00:00I've been following this story in Philadelphia for the last 19 days.
00:06In hiring of an offensive coordinator,
00:11I interviewed 18 people did the Philadelphia Eagles.
00:16See, I think the Philadelphia Eagles have this.
00:19I think they have a Nick Sirianni problem.
00:21I don't think they have an offensive coordinator problem.
00:23I think they have a Nick Sirianni problem.
00:26When I look at Nick Sirianni, you know what I see?
00:29I see a guy who's a caboose.
00:32You know what a caboose is in sports?
00:34Charles Barkley says it all the time,
00:37and I love that line that Charles Barkley says.
00:39You're either a bus rider or you're a bus driver.
00:44And I think he's a product of that great franchise
00:47with Howie Roseman, the general manager.
00:50I think Jalen Hurts has figured it out,
00:53and I think Nick Sirianni is a caboose.
00:56So what do they do yesterday?
00:58Actually, on Thursday, they hire a guy.
01:02And Sean Bannon, he comes down from Green Bay.
01:07He has been a coach in the National Football League.
01:11Forget this.
01:13Look at that.
01:1425 months.
01:17He has been a coach for 20, I'll say it again, 25 months.
01:23He's been a coach in the National Football League.
01:27The Eagles land on that.
01:29No experience at any level when it comes to play calling.
01:32The Philadelphia Eagles just fired a guy
01:35because of no play calling experience of Kevin Petullo.
01:38Two years ago, they had Brian Johnson in the building.
01:41No experience.
01:43And if this buffoon, Nick Sirianni, didn't make this hire,
01:46can I tell you what I think the Philadelphia Eagles are getting ready to do?
01:50Okay, Nick, you want your guy?
01:52You bring this guy in?
01:54I think you're on the hot seat now.
01:58I think what that organization has done right now,
02:02okay, Nick, we're going to find out what kind of coach you are.
02:05And I've said this also, that I believe this all week long.
02:10If Nick Sirianni and that Philadelphia Eagle offense in 2026,
02:16if that offense, if they go on to greatness,
02:20Nick Sirianni is going to solidify himself
02:21as one of the best coaches in the National Football League.
02:24If this thing lays an egg in 2026,
02:29Nick Sirianni would be fired by the end of the year.
02:32I believe he's a caboose.
02:34I don't believe he's this savant coach
02:37that many people look with that resume.
02:39And I bring this comparison up all the time.
02:42There was a guy that was a head coach
02:43of the San Francisco 49ers after the Bill Walsh era.
02:47And that guy's name was George Seifert.
02:49Well, let me give you his record.
02:51He was 105 and 35 as the head football coach
02:55of the San Francisco 49ers.
02:58He has two Super Bowl wins.
03:00He went to five conference championship games
03:02during his time and what happened to him
03:05at the end of his time there in San Francisco.
03:08He was fired.
03:09Why?
03:10Because Ed DeBartolo, Carmen Policy,
03:13all of the executives in San Francisco
03:16thought he was a stiff at the end
03:18and that he was a caboose.
03:21How does a guy with 105 wins and 35 losses
03:24think of that?
03:25In eight years of coaching in San Francisco,
03:28that guy's not a pro football Hall of Famer.
03:32That guy's got more victories than Jimmy Johnson.
03:35And he's not in the Hall.
03:37Why?
03:38Well, because he went for a ride
03:40with a great organization that has a great culture.
03:44Nick Sirianni, in my opinion,
03:45again, you land on a dude.
03:47You give Jalen Hurts another coordinator
03:51with no experience.
03:54Make that make sense to me.
03:57Make that make sense.
03:59How does that make sense?
04:01When you're putting a guy with a Super Bowl MVP
04:05and you're trying to get the best out of the guy.
04:09Let me say this about Jalen Hurts
04:11over the last couple of years,
04:12ever since Shane Steichen left
04:13for the Indianapolis Colts head coaching job.
04:16That's when you saw Jalen Hurts at his best,
04:19when he was dual threat.
04:20He was running the football for 800 yards.
04:24He was making defenses and breaking their back,
04:27just unable to defend the guy.
04:30Why?
04:31Because how many times did we see Hurts
04:32in that 22 season where Jalen Hurts was making plays
04:36and he was stretching chains out with his wheels?
04:39If you take the legs away from Jalen Hurts,
04:43he is not an effective passer.
04:45Look at the last two years.
04:46A year ago, even in the Super Bowl year,
04:49they were 28th in passing.
04:51This year, they're 25th in passing.
04:54Explain that.
04:56The passing game has not gotten better.
04:58They have basically regressed in that passing game.
05:02So what do the Eagles do?
05:04And Nick Sirianni,
05:05they go out and they name a guy
05:07who's been a coach for 25 months.
05:10Make that make sense.
05:11Make that make sense.
05:15To me, if I've got a $250 million player,
05:18I'm going to get you the best people
05:20that I possibly can.
05:21I'm going to put the best coordinator
05:23that I possibly can.
05:26Doesn't make sense.
05:27You got a problem in Philly
05:29with the head coach,
05:30not the coordinator,
05:32Nick Sirianni.
05:33You got a problem in Philly.
