00:00Is it worth Anthony Volpe just automatically, boom, you're getting the everyday shortstop role
00:06when a guy like Jose Caballero is playing pretty damn well right now at shortstop for them?
00:10Yeah, I think it's a legitimate question. And I have no, I want to begin this by saying,
00:14I have no inside information on this. This is not something I believe the Yankees will talk
00:18about publicly, but I think Anthony Volpe is somewhat in the Luis Hill vote, which is
00:23you're going to get a shot again here, but it is not an endless shot. While he's doing that,
00:30I believe that Caballero will probably start at shortstop twice a week. I believe he'll probably
00:36start in the outfield or third base or second base another two times a week. And I'd be shocked in
00:43every close game if he's not in the game. While I think his playing time is about to shrink,
00:48I don't think it's about to shrink to zero. There probably is a case to be made that Caballero,
00:53that if Volpe is a major league average player at shortstop, are the Yankees a better team?
01:00Being able to use Caballero as a move it around 10th player weapon, you know, they have some real
01:08depth. And I think what real depth provides is Anthony Volpe in year four does not have the,
01:17hey, you could hit 111 with 35% strikeouts for seven weeks and we're just going to live with it.
01:22I, I think there's options there. And I mean that in both ways, there is an option in that there's
01:28an alternative with Caballero. There also is the option if the Yankees want to send him to the
01:33minor leagues, like they have Hill, like they have Dominguez, like they have Oswaldo Cabrera.
01:38So I think Volpe has to play well.
