00:00Kairos Santos hit the upright, then kicked a career-long field goal.
00:04It happened Thursday night, when the Bears beat the Patriots 30-24 at Soldier Field.
00:10Early in the fourth quarter, Santos hit the right upright on a 53-yarder.
00:15Later, with the Bears up by six and under two minutes left, Caleb Williams took a sack on third down.
00:21Santos said coach Ben Johnson first planned to punt, then changed his mind and asked if he wanted the kick.
00:27From 58 yards, he made it. That's his longest ever, up from 55, and it ties for the third longest
00:34in Soldier Field history.
00:36It put the Bears up nine, and they held on to improve to five and two.
00:41Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, who coached Santos in Tennessee, joked afterward that he didn't want him to make it.
00:48The win came at a cost, though. Tight end Cole Komet was carted off with a right knee injury, and
00:54Johnson said it didn't look good.
00:55The team expects to know more Friday.
00:58Was Johnson right to trust his kicker on that fourth down, or should the Bears have punted?
