00:07For nearly three years, one image of Loki has hung over the MCU.
00:13A man on a throne at the end of time, holding every branch of the multiverse in his hands.
00:19If he lets go, everything dies.
00:22That was the deal.
00:24And now, in a brand new official doomsday poster, that same man is on his feet.
00:30Hands raised, golden crown on his head.
00:32At the back of a war, with Doctor Doom towering over everyone.
00:37So the real question isn't whether Loki fights Victor Von Doom.
00:41It's how the God of Stories is even allowed to leave the chair.
00:45If you want daily MCU videos like this one, hit subscribe.
00:49To see why that poster is such a big deal, we have to rewind to the finale of Loki's second
00:54season.
00:55Loki spent that whole season trying to save the temporal loom.
00:59The machine at the end of time that was supposed to protect the timelines.
01:03It couldn't.
01:04The loom, it turned out, was only ever a failsafe, built to preserve one sacred timeline.
01:10And it was never going to survive a multiverse that kept branching forever.
01:15So, Loki did something nobody saw coming.
01:18He destroyed it.
01:19Then, he gathered the dying branches in his own hands, walked to the throne in the citadel at the end
01:25of time, and sat down.
01:26The branches flared back to life and grew into a vast tree.
01:31A version of Yggdrasil, the world tree from Norse myth.
01:35The God of Mischief had become the God of Stories.
01:38The living anchor of every timeline in the MCU.
01:41And the working rule ever since has been simple.
01:44If Loki leaves that throne, the tree falls.
01:48That's exactly why a rumor earlier this year said his doomsday role would be small.
01:53And why some coverage of that rumor argued he couldn't leave the citadel at all.
01:58But then came September 25th.
02:00And a post-credits scene that changed the math.
02:03Marvel re-released Endgame as Avengers Endgame Encore.
02:07And tucked into the credits was a visit to the TVA.
02:11Mobius, Ouroboros, better known as OB, and Casey are watching their monitors when two universes,
02:18Earth-1005 and Earth-1127, start to collide.
02:23That's an incursion.
02:25One reality slamming into another.
02:28Mobius isn't alarmed at first.
02:30Then, the counter climbs.
02:31By the end of the scene, more than 3,000 universes have collapsed in a matter of seconds.
02:38And OB says it plainly.
02:40The multiverse is collapsing.
02:42The Russo brothers have since described that moment as the most significant thing to happen in the MCU so far.
02:49One breakdown even notes that the tree Loki created on the TVA's displays turns red and begins to die.
02:57Now, hold that thought, because it connects to something else.
03:00Marvel's official synopsis says Doomsday brings together heroes from three distinct universes on a deadly collision course.
03:09And according to alleged insider reports, the first 10 minutes of the film show multiple universes being destroyed until only
03:17three major ones remain.
03:19That 10-minute claim is unconfirmed.
03:21But think about what it would mean.
03:23If the tree is already dying, a king sitting on his throne guarding it has very little left to guard.
03:30Staying put starts to look less like duty and more like wasted time.
03:35And that may be exactly the opening Loki needs to step down and fight.
03:40Which brings us back to that poster.
03:42It's an official international poster first spotted in a Korean release.
03:47And it is loaded.
03:48Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., looms over the battlefield.
03:53Below him, the heroes are braced for impact, and their expressions suggest they know exactly what they're facing.
04:00Behind them, two worlds are slamming together.
04:03A clear nod to the incursions.
04:05And the sign for Xavier's school sits in the wreckage.
04:08It reads like a Sentinels battle poster at the X-Mansion.
04:11Though that's an interpretation.
04:13Posters are collages, and this one may blend moments from different parts of the film.
04:18The trailer already shows Doom commanding an army of Sentinels, so he could easily use them in the final battle,
04:25too.
04:25Look closer, and the roll call gets wild.
04:29Cyclops fires his optic blast through his visor.
04:32And if Marvel finally lets him show his full power, that could be one of the biggest moments of the
04:37fight.
04:38Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic, is bracing for battle.
04:41Steve Rogers holds Mjolnir, which the trailer already showed him summoning into his hand.
04:47Shuri stands as Black Panther.
04:49Yelena Belova leads the front line with her energy batons, with Bucky visible behind her.
04:54Gambit holds his glowing cards and staff.
04:57And right in the center, Professor X sits in his wheelchair, seemingly using his telepathy on an opponent.
05:04That's strange, because his opponents look like Sentinels, and Sentinels are machines built to hunt mutants.
05:10They don't have human minds to read.
05:12So, either Xavier is trying to interfere with their systems, or he's targeting somebody else on that battlefield.
05:19That's one to watch when real footage lands.
05:22If this breakdown is already making you want to re-watch that poster, hit the like button.
05:27It genuinely helps, and there's a lot more to unpack.
05:30Now, the detail that jumped out at a lot of fans is Thor.
05:35His Stormbreaker lightning has always been blue.
05:37On this poster, it's gold.
05:40Earlier promo art had it looking orange.
05:42That has fueled a theory that Thor receives the Odin Force, the raw cosmic energy that powers Odin in the
05:49comics,
05:49and a power that comes with a catch called the Odin Sleep.
05:53Marvel hasn't confirmed any of it, so this is a theory, not a spoiler.
05:57But the pieces line up in a fun way.
06:00In the Doomsday teaser, Thor kneels and prays to Odin for the strength to beat one more enemy,
06:06so he can get home to his daughter, Love.
06:08According to scooper My Time to Shine Hello, Odin answers by sending an army from Valhalla.
