00:00Big breaking news at this hour, Abhijit Dipke.
00:04Abhijit Dipke had called for a Tiranga rally at 5pm.
00:10Minutes before, four minutes exactly before 5pm,
00:15he, we are getting news, has been detained by the Delhi police.
00:20Let's quickly see what were his words right before he was being taken under detention.
00:30It is prevented, you are detained by the police.
00:38Okay, you can go there.
00:42Let me tell you now.
00:45Now let me tell you.
00:48Sir, I won't stop stopping of law breaking, I have been calling you,
00:52we can go.
00:53Let us stop stopping of law breaking?
00:55It is not, I won't.
01:06foreign
01:49I am alone.
01:51I am alone.
01:51I am alone.
01:52I am alone.
02:27I have no break.
02:29How can you do it?
02:30How do you do it?
02:32How do you do it?
02:34How do you do it?
02:34What do you do it?
02:37I am alone.
02:38I am alone.
02:39I am alone.
02:41What do you do?
02:41I am alone.
02:42For what?
02:46I am alone.
02:49I am alone.
02:50Over there are the last words that we've heard from Abhijit Dipke right before he was taken
02:55under detention and the interaction that he had with the cops.
02:59Just to make it clear for our viewers, the Delhi police officer came in there and said,
03:03you are going to be detained.
03:04Abhijit Dipke says, what law have I broken?
03:06I have come here alone.
03:07I have nobody with me.
03:09People that you see around me are people from the press.
03:11They are not with me.
03:13So under what guideline, under what law are you really taking me under detention?
03:17He says, no, that this is an area of central Delhi.
03:20This is where you cannot protest.
03:22He says, no, but tell me.
03:24Tell me the law under which you are detaining me.
03:27Tell me somewhere else if I should go and protest.
03:29The officer doesn't say much.
03:31Then a junior officer walks in and says preventive action is being taken against you, which is
03:36why we are holding you under detention.
03:38So even before the clock could strike five, Abhijit Dipke, who had given a call for people
03:46to assemble at CP for the Tiranga rally, he has been taken under detention.
03:53Preeti Chowdhury keeps, you know, continues to be with us here on the program.
03:57Moshmi also joins us with the very latest on what's happening.
04:01Preeti, I hope you could hear that Abhijit Dipke has been taken under detention.
04:12Preventive custody possibly now, Sonal, because he had been detained.
04:16And if it is the same virtue that he's been now taken into preventive custody like Saurav Das
04:23and Ashutosh Ranka had, then he would be taken into custody.
04:26If it is the same, you know, barometer that is followed and the same protocol that is followed
04:32like with Ashutosh and Saurav Das.
04:36But I just once again, I want to give you a sense of where we are right now.
04:40This is the inner circle.
04:43This time around, very, very different than what we've seen CP on the 10th of October.
04:47All arterial roads are open.
04:49All metro stations are open.
04:51Everyone can come in.
04:53Yet, the kind of police presence is astounding.
04:57The inner circle has completely been fortified.
05:00People are coming in with their Tiranga one by one.
05:03You can see right here, each person coming in, this young lady with her Tiranga in that car.
05:12And especially after we've had a word with people who have gathered, most of them figured
05:19and picked up that Abhijit Dipke was in fact taken into either detention or preventive custody.
05:26And despite that, people are gathering on the other side in terms of numbers, very difficult
05:33to tell because keeping in mind how all roads are porous.
05:36Ma'am, why are you here with your Tiranga?
05:38Because I have right and I can post my Tiranga anywhere, anytime.
05:43And nobody can actually stop me for this.
05:45This is something, a proud thing for ourselves.
05:48And those who are waiting for me, I don't understand this.
05:50I don't understand this.
05:50They're not proud of me.
05:52It's Tiranga, man.
05:53Where do you go and stop?
05:54Then come back.
05:55What do you do?
05:56What is it that you do?
05:58I work with my husband.
05:59And we have a business of plastic PVC rits.
