish midfielder took matters on her own right
