00:00So Friday, Craig, I believe, will be game one of the World Series, and have they announced
00:07the starters?
00:08I would imagine it's just Miz and Rasmus, and there's no reason to think it's anything
00:13different.
00:14I don't know if they've listed that yet, though.
00:16No, you're right.
00:17That's it.
00:18I mean, they haven't listed anything, but those are the probables, so I would assume
00:22that that's what you'll get.
00:23And then, you know, the only question would be, with the way that Peralta has pitched
00:28for Tampa, would you now want to throw him Saturday in Milwaukee, or do you wait to bring
00:34him back the following Monday?
00:35Seems like that'd be a lot of time off for him.
00:37He's going so good right now that I would guess, I mean, it's tough, though, man, to have to
00:43pitch against your old team in their house in the playoffs.
00:46I mean, I guess so.
00:47So if they do that, then he'd go Saturday, Joe, right, for Tampa.
00:52That's what I would think, right?
00:53And then for Milwaukee, it's pretty simple.
00:55Henderson would go game two.
00:56So I think those are the first two, and then we'll see where they decide to go from there.
01:00Nick Martinez will be involved for the Rays, I'm sure, at some point.
01:04And, you know, Milwaukee gets a little thinner with their pitching after three.
01:09So we'll see what happens.
01:11Yeah, I think Peralta is also going to be the key to this moving forward, too, because
01:19legit number two, I got to cry and see.
01:22I thought he was done.
01:23I really, Brewers moving on from him, number one.
01:26Agreed.
01:27And then what we saw from the Mets was embarrassing.
01:30And then going to Tampa, and all of a sudden, he's a different guy.
01:36Velocity is up.
01:38Change up.
01:39Like, he's...
01:41How much does coaching manage at this level?
01:45How much does it matter, Greg, at this level?
01:47Because whatever Tampa was doing, Milwaukee wasn't for whatever reason.
01:52What is that?
01:55Well, I mean, look, he wasn't horrendous with Milwaukee.
01:58He was horrendous with the Mets.
02:00That's for sure.
02:00He was horrendous with the Mets.
02:02I think, look, it's true.
02:06You would think that when the Brewers let you go, you kind of got to start thinking, ooh,
02:10they let you go for a reason.
02:11But a lot of times, Joe, it's not for that.
02:13It's just money.
02:14They let guys go because they're about to get paid.
02:16And like Corbin Burns, they let him sign somewhere else, or they traded him initially to Baltimore
02:20because they knew they couldn't sign him.
02:21And then he ended up signing that mega deal with Arizona.
02:24So you answered your own question, though.
02:27Like, Tampa Bay just knows what to do.
02:29Like, they get a hold of these guys and get the best out of them.
02:34A lot of times, it's also the hitters.
02:37But they also...
02:38A lot of teams, Cleveland, Milwaukee, they put the guys in the best position to succeed,
02:43whether it's platooning, they just understand how to use the numbers,
02:47how to incorporate their best pitches.
02:49And he's not the only example.
02:51The Rays have been doing this for so many years.
02:53But a great example is, Joe, and it's very easy to do even this year, too.
02:57All you got to do is take a look at who's closing games for the Tampa Bay Rays.
03:01Brian Baker.
03:01Go take a look at Brian Baker's last six years of his career
03:04and tell me that you saw 50 saves and an ERA under two.
03:08Like, I mean, they just, they know how to do it.
03:11And for me, also with Tampa Bay, when they let you go,
03:14when the Rays get rid of you, like, you got to be a little worried about that player.
03:18Because generally, generally, not always, the player doesn't end up doing well.
03:24Now, there are exceptions to the rule.
03:25Rosarena, of course, has been very good.
03:27He's, you know, had a really good year.
03:29And the Rays make bad trades, too.
03:31But they get the best out of their players.
03:35The Brewers get the best out of their players.
03:36The Guardians get the best out of their players because they have such great research and
03:41development, great analytics departments.
03:45And they say culture.
03:47I can't really speak to that because I'm not there every day.
03:49They say that's a big part of it, too.
03:51So you just got to give credit to them for knowing what to do.
03:54And in this case, it ended up working.
03:56The other thing that I would say about those teams, too, that I really like, Joe,
03:59is that they're willing to take time with development.
04:03But, Joe, if they think they've got the most out of you, you know, sell high, that's it.
04:08You know, if they think that that is it for you and they see the very best in you,
04:13you're going to probably end up playing somewhere else next year.
04:17Wow.
04:18And you've got to take that into consideration when you start looking at some of these players,
04:22Greg, right?
04:23Like, why?
04:24It's not always money.
04:25It's also the concept, the Belichick way.
04:29I'd rather get rid of you a year early than a year late, right?
04:33Is that it?
04:33Because if I've got to pay you, then think.
04:37I don't know.
04:37Do you think they would have wanted to keep Snell?
04:42Yeah.
04:42I mean, they were never going to be able to pay him or Glass now, you know?
04:45That's the problem, right?
04:47Yeah.
04:47That's the money example.
04:49Right.
04:49Right.
04:50So the Rays gave – I mean, this is a good trivia one.
04:54It's pretty easy.
04:55You'll remember.
04:56The Rays – they gave two big contracts out.
04:58One is Evan Longoria, who was an all-time Ray.
05:02Didn't finish his career there, but probably the best Tampa Bay Ray in history.
05:06Who was the other $100 million contract they gave out to, Joe?
05:09Who was the other one?
05:10That's the trivia question.
05:11On the Rays?
05:12One other one.
05:13Yes.
05:13They gave one out.
05:17Who was it?
05:20I'll give you a hint.
05:21He's not on their team right now.
05:24Well, that doesn't shock me either.
05:25How about another hint?
05:26How about another hint?
05:27No, he's in a Dominican, like, in jail.
05:30Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about.
05:32Yes.
05:32Or isn't he trying to get back into the league, too?
05:35Or something like that.
05:36He's never going to play ever again.
05:38He's never playing ever again.
05:39Wander Franco.