06:03Alright, so you both have come in together.
06:06Yeah.
06:06Just to make us feel proud.
06:08And we are happy.
06:08Just to see, we are feeling very much proud.
06:10And since we don't do it, we will learn how to teach Tiranga.
06:15This is Tiranga.
06:16Our country will stop it.
06:18What's your name, ma'am?
06:19Nitika.
06:20Nitika.
06:21Sir, what's your name?
06:23Puneet.
06:23So both of you are a couple.
06:25You work together.
06:26And as a flash, you've just come here, parked your car here.
06:31And you are unfurling your Tiranga.
06:33Are you going to attempt to go inside?
06:34Yeah.
06:35You are attempting to go inside.
06:37Alright, good luck.
06:38Go ahead.
06:38Alright.
06:39So there you have it.
06:40The couple right there.
06:41They've just come in with their Tiranga and attempting to unfurl it.
06:46On the other hand, you can see presence of paramilitary forces.
06:52And there is a sense of, you know, like, you know, to put it, there's a sense of unease.
06:59Steady stream of people continue to filter out of the metro station, Rajiv Chok.
07:05It's an arterial gate.
07:06A lot of people have come with their children.
07:09Till now, the police is using absolutely no force.
07:14And I will have to say it multiple times.
07:16The situation is of unease.
07:17The situation is also of, you know, unpredictability, one can really call it that.
07:23And what is happening.
07:25All right.
07:26I'm told these are latest visuals that are coming in.
07:30All right.
07:31These are deferred visuals that came in a little earlier when Abhijit Dipke was leaving his house to go into
07:37the protest.
07:38And as he walked out, media is over there trying to get him to say a few words.
07:44Let's see if he actually speaks.
08:07There is no force being here.
08:11The sofa is at the entrance.
08:15Vijay Dipke walking out alone from the house and right there as he walks out after a certain period
08:24of time is when DC Delhi police officials come in and ask him and tell him in fact that he's
08:29been
08:29taken under detention he says that I'm alone I have nobody with me the crowd that you see around
08:36me are all press so what violation have I made to which the cop responds the junior cop steps in
08:42and responds by saying that this is preventive custody that you have been taken into let's cut
08:47across now to our reporters to get a sense of what really is unfolding on the ground we've got
08:52Moshmi Singh joining us live also Aishwarya Paliwal is with us also Piyush Pandey is with us as well
09:01Aishwarya let me come to you right before the clock could strike five that was the call that was given
09:08by the CJP right before the clock could strike five Abhijit Dipke walks out and he's been taken
09:14under detention we are told preventive custody is the word being used by the cop the entire
09:18interaction quite magnificently has been caught on camera between the two as well at the moment
09:24where you are just show me the scenes give us a sense of what cannot place is looking like
09:33well you know let me tell you the main area very close to the central park you know I don't
09:38know if
09:38my camera person will be able to show you where I'm standing 20 meters down the line is the central
09:44park that's the area where the call in fact has been given and the heavy police deployment is telling
09:49you the story of how prepared the administration today is the idea is very very simple you do not need
09:57the administration has been given very clear instructions people cannot gather because once
10:02people gather then the situation turns topsy-turvy so that is something that all of them now need to
10:08take care of if people come in small numbers they click selfies and they leave that's a different
10:13situation but it's highly unlikely that we will see people just coming here clicking selfies and leaving
10:18however that is the call that in fact has been given what is now being looked at very clearly is
10:24to
10:24make sure that this area does not get converted into utter chaos that is something that the
10:29administration has been told you need to be on your toes you need to make sure that the barricades in
10:34fact are in place which is why on the main jumpa throat you are seeing so many barricades being
10:39installed the idea is very very clear in case large number of people somehow make it to jumpa then the
10:47need of the hour is to make sure that the security forces and all of them in fact stop the
10:53people here
10:54and stop them from visiting central park because that's the place where the call has been given for
10:59okay we also have let me just go across to all our reporters we've got mosme singh we've got an
11:04shul singh we've got munish panday we've got ashwarya paliwal and we've got piti chaudhary all of them
