00:00If Volpe's back at second, Wells is at catcher, and Jones is at center field, it seems like they are
00:05running it back again.
00:07Ugh, do you think they should trade Volpe and or Jones while their stock is higher than it was in
00:12the past?
00:13Volpe's stock is probably lower than it's ever been, right?
00:16You know, it's just, he's never played consistently well.
00:20He's now going to make some money because it's his second arbitration year.
00:24It's not a ton.
00:25I think Spencer Jones rebuilt a little value, but you'd be surprised.
00:30I'm not saying he doesn't get anything.
00:32If you're the other team, are you just sitting there and going, God, what can we give up to get
00:36Volpe and Jones?
00:38That sounds so intriguing.
00:39I am intrigued by both players.
00:43I'm intrigued that if they're mine, I want to see more of it while not ignoring the trade market.
00:50But if I'm in the trade market, play, you're the general manager of a team that even needs a corner
00:57outfielder where Jones should really play as opposed to center field.
01:00I'll give you something because the upside of it might be 40 homers, 25 steals, and in the corner outfield,
01:08a pretty good defender.
01:10The downside of it is he might Joey Gallo himself out of baseball in the next two years by striking
01:15out 40% of the time.
01:17So really, am I giving up a ton?
01:20Volpe has admirers in the game, many of whom think outside of New York and outside of shortstop, he'd turn
01:27into a good player.
01:28But second basemen generally don't elicit a lot in trade value, and certainly ones that have a track record of
01:35playing well for three weeks and then going into death spirals for two months don't.
01:40I think these two players end up back with the Yankees next year while the Yankees listen.
01:45Carlos LeGranje, Spencer Jones, and something else good for Xavier Edwards.
01:51Like, are you doing that if you're the Yankees?
01:53I don't know.