06:14Another scooper, Majestic underscore UCM, says that army includes Jane Foster, Heimdall, the Warriors 3,
06:22and the original Loki, the one who died to Thanos in Infinity War.
06:26All of that is unconfirmed, which creates a fascinating wrinkle.
06:31The Loki on the poster, with the horned crown and the green of the God of Stories,
06:36doesn't look like a Loki back from Valhalla.
06:38If the poster is accurate, we might not just be getting a Loki variant,
06:42we might be getting the actual Keeper of the multiverse, in the middle of the fight.
06:48And honestly, there are a lot of Lokis in play.
06:51In July's trailer, a Loki in a TVA jacket is seen inside a house,
06:56holding a TVA card engraved with the World Tree.
06:59Endgame Encore doubled down.
07:01That TVA-clad Loki knocks on Steve and Peggy's door and offers help.
07:06The Russo brothers told Empire we'll get a new incarnation of that character.
07:11One scooper says the Loki in Doomsday is a 2012 variant who escaped S.H.I.E.L.D.
07:16Another says the original Loki returns from Valhalla.
07:20Those can't all be true.
07:22Or maybe they can.
07:23Be honest, which Loki do you want in that final battle?
07:27The God of Stories?
07:28The one from Valhalla?
07:29Or something brand new?
07:31Tell me in the comments.
07:32So let's talk about the fight itself.
07:35Is this a real face-off or just a poster pose?
07:38The honest answer is that nobody outside Marvel knows.
07:41An alleged leak from scooper James Mack says Doom invades the TVA and faces Loki,
07:47in a scene reportedly filmed during reshoots after it was originally meant to happen off-screen.
07:52A popular theory says Doom goes after Loki at the end of time to steal his power,
07:59which would explain why Doom looks unstoppable.
08:02And Tom Hiddleston has more or less pointed out that Loki is holding the timelines together,
08:07so there's no getting around how important he is.
08:10But a poster is marketing, not a script.
08:13Loki might not even be part of the X-Mansion fight.
08:16He could confront Doom separately, maybe tied to the TVA or the collapse itself.
08:21We still need Marvel to explain how he gets there and whether he actually fights Doom at all.
08:26But if he does, think about what it means for the character.
08:30In 2012, Loki invaded New York and wanted to rule Earth.
08:35Now, he's responsible for sustaining the multiverse.
08:38Watching him stand beside Steve, Thor, and the others against Doctor Doom would be a massive moment.
08:45And notably, it would be the Thor and Loki reunion that Marvel has kept out of every trailer so far.
08:51There's one more question hanging over this poster, and it's about the X-Men.
08:56Fans keep asking where Jean Grey and the other original X-Men are.
09:00Famke Jansen isn't on the announced cast, and the mutants we do see are a small group.
09:05Professor X, Magneto, Cyclops, Mystique, Beast, Nightcrawler, and Gambit.
09:12Insider James Mack may have an answer.
09:15According to his posts, the X-Men's universe was hit by incursion after incursion,
09:20and most of the team died dealing with them.
09:22The survivors, he says, are Professor X, Magneto, Cyclops, Mystique, Wolverine, Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler,
09:31Deadpool, and one more unnamed character.
09:34To survive, they were reportedly forced to attack other universes before an incursion could wipe out their own.
09:41The version circulating online says we'll see this in a flashback,
09:45possibly revealing the deaths or sacrifices of original X-Men.
09:49That flashback detail is unconfirmed.
09:52But the trailer opens with Professor X at a window as a planet explodes in the distance,
09:58and a separate leak places an X-Men battle against Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man at the very start of the
10:04film.
10:04If that's true, it changes how we see them.
10:07As the comics established, when two worlds collide,
10:11either both die or one is destroyed so the other can live.
10:15These wouldn't be heroes fighting the Avengers for no reason.
10:18They'd be survivors who lost friends, teammates, and possibly entire worlds,
10:24desperate to protect the last one they have, even if it means destroying another.
10:29And this is where people split.
10:31If your world was about to be erased, and the only way to save it was to destroy someone else's,
10:37would you pull the trigger?
10:39Be honest.
10:39If you think the X-Men story just got a lot more tragic, smash that like button.
10:45One last piece.
10:46Star-Lord.
10:47Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ended with a promise that the legendary Star-Lord will return,
10:53and Chris Pratt has said Marvel will make good on it.
10:56But he isn't on the confirmed Doomsday cast, and one insider tied that to scheduling.
11:02Still, an unverified plot leak lists Star-Lord among the heroes who respond when Doom's forces invade New York,
11:09with another planet closing in on Earth 616,
11:12and a separate leak has Vision and the Maximoff boys defending Avengers Tower against Doombots.
11:18The version going around, Star-Lord in a crazy fight against Doom's Doombots as another planet nears Earth,
11:25is a rumor, and the sourcing is thin.
11:28So, can the God of Stories leave his throne?
11:31Based on what we know, he may not have to.
11:34If the multiverse is already coming apart,
11:36the throne might be the one place he can no longer help from.
11:40Or maybe he walks away on purpose, knowing exactly what it costs.
11:45Marvel hasn't told us yet.
11:47But a poster doesn't lie about one thing.
11:50Marvel wants us staring at Loki, standing in Doom's shadow,
11:54with the whole story of the multiverse resting on whether he steps into the fight.
11:59Do you think Loki actually fights Doom?
12:02And does he walk away from it?
12:03Say it in the comments.
12:05I genuinely want to know.
