00:00There's no doubt this thing is starting to feel more like there's been some issues going on.
00:05How do you see this thing playing out so far and where we are with the Jalen Hurts Medical Care?
00:11Yeah, I think it's obviously you hit some of the big points there in the story, Dan.
00:16And I think the Eagles have really botched the management of it just from their perspective.
00:21I don't say that as an accusation of anybody doing anything wrong.
00:26But when you're the organization and you trot out a head coach who is a deer in the headlights to
00:32the hungry Philadelphia media and you don't provide any answers to a fan base for a beloved player in Jalen
00:40Hurts, I think you increase the arrow that's aimed at you to begin with.
00:46Now, when it comes to the care and everything, I'm not a doctor and I don't profess to be one,
00:51but I do wonder what went on.
00:53How does a player have a blood clot and how does he get into that game?
00:58How does he fly home from London?
01:00I think all the questions that are being asked right now are 100% valid.
01:06And I wonder if just the precautionary element, you know, and I can liken it to somebody that will miss
01:13tonight's game.
01:14Devontae Smith won't play in tonight's game, Dan.
01:16Why is that?
01:17Well, they're precautionary about the hamstring getting worse, right?
01:21Makes sense.
01:22How are you not somewhat precautionary about a blood clot for your star player putting them in a game out
01:28there?
01:29Now, again, that's above my pay grade when it comes to being a doctor, but I think it's an ugly
01:34situation for Philadelphia.
01:36And I think it's been made a lot worse by their handling of it, certainly the public handling of it.
01:41And we'll see if the fan base lets them know that tonight when the owner gets inducted into the Hall
01:48of Fame, the Eagles Hall of Fame tonight at halftime.
01:51We'll see what the reception for him is tonight.
01:54Xander, do you think that Jalen Hurts has played his last down as a quarterback for the Eagles?
02:03And frankly, I think the situation here could potentially be a bigger reason for that than maybe even the play
02:12or the contract.
02:13I don't know.
02:14You got to wonder if the player has lost confidence.
02:16The player has lost trust.
02:18I was listening to a podcast with Chris Carter, who's talking about not only does this have ramifications for the
02:26player, but typically when something like this happens, the locker room can be fractured a little bit.
02:33The locker room can start to wonder, what's going on?
02:35You know, is this organization really have, you know, us first?
02:39So I think it's more likely now than ever that he played his last game as a Philadelphia Eagle, but
02:45I'm not ready to go there, to go there yet.
02:49Absolutely.
02:49You're talking about medical care for players.
02:52That's always kind of an issue there as well here.
02:54How much accountability do you think Howie Roseman, the general manager, falls on this?
03:00A lot, a ton.
03:02You know, and even if obviously Howie's not going to be the one making medical decisions, but at the very
03:07least, you have to get out and speak to the, as I mentioned earlier in the segment, speak to the
03:13media about this.
03:14Speak to the people who desperately want answers.
03:17You tried out Nick Sirianni, and to me, Sills, Dan, that is, you're hiding behind it, right?
03:24You put Nick Sirianni out there who has nothing.
03:26To me, it's like you're trying to wipe your hands clean and wait for it to go away, you know,
03:31behind the beast of the NFL where they always have games being played.
03:34There's always more things to talk about, and I don't think this story is going to get squashed.
03:38Philadelphia is one of the more passionate fan bases in the league, and they're not letting it go.
03:43And I think Howie, at the very least, should have been at the podium last week to discuss it or
03:49send out a medical guy.
03:50You know, Nick Sirianni, as foolish as sometimes Sirianni makes himself sound, he doesn't have the information.
03:58That's not his role to be able to speak on that.
04:01And there's a contrast even with a former Eagle coach in Andy Reid who, every time there's a medical situation,
04:07he brings out the head of their medical team to discuss those circumstances with the media.
04:12Here you have what seems to be a more extreme circumstance, and you have the coach up there looking around.
04:19Hey, what do I say? I don't know what to say.
04:21You know, and I think that that's a bad look for Howie Roseman as the head of football operations.
04:25He should have got out in front of it and answered the questions on the player.