11:09uh you know split across different you know angles and getting you a full coverage of what
11:15you know uh cannot place is looking like at this point let me cut across to munish panday now
11:20uh munish people around you are they aware that abhi chit dipke has been taken under detention
11:25their leader is gone are they still trickling in
11:36but sonal as far as kokro janta party is concerned and abhi chit dipke are concerned
11:41most of them follow them on social media and through social media most of them are aware that
11:46he has been taken into preventive custody but as far as the current scene in cp is concerned let me
11:54show you some visuals these are very interesting visuals right outside palika bazar it is bang
11:59opposite to central park and the crowd which you can see sonal here is in support of uh uh you
12:07know
12:07uh it is in opposite to kokro janta party this is a crowd of youngsters who's uh chanting modi modi
12:15and vande matram so this is this can be seen as a counter protest by uh a group of youngsters
12:22who
12:22have gathered here but apart from this group there are many who are slowly and slowly coming to
12:28uh this particular area of uh cannot place uh sonal and they are here to show their solidarity
12:36and support to the kokro janta party's calls of uh lehra dotiranga but uh you know the problem is the
12:43police presence here sonal there is a huge amount of uh police right from delhi police to uh you know
12:51security personals they are present here and they are here to uh you know uh to ensure that none of
12:58the protesters can go to this central park inside central park also there is a two layer of uh paramilitary
13:05forces which have been deployed so it is extremely difficult for anyone to enter inside central uh park
13:12but as far as the outside area of central park is concerned this is the inner circle for the benefit
13:18of
13:18uh our viewers uh this is the inner circle where the crowd is slowly and slowly surging the police is
13:24not stopping anyone from coming to this place in spite of 163 uh bns uh section being invoked here
13:32but most of them are gathering here and again if uh my camera person can get those visuals of the
13:39youngsters who are shouting modi and modi and you can hear in the ambience sonal that they are here
13:46to you know oppose the kokro janta party here sonal that's quite extraordinary munish the visuals that
13:52you're showing us because this is a protest versus protest and all of that is unfolding in cannot place
13:59on one side you have protesters in favor of the kokro janta party on the other where preeti was
14:06standing they were they are coming with their tiranga saying that we want to come here and you
14:10know what is the harm in coming there where you are people are chanting modi modi this is an
14:15unprecedented situation this is a protest versus protest that's unfolding right over there and it
14:21looks like at the moment in middle of it all abhiji deebke the man who called for this protest has
14:26been taken under preventive uh preventive custody by the delhi police this is quite unprecedented
14:31moshmi singh is also with us uh moshmi what are you hearing there was a lot of anticipation earlier
14:37uh that will rahul gandhi join these protests will he not join these protests so far there are
14:43pleasantries exchanged between cjp and rahul gandhi on twitter but we never see them together we see
14:48pavan kera go and meet the cjp but we don't see rahul gandhi we see rahul gandhi apparently asked
14:54them invited them for that tea party that happened they never turned up uh at this moment what is the
15:00situation is does this protest today have the support and backing of the congress party
15:12sonal i see that you just took out the name of all that it took the name of all the
15:17reporters
15:46who are
15:48I don't know how many people have been notified in the public domain and now we have just
15:59heard of social media post that we need to be able to do this in any way.
16:10Sir, this has also seen that in social media, some of the police's perspectives are
16:16the people who are doing the wrong way and the people who are in this kind of protest
16:20will also be able to target them. So what do you think about it and what do you think about
16:23it?
16:24No, it is absolutely wrong.
16:25Some of the police or some of the other people,
16:29the knowledge of the people in this kind of social media,
16:32is to protect their people's people's people's people's people's people's people's people's people's people's people's people's people,
16:44and they are not the wrong way.
16:50Thank you, sir.
16:56Alright, that was the Delhi Police saying why these protests are not to be allowed.
17:01Let me go back to Moshmi Singh. Moshmi, you were making a point.
