04:26This episode, I mentioned at the onset of the show, we've got a lot to talk about.
04:30Let's start with WWE with one of their craziest pitches, I think, of recent memory.
04:35Years ago, 2011, we had Mystico, who is now in CMLL, one of the greatest wrestlers in the
04:41world, he was in WWE portraying the character Sin Cara.
04:45Sin Cara was hyped up so much coming in.
04:48It's like one of the biggest, one of the earliest signings for Triple H when he started to get
04:52involved heavily with creative.
04:54And he came, and it was supposed to be this high-flying, crazy, luchador, you know, depth-defying
04:59stuff, and he kept botching his entrances.
05:03And all the momentum he had coming in was kind of shot and watered down once he started botching
05:08stuff.
05:08At one point, they ended up bringing in Hunico when Sin Cara, the original Sin Cara, portrayed
05:14by Mystico, got suspended for 30 days for a wellness policy violation, I believe, if I
05:19remember correctly.
05:20And then Hunico was portraying Sin Cara, and then eventually you had both of them portraying
05:25the character.
05:26You know, you had two different versions, the good guy, the bad guy.
05:30They had a mask versus mask match, which the original Mystico Sin Cara ended up winning.
05:35Hunico was unmasked.
05:36Um, Sin Cara, the original, was eventually released from WWE.
05:40Hunico would revive the character later, and then he would get released in 2019.
05:44So the character has been gone for quite a while, but now WWE is thinking about bringing
05:48the character back.
05:49They are doing so much with Triple A.
05:51It makes a lot of sense, especially when you consider the fact that the portrayal of the
05:56character is so similar to Mystico, that when you are trying to appeal to that Lucha Libre
06:02audience, that could be very advantageous, and it could get instant credibility with
06:06their fans, because people cheer for what feels familiar, what feels comfortable, and I think
06:11this could be a great opportunity.
06:13I saw an interview with Chris Van Vliet, I believe it was, where Drew McIntyre was joking
06:17about wanting to be the new Sin Cara.
06:19I think that's hilarious.
06:20Obviously, that's not going to happen, but who would you get to portray Sin Cara?

06:27Tell me, who do you think, if WWE brings back the Sin Cara character, who should portray that
06:33character on WWE television?
06:34Should it be a current Luchador?
06:36Should it be somebody already on the roster?
06:37Kind of like Rio and Bravo, or El Grande Americano?
06:41Should we do something like that?
06:42I don't know.
06:43You tell me what you think.
06:44I'm interested to see what your perspective is.
06:46One of the things I mentioned at the beginning of the show is the conversation about a potential
06:52major retirement coming in 2027, and where it is, is there are initial conversations about
06:57Rey Mysterio's retirement to put together something very special for 2027, give him a proper send-off.
07:04We've had interviews in the past where he's mentioned about having a match with Don Mysterio,
07:09you know, and really closing the chapter on that feud, possibly doing something where
07:14he gets to get into ring with both Dom and Aaliyah Mysterio.
07:17I don't know if that'll happen.
07:18I don't really see how you wrap that together and make that work, but at this point, Rey
07:22Mysterio has been such a legend of the business.
07:24He's done so many things.
07:25He's been willing to do anything WWE's asked him to do.
07:28I think when it comes time for him to actually hang up the boots and retire, you give him whatever
07:33he wants.
07:34If he wants to go out with his son, let him do it.
07:36If he wants to go out with his son and his daughter, let him do it.
07:39There's a lot of different ways that you could do this, and I think whatever he asked for,
07:44WWE should try to go out of their way, move sun, moon, and stars if they have to, to make
07:48it happen, because he's trying to earn that level of respect with everything he's done
07:52for them.
07:53TNA Wrestling has a new signee.
07:55It's not a shocker, if you ask me.
07:58At Bound for Glory, the Knockouts Tag Team Championship changed hands.
08:02Zoe Serrano had her mystery tag team partner, Shayna Baszler, come out.
08:06They won the Women's Knockouts Tag Team Championship, and now it has been announced both by Shayna
08:36but congratulations to Shayna Baszler.
08:38When she was doing all the agent stuff for NXT and dabbling with what her next move was
08:44going to be, I was really concerned that she was done wrestling, and I think she has so
08:48much more to offer.
08:50As a matter of fact, I won't be doing a review of Impact Wrestling's episode that is on right
08:55now, just because, frankly, the viewership for that episode the last time I did one was
09:01really not great, so it sounds like it's not something you guys necessarily want to hear
09:05about.
09:06However, I will say that at that taping, she and Zoe Serrano do attack Indi Hartwell and
09:11lay her out, and Shayna Baszler stands tall with the Knockouts Championship in her hand,
09:14so maybe that's something to look at in the future.
