00:00I want to go to Lincoln Financial and the mess I saw yesterday.
00:03Two teams and two tales of two teams.
00:06I want to first start it out with the Rams.
00:08Man, they were terrible.
00:10I mean, for about three and a half quarters, Stafford was off.
00:14I mean, the coaching, everything.
00:17And then they were able to rally because the Eagles are a mess right now.
00:21We'll get to them in a minute here.
00:22But, boy, that's not the same football team that I thought was going to just –
00:27I'm not saying they were going to go undefeated, Jacob,
00:29but that's not just Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett being out.
00:34There's something wrong with the way that football team,
00:37how much of that trip, the Australian trip, is still taking a toll on this team?
00:42I think it could certainly be having an impact
00:44because this is an older roster in general.
00:47I mean, Matthew Stafford's one of the older starting quarterbacks in the NFL.
00:50And, frankly speaking, this first month hasn't been his best football.
00:54After his MVP season last year, you know, I think a lot of people expected,
00:58hey, he'll be able to keep that up.
00:59But it's not like he's lost a step or anything,
01:02but he's just a little bit off to start the season.
01:04I know the weather was bad in Philadelphia yesterday,
01:06not using that as an excuse or anything.
01:08But there's been a lot of obstacles for him to overcome between travel,
01:12Puka Dekua being out, the weather in Philly.
01:15So, you know, there's been stuff to overcome.
01:16But it seemed like Sean McVay and that Rams coaching staff was able to kind of get them
01:21to rally at the end of the game there.
01:23That last quarter, they were able to get the win.
01:25So I think this might spark a little something in them.
01:27But I'm right there with you.
01:29This Rams team hasn't been nearly as impressive as I thought they were going to be.
01:33And maybe it's one of those things where they'll come together as the season goes along.
01:37But it could also be that this roster is just a little bit older,
01:40a little bit more banged up than we thought it was going to be.
01:42And they're just not going to be able to be at maybe that peak that we expected
01:46coming into the season.
01:47Like you said, no one was saying they were going undefeated,
01:50but they were a Super Bowl favorite for a reason.
01:53They have a lot of talent there.
01:55It's just a matter of it all coming together,
01:56which it hasn't done through the first four weeks of the season here.
02:00On the flip side, the Eagles, I'm going to read you some numbers here.
02:03You ready?
02:040 for 12 on third down.
02:060 for 17 in the last six quarters.
02:1068 net yards passing.
02:12I get it.
02:14There were a ton of injuries on that football team heading into that game.
02:18And also during that games, I get it.
02:21But I'm watching a guy up in New York and I get it.
02:25It's the Cardinals.
02:25I'm watching John Harbaugh up with answers and have answers.
02:30They lose Brian Burns, their top edge rusher.
02:33They lose their starting quarterback and they've piecemealed a three in one record
02:37in New York, believe it or not, to lead the NFC East.
02:40I mean, Jacob, there were no answers for that Eagle team.
02:44You've got to be able to manufacture with Sean Mannion, the new OC, a first down.
02:50What?
02:51Two or three first downs?
02:52You close out the Rams.
02:54What's going on in Philly?
02:57Yeah, I think we're sort of seeing everything that's been a problem over these last few seasons.
03:01And often the fix has been, hey, we're going to throw a bandaid on this with a new offensive coordinator.
03:06We're going to change things up here.
03:08And granted, some of those times the people have been hired away.
03:11Shane Steich and Kellen Moore, both were offensive coordinators around to Sirianni.
03:14But it just seems like they haven't been able to put the right offensive mind in place to get the
03:19most out of Jalen Hurts.
03:20And Nick Sirianni at this point doesn't seem to be able to figure out what they can do to kind
03:25of get Hurts back to the player he was earlier in his career.
03:29Which is to say, Jalen Hurts was never an elite down the field passer or a guy you want throwing
03:3440 times a game.
03:36But his efficiency and his mobility were his strengths.
03:39So his ability to just distribute the ball accurately to his playmakers.
03:43Those were his strengths.
03:44That hasn't been the case the last couple of years.
03:46And I think he had less than 100 passing yards against the Rams.
03:49He just doesn't seem to be able to see the field, find his playmakers.
03:52So I think it goes from the coaching to the play calling to the quarterback play.
03:57It's all kind of coming to a head.
03:58And then the injuries are just the cherry on top.
04:00So something seems broken in this Eagles offense.
04:03And I'm not really sure how they fix it short of a wholesale change of what they're doing organizationally.