17:15Moshmi, if you can hear me. Seems a lot of calm behind you, Moshmi.
17:22Which part of CP?
17:24Yeah, yeah.
17:30There's a bit of a delay.
17:31Right, I can hear you, Sonal. Go ahead with your question.
17:33Though I can tell you that I am also standing in the inner circle on another angle.
17:39And this is the entrance to the Central Park.
17:42Now, you can see that there are two, four batons, carrying batons, four personals who are deployed.
17:50There are multiple notices that have been attached, public notices.
17:54There's a banner here.
17:56One, two, three, four, five.
17:58Also, warning that you can't enter inside.
18:02There is a 163 BNS that is in place.
18:07And that is the scene.
18:09There is a lot of calm.
18:10Is it the calm before the storm in terms of people coming out on the streets?
18:16There's a lot of security deployment.
18:19And that perhaps is one of the reasons that it looks really jam-packed and calm.
18:24And there's a mother and daughter duo right here who've come here from Shalimar Bagh.
18:31And they actually tell you the story of the people who have come here.
18:34Garma and Annapurna.
18:36Go ahead, Garma.
18:37We'll give it to the Jainzi first.
18:39Yeah, hi, y'all.
18:39I actually encourage everyone to join this protest.
18:44Reason because I have been seeing how the time has been tough since the beginning of this protest from June.
18:50And like two, three times I have been also detained.
18:54You have also been detained.
18:55Yes, along with my mother we have been detained.
18:57But the encouragement…
18:59And you are an entrepreneur.
19:00Yes, I am an entrepreneur.
19:01Yet, I take off from my work.
19:03Make sure that whatever the work I am doing, I am still working on this thing which is happening for
19:08my sake.
19:09It is my nation, not for the privileges that I am getting from it.
19:12These are the things that I have to do for my upcoming generation also.
19:16Whatever the things that the government is doing at the moment.
19:19Like allotment of too many police, too many traffic controls.
19:23Just to make sure that this protest gets carried off.
19:26But no.
19:27Do you think people will come more?
19:28Yeah.
19:28I mean this is the beauty of the protest that we are doing it as a silent movement.
19:32We know that we won't get a chance to see the Deepke.
19:36We won't get a chance to raise our voice.
19:38But still we are accumulating, making sure that people come.
19:41And just by seeing myself, my friends are also getting encouraged.
19:44They had this idea that why should we join if the police is not letting us to speak our thoughts.
19:50But gradually, if I am saying my friends are encouraging and that's how other people are also getting motivated.
19:56So I would encourage everyone.
19:58No matter, it is not always important that you have to raise your voice to join a protest.
20:03If you have a belief, if you have an idea, please come.
20:06This is a silent, peaceful protest you are saying.
20:10And she was egged by none other than her mother, Sonal.
20:14Annapurna Ji is right here.
20:16And this is very interesting that the mother and the daughter, both different generations, connect with what is happening.
20:23How are you thinking?
20:27How are you thinking?
20:29How are you thinking?
20:51How are you thinking?
20:52How are you thinking?
20:55As the neighbour said,
20:56How are you thinking?
20:57How are you and how are you claiming?
20:59How are you thinking?
21:01How are you standing?
21:02How are you talking about everything?
21:20He was made to sign some papers over there, and this entire sequence, if you see, he's walking out, along
21:26with him, a lot of press.
21:28And right as he walks out of the house is where the cops come in again.
21:31This time he's been picked up and taken in a car.
21:36I'll let these visuals just breathe for you to see that entire sequence of events of how it unfolded.
21:43Abhijir Dipke walks alone with a tiranga in his hand from outside his home,
21:48walks in straight, along with a lot of media and camera presence over there.
21:53Then cops walk up to him and tell him that you have been detained.
21:57And he says, what have I done? I've not broken any law. I am alone.
22:01All I want to do is hold my tiranga.
22:03To which he says, no, this shall not be allowed. You have been taken under. You have been detained.