09:18Don't know.
09:20NXT, on their November 4th episode, because of election coverage, the NXT show is going
09:26to have to change, and it sounds like it is going to move to Wednesday night head-to-head
09:31with AEW's Blood and Guts episode of Dynamite, and this could be huge, and this is according
09:36to Dave Meltzer.
09:38He thinks that WWE has got a directive to load up that show.
09:42I don't know what you do to load it up, but they want to load that show up because they
09:46want to make sure that, one, obviously a lot of people will be watching the results of
09:50the midterm elections, but a lot of wrestling fans will be really interested in tuning into
09:54that 12-person Blood and Guts match that's supposed to take place over on Dynamite.
09:59So how do you draw viewers away?
10:01Load up NXT, go head-to-head with them, and this is going to be the first major episode
10:06after Halloween Havoc, so perhaps we have some new champions.
10:10Maybe we need new challengers to emerge.
10:12If the champions retain, maybe we need to determine who their next challengers are going to be.
10:16We don't know how they're going to play it out, but this could be very cool because
10:20whenever they have to compete, we get some great action from both shows, and I think
10:25competition is good for business.
10:26It's almost like a mini Monday Night War.
10:28I'm okay with that for a week here and there.
10:30I don't want to see it every week.
10:31I really don't, but once in a while, it's good.
10:35Keeps companies on their toes, and I think that's important, so they keep coming up with
10:38creative new ways to tell their stories.
10:43Sorry about that.
10:43Had a little bit of a cough there.
10:45And the last thing for this episode, something that I don't want to speculate too much on,
10:50but it is being reported, and there was an interview apparently where Cody was talking
10:55about whether or not at WrestleMania we could be seeing Cody Rhodes versus The Rock, and he
11:03was very, how should we say, avoidant of the question, dodging, didn't want to give a straight
11:08answer, and there was reasons for that, and he pretty much made it clear that he believes
11:12that The Rock has a couple matches left to do.
11:15And, you know, if he has a couple left to do, obviously Roman Reigns is one of them.
11:20Cody Rhodes would be a logical other step.
11:22I don't know what else he has beyond those two.
11:24I really don't.
11:26I can't see anybody else being a challenger on the level that would really, it would benefit
11:31them to wrestle The Rock, and The Rock in his mid-50s at this point, I can't imagine he's
11:36going to want to keep doing matches, much less the fact that right now he's filming for
11:40a character where he's portraying an elderly gentleman where his, I know there's a picture
11:46that went viral of him like super, super skinny, which was total AI.
11:49It wasn't accurate.
11:50But he is a little smaller because of getting ready for this role.
11:54Now, can he, you know, go back into the gym and bulk up and look great again?
11:59Probably.
11:59But the question becomes at 50-something years old, how healthy is that for your heart to
12:04add weight, drop weight, add weight, drop weight?
12:06I know when he was doing the Smashing Machine, he bulked up considerably.
12:09He looked great.
12:11How fast can he do that again?
12:13How fast can he put that back on?
12:14Can he do it in time for WrestleMania?
12:15Now, I know Dave Meltzer had mentioned that he thought that his acting schedule and his
12:20movie schedule was going to be prohibitive of him being able to have a match at WrestleMania,
12:26perhaps an appearance on Raw here and there.
12:28But I think if The Rock wants to get something done, he'll get it done.
12:33Cody was very complimentary of The Rock to how he helps out with the board and all that
12:36kind of stuff.
12:37So it'll be curious to see if this actually happens.
12:41I would not be opposed to it, especially since we know that Obafemi and Roman Reigns is
12:46probably the main event for the show.
12:47So it wouldn't be a good year for The Rock to face Roman anyways, because again, you have
12:52a different championship match that people are waiting to see.
12:56This would be a great year to do a Cody Rhodes match.
12:59However, as we put on our previous episode, the word going around right now is from some
13:04internal sources and Jonathan Coachman, who I don't know what you call him, is that the
13:09plan right now is for Cody Rhodes to face CM Punk.
13:13I don't know if that's actually going to happen or not, but that was the word as of
13:16yesterday.
13:17So I don't know how realistic a Rock match is this year, maybe next year.
13:21If you wait till next year, then you're waiting a whole nother year for Roman.
13:24I feel like if The Rock does have what Cody describes as a couple of matches left to do,
13:29you got to get on it sooner than later.
13:31Make it happen one way or another.
13:33Maybe it's not WrestleMania.
13:34Maybe it's SummerSlam or some other pay-per-view.
13:36I don't know.
13:37But we'll have to wait and see.
13:38But for now, that's all the time we have for this episode.
