CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained for the second time in a week and produced before a magistrate court, with proceedings conducted under heavy security outside the Mandir Marg police station in New Delhi. Dipke was apprehended ahead of a planned Tiranga rally at Connaught Place after police cited concerns over potential disruption of law and order. Delhi Police are seeking judicial custody from the special executive magistrate to prevent further breach of peace in the national capital. Amid the detention of key leadership, CJP named Ajinkya as second-in-command to coordinate ongoing activities. Meanwhile, demonstrations by left-leaning student groups continued near Jantar Mantar and Delhi Police headquarters, though police reported substantially fewer participants on the ground. Authorities maintained that while the right to protest is acknowledged, preventive measures and detentions remain necessary to ensure public safety and prevent incidents of arson.

00:00So viewers, the story that we're following for you in this hour is the fact that Abhijee Dipke,
00:05the CJP founder, who was detained for the second time in, in fact, a week,
00:09has been produced before the magistrate court.
00:13And the proceedings are underway at the Mandir Mahakola station,
00:15massive security outside Mandir Mahakola station.
00:18Dipke arrested, remember, for disturbing peace on Friday,
00:22where he had, in fact, called for a Tiranga rally, Leherado Tiranga rally.
00:27And this was, in fact, at the heart of the national capital, at CP.
00:32That's where it was to be held.
00:33But what we did see is right before, hours before that rally was to be held at 5 p.m.,
00:40the police reached the residence where he has been putting up.
00:44And then post that, they made him sign another peace notice.
00:49And yet, the minute he stepped out of his house later on, he was detained from there.
00:55Anshal Singh, joining us on the broadcast, who's been tracking all these developments for the past couple of hours.
01:01Anshal, what exactly is happening at this hour?
01:05Are you getting any details of the arguments or the proceedings that's underway inside?
01:10Anything that you're learning right now?
01:16Well, the hearing has still not started, is what we are picking up.
01:19Abhijit Dipke came over here approximately an hour ago.
01:21In fact, he was brought over here approximately an hour ago.
01:24But still, the hearing that should have started has still not started.
01:28It's still going to take some time for the hearing to begin.
01:30But yes, the arguments from the side of the Delhi police is pretty clear in this entire matter.
01:34They will try to press this point across that Abhijit Dipke, if at all he is allowed to walk free
01:40again,
01:41then he could yet again try to go ahead and disrupt law and order and peace situation out here in
01:46the New Delhi district
01:47and also in the national capital.
01:48So, that is one of the main arguments.
01:50In fact, the whole fulcrum of the arguments is based on this point that the Delhi police will seek a
01:56judicial custody,
01:57will ask the special executive magistrate to send Abhijit Dipke to judicial custody,
02:01so that for the next few days till the time he is in judicial custody, the situation could improve.
02:09And eventually, if he is allowed to let go, then the law and order situation would not be disturbed.
02:13So, yes, now it only remains to be seen as to for how many days will the Delhi police actually
02:18seek that judicial custody
02:20or will ask the court to send him to judicial custody.
02:22That is something that remains to be seen.
02:24But yes, at this point in time, the hearing has not started.
02:26And we are expecting that within the next five to seven minutes, the hearing could start,
02:30which could take, the hearing could take in itself somewhere around 15 to 20 minutes
02:34before a decision is taken by the special executive magistrate.
02:39Right, Anshul.
02:40So, the question largely remains more than jail or bail.
02:44It seems, as you are saying, that what is likely in this case is jail, as in judicial custody.
02:50The question largely remains for how many days.
02:52Now, there is another question I want to come to here.
02:56If all of the three main leaders of the Kokoro Chanta Party are put behind bars in judicial custody,
03:07then who carries forward the movement?
03:09Because as we speak, we have seen the left parties already protesting today, as of today, at Chantar Mantar.
03:15They are trying to reach Chantar Mantar.
03:17There was another protest that, in fact, unfolded outside the Delhi Police Headquarters.
03:21So, even if the CJP leadership, per se, is behind bars, we still see protests do continue.
03:29So, without, in fact, you know, continuing with the debate on the heavy-handedness of the police
03:35or perhaps the detentions that are being questioned, the barricading that's being questioned,
03:40how will the police control or bring the situation under control of protests that are panning out across the national
03:48capital?
03:53Well, if you look at the number of people who are involved in these protests, that number is not that
03:58high, per se.
03:58But if at all, both these groups, that is the left-leaning student organizations and the CJP,
04:05when both of them come together, then the number of protesters actually increase.
04:11But in this case, the CJP has already made this clear.
04:13They have gone ahead and named Ajankhia as the second-in-command
04:17till the time these people are behind the bars or they are in detention or in custody, for that matter,
04:22till the time Ajankhia will be the person who will be taking a call as to how to take this
04:26entire protest
04:27and this entire movement forward.
04:28On the other hand, the left student organizations have been relentless.
04:32We have known this for a very, very long time.
04:33They are continuously trying to build pressure.
04:36But yes, the number of people who were becoming a part of these protests is certainly going down
04:41and that is somewhere or the other can be seen as a relief for the Delhi police
04:44because the number that the Delhi police was thinking would get on the streets on the 10th of October,
04:51that was substantially less than the prediction that was done from the side of the Delhi police
04:57and subsequently after that, the protests that have been happening even yesterday,
05:01we saw what happened at Connaught Place.
05:02There were absolutely zero detentions that might have happened at CP.
05:05People came over there, unfolded the national flag, gave their bites to YouTubers and then went away from there.
05:11And yes, there were small locations in which a tussle between two groups of YouTubers or for that matter,
05:16between a group of people who had come there to unfold the flag and certain security personals as well.
05:22Apart from those isolated instances that were reported from Connaught Place yesterday,
05:27there were no major instances of any sort of disruption of peace that happened over there as well.
05:33So yes, the Delhi police is also trying to give this message across that they are not against the right
05:39of people to protest,
05:40but they are also bound by the constitution.
05:42It is their responsibility to ensure law and order and that is the reason why Abhijit, Dipke and his supporters
05:50could not be allowed to be on these streets together because the last time that they were out on these
05:54streets,
05:54there was arson that happened on the streets of New Delhi.
05:57And this is one of the primary reasons why the Delhi police is so adamant to not allow Dipke and
06:06his supporters
06:07to get on these streets at the same time.
06:09Right. Anshul, I'll request you to stay back.