22:08To which Dipke pushes back, says, okay, if this is not allowed here, give me some other place to go
22:13and protest.
22:13The cops say, no. Then a junior officer walks in and says that you've been taken under preventive custody.
22:19And he is picked up from there. Abhijir Dipke, holding his tiranga, is put inside a Delhi police car.
22:26Watch that entire sequence as this is what happened right minutes before 5 o'clock, really,
22:32when the call for the protest had been given.
22:35Abhijir Dipke and the Delhi police have had a busy morning.
22:38They were inside the house where he is staying.
22:42And there, for several hours, we saw interaction happen between Delhi police and Abhijir Dipke.
22:49He was made to sign some papers there as well.
22:52And Abhijir Dipke kept underlining the fact that he is not protesting.
22:55He is not taking anybody with him.
22:57He is going alone.
22:58All he wants to do is hold his tiranga at Central Park in Kannaut place.
23:04But here you see, as he walks out of the house, the cops walk in.
23:11And that's when he is picked up and put inside the car as well.
23:17Alright, so on the right, where you see him sign the papers, that's the video from a little earlier in
23:25the day.
23:25From a little earlier in the day, he is signing the paper and saying that he shall not be disrupting
23:31any kind of public peace.
23:33He says that, signs that paper, walks out of the house, is talking to the media and there you go,
23:38the cops have come.
23:39The cops have come over there and right as he walks out of that house where he had signed those
23:45papers,
23:46right outside that house, he has been picked up by the police.
23:49He has been taken under preventive custody.
23:51Listen in again to that interaction.
24:02Come on here.
24:05What's the idea?
24:06What?
24:06But it's seemingly cut.
24:08No, it's not right.
24:09No, it's true.
24:09It's not right.
24:12It's not right.
24:12What's the name of the husband?
24:13What's the husband?
24:16Do you see?
24:17What's the husband?
24:18I'll play the rhythm of the husband.
24:19Yeah.
24:20Yeah.
24:23I
24:31I
24:32I
24:33I
24:33I
24:34I
24:35I
24:36You can click on your contact number, sir, if you have given me your focus on social media,
24:40then you can change the sync part of your contact number.
24:43You can click on your contact number.
24:47I can tell you about my contact number from Delhi police.
24:52You can click on your contact number.
24:55This is who passed for peace?
24:57Yes, sir.
24:59Sir, I'm going to call you.
25:01Sir, I'm going to call you.
25:02I'm sorry yeah

26:04So, see what happened now, what happened to you?
26:06Paint it, you know.
26:08Oh, sorry man.
26:12Sorry, man.
26:12Tiringa Leheran had a call.
26:15It was 7-8 police officers.
26:18The police said that you have to do a lot of activity,
26:21and you have to get rid of it.
26:23Tiringa Leheran had a call.
26:27You have to get rid of it.
26:30You have to get rid of it.
26:31This is what the Narendra movie has turned our country into.
26:34In our country, we have to get rid of it.
26:38So, let me put into context both these visuals that you are seeing on your screen right now.
26:43Abhijeeb Dipke, inside what I am told is his friend's house, staying there.
26:48Cops earlier in the day enter the house.
26:50There is a long interaction that goes into several hours.
26:53The police is asking him to sign what looks like a bond,
26:57but hard to say really what it is at the moment.
26:59He signs and says that he will not disrupt peace.
27:03And again, Dipke is saying that Delhi police is asking him not to go.
27:07They are saying that you are provoking people to come out on the streets.
27:11That shall not be allowed.
27:12He signs that letter and the minute he walks out of that same house after signing that letter,
27:18after the cops have gone, he walks out of that house.
27:21There is media frenzy over there.
27:22The cameras are all around.
27:24They are trying to ask him a question.
27:26He walks out with that tiranga in his hand.
27:28And minutes later, he has been picked up right before the clock strikes five.
27:33He has been picked up by Delhi police saying we are taking you under preventive custody.
27:37All right.
27:39Having understood that entire sequence of events, let's get some live reactions from the ground.
27:44Let's cut across to my colleague Preeti Chaudhary joining us.
27:47Preeti, if you could hear that entire interaction, it's quite unprecedented what has happened.
27:52But let me also bring to your notice that right, you know, very close to where you are standing is
27:58Munish Pandey.
27:59And Munish Pandey is reporting to us that there are some pro-BJP protesters over there who are chanting Modi
28:05Modi.
28:06So, while there are protesters on the ground in support of the CJP, there are those in the support of
28:12the BJP as well.
28:19All right, Sona, let me just tell you what's happening on ground right now.
28:22We are right in front of ICWA, the Pankar Bhattacharya of the left, and it seems there is also Neha
28:28Bora here in decoy.
28:31At least that's what we've been told.
28:33They have just emerged from Mandi House, and they're trying to make their way to the inner circle.
28:41These are the visuals that we are beaming to you live right outside ICWA.
28:46This is where the police have stopped the Pankar Bhattacharya as well.
28:50As what we've been told is Neha Bora in decoy, we've been told.
28:54She's wearing a brown shirt and a cap, and the pushback coming in.
28:58Right now, we are going to just...
28:59Pichey ajo, pichey ajo.
29:01Get on your side.
29:02So, just...
29:03Pichey ajo, pichey ajo.
29:04So, they are detaining the left leaders and left students here.
29:08Suddenly, they started unfurling the tricolor.
29:12The Pankar Bhattacharya of what I know of the left is here.
29:16Neha Bora is also here in decoy.
29:18She's trying to make her way out.
29:20I have seen her wearing a cap and a brown shirt.
29:27And detentions have now begun.
29:28This is the first time we've seen force.
29:30This is the first time, if you can see right here, that we have seen force.
29:42Alright.
29:43Pichey ajo, pichey ajo.
29:44Pichey ajo.
29:45Pichey ajo.
29:45Pichey ajo.
29:45Pichey ajo.
29:46Pichey ajo.
29:59Pichey ajo.
30:00As well as the para-military forces.
30:08A ring has been created.
30:10If I can find my camera person.
30:13Pavan.
30:13But if you can hear me, Sonal.
30:15If you can hear me.
30:15Can you just tell me if you can hear me?
30:17Preeti, go ahead.
30:18I can.
30:19Go ahead.
30:20so detentions have now
30:23yeah
30:24so detentions have now started
30:26they are being picked up
30:28one by one
30:29a sudden collection of
30:32left leaders and left students
30:34I did see Dipankar Bhattacharya
30:35with him of what I know is Neha Bora
30:38and they were making their way
30:40from here towards the inner circle
30:42I'm at Mandi house
30:43and this is the Barakamba road
30:46and things have come to a clear head
30:48right now
30:50sudden bolstering of
30:52sudden bolstering of
30:55police personnel
30:56and paramilitary forces
30:58one by one the left leaders have been
31:00picked up I can also tell you
31:02while this flashpoint continues
31:04not very far off from here
31:06on the other side of Mandi house
31:08I can see a build up of left students there
31:10as well so I think
31:13there will be
31:14on the other side of Mandi house
31:16another flashpoint
31:18with
31:19now you can call them
31:21protesters because they are
31:22making their way
31:22and not being allowed to make
31:24their way to
31:24Kanoat place
31:25to unfold the Tiranga
31:26and what
31:27is taking place here
31:29is a huge face off
31:31and a push back
31:32from left students
31:34to the other side of the
31:37people
31:37and that is
31:38the
31:38people
31:38who are
31:39talking about it
31:41and this is
32:00foreign
32:02foreign
32:03foreign
32:09foreign
32:40foreign
32:44foreign
33:12All right, so that was my colleague Munish Pandey
33:15reporting from one side of Kanaat Place inside the central, just outside the central park
33:21really, where there are pro-BJP protests happening against the CJP, all in their saying
33:28Tiranga can be hoisted by anyone but it should not lead to anarchy.
33:32On the other hand, you see protests unfolding and a confrontation building up where right
33:38after, minutes after Abhijit Dipke was taken under detention and preventive custody by
33:44Delhi Police.
33:45It looks like it's the turn of Neha Bora next.
33:48You see the left student body wing, which was earlier going to Kanaat Place, has now decided
33:54to go to Mandi House, not very far from here.
33:56For those of you who are not aware of the geography of Delhi, Mandi House is not very far, but
34:01it's
34:01a little away from Kanaat Place and right, because the entire central Delhi area was completely
34:07fortified.
34:08Student body, the left student body, Aisha Wing decided to move out of it and move to
34:13Mandi House.
34:14But there also, you see a lot of people, and that's Neha Bora right in the middle.
34:18There's a camera obstructing it, but there you go.
34:21You can see her.
34:22There are those from Aisha who are trying to stop her from being taken inside the detention
34:28bus.
34:29But the Delhi Police, women constables are right there.
34:33That's Neha Bora.
34:34In specs, being pulled inside on one side by the Delhi Police, on the other by Aisha supporters.
34:41But it looks like Delhi Police has had its way at the moment.
34:45And Neha Bora also, now safe to say, has been taken under detention.
34:50If today's call was to be taken, or the call had been taken by CJP and Aisha, then both
34:57their leaders as we speak, Abhiji Dipke of the CJP and Neha Bora of Aisha both have been
35:03taken under detention, minutes away from each other.
35:06Abhiji Dipke picked up minutes before the clock struck five, which is when, you know,
35:13the clock struck five, which is when the call had been given.
35:16And now Neha Bora also been detained by the cops.
35:19Now it will be interesting to see what really happens through the protest.
35:22You see, a protest is as strong as its leaders sometimes.
35:26In most cases, with both the leaders now under detention, it will be interesting to see
35:30what happens to the rest of them who are still pouring in.
35:34Do they A, know about the fact that both Neha Bora and Abhiji Dipke have been taken under
35:38detention, and are they still coming in?
35:41At the moment, today's strategy of Delhi Police has been different.
35:44They have not stopped any metros, but they are present in huge numbers and will not allow
35:50any protest either.
35:51Moshmi Singh is with us.
35:52In fact, there's a, alright, there you go.
35:55Neha Bora was about to speak to the cameras, but the window has been shut on her face,
35:59and so she can't speak and we can't get a live reaction from that, you know, from Neha
36:05Bora there as well.
36:06Moshmi Singh continues to be with us.
36:07Preeti Chaudhary also with us.
36:09And our reporters are spread on all across, you know, central Delhi and cannot please to
36:14give you an overview of what's happening.
36:16Moshmi Singh continues to be with us.
36:19Moshmi, give me a sense of what's happening on the ground.
36:22As we speak, Neha Bora, Abhiji Dipke both have been detained.
36:32I understand, I heard you there, and we are not very far away from where Neha Bora has
36:38been detained.
36:39But in the inner circle, now I can tell you, at CP, it's completely flooded.
36:44It's pin drop silence, rare sloganeering, but a lot of people in solidarity.
36:50The entire circle, we've just taken one complete circle, and we can hear the police announcements,
36:58lots of youngsters, lots of parents accompanying youngsters, walking in solidarity.
37:06Now if you look at this, now if you look at this, this is the Barak Kamba where Neha Bora
37:12from Mundi House was coming towards this side.
37:15And this is the inner circle, where you can see Kunj just showed the protesters who are
37:22marching and sloganeering.
37:24So, you can see that here the march has started.
37:28Tiranga being held by few youngsters here and there.
37:33And the sloganeering is going on.
37:35Many of them had come here, hoping that they will meet Dipke, hoping that they will see Neha Bora.
37:41And clearly, you know, this is a point of time where this is the kind of police presence.
37:48If you look at Barak Kamba Road or Mundi House, if you go that side, that is the stretch where,
37:56you know, clearly an entry point towards CP, the closest metro station, Mundi House, Barak
38:03Kamba, and yeah, there are lots of youngsters who are here, some bystanders.
38:09Many of them coming from different parts of the national capital, coming from different stretches of the country,
38:15just to make it count.
38:17More largely, you see a lot of youngster crowd and lots of parents also who are accompanying these people.
38:24Let's cut across to Preeti Chaudhary also.
38:26Preeti, as we speak, Abhiji, Dipke, Neha, Bora both under detention.
38:31What impact has it had on the other protesters?
38:35Do you still see people trickling in?
38:37Or should we assume that with the leaders being taken under detention, the protest will wind up now?
38:58Preeti, we can hear you. Go ahead.
39:10So now, we were right there. I hope you really got the visuals. Neha, Bora was detained right in front
39:14of us.
39:15Right there, I want to quickly cut across because the bus she was in has been taken this way.
39:23Lots of activists as well, moving.
39:28The left students here, what you can see is now this march that the left students have taken out.
39:33It was led earlier by Dipankar Bhattacharya from the left and Neha, Bora who came in decoy.
39:39And I hope you were right there because she literally turned around to speak to our cameras at one point
39:44of time.
39:45And she was detained in decoy in a hat and now taken off in a small minivan.
39:53And the left students, classic form of protest, laid down in front of that minivan, not allowing it to move.
40:07High drama. Some of the left students say that they've gotten hurt.
40:10But massive police deployment here.
40:13I'll just try and get in a word. Anjali Bhardwaj, one of the activists who was also part of the
40:20press conference yesterday as well, is right here.
40:25There are various contingents coming in together now, moving towards the north place.
40:33But these are the visuals coming in from Mandi House, Bara Khamba Road, exactly the place where Neha Bora was
40:42detained, picked up in a small minivan and taken away.
40:47Will it be, what's interesting to note now, will it be preventive custody or will it be detention?
40:53Till now, at least, what we've seen with left leaders and left students is detention, not arrest.
40:59They have not been made to sign any bonds at all.
41:03Will they be made to sign a bond, especially Neha Bora today?
41:07Because there is already multiple advisories. That remains to be seen.
41:11But yes, Neha Bora has now been detained, taken away, while three contingents coming in from the left leaders and
41:20other associations,
41:21one from Bara Khamba Road, one from KG Maag, moving towards central Delhi, which cannot place inner circle.
41:30Massive fortification. The paramilitary forces here, after that face-off that we saw with Dipankar Bhattacharya and Neha Bora, are
41:40now not applying force.
41:42There was a face-off there. They were detained, the leaders. They are now allowing the rest of the left
41:49students and other students to move towards central Delhi.
41:53So there is a change in tactics of sort, especially by the paramilitary forces.
42:02But let's try and get in some reaction from Anjali Bhardwaj.
42:09Marching towards... Hi, ma'am. Can we get two minutes with you?
42:14Dipankar Bhattacharya, Neha Bora, detail. You're marching towards inner circle.
42:18You're anyway going to be facing off with paramilitary forces.
42:21Look, the job of the Delhi police in our democracy is not to prevent protests.
42:26Protests, the right to protest, is a fundamental right of the citizens of India.
42:32Their job is to facilitate peaceful protests.
42:35We had all said that we will get together in the central park of Kanaat place peacefully.
42:42Do you see weapons in anybody's hands? Do you see lathees in anybody's hands?
42:45People are peacefully protesting.
42:47They're saying that the unconstitutional and illegal acts of the chief election commissioner,
42:52he must be punished for it. He must resign.
42:55And the SIR, which has disenfranchised 13 crore people in this country, must be scrapped.
43:01What is wrong with it? We are peacefully protesting with Pirangas.
43:05That is also not being allowed.
43:06They shut down the central park of the CP.
43:09Where are people supposed to go?
43:11This government is so scared now.
43:13They are not allowing anybody to exercise their very basic right to protest.
43:18Ma'am, there's one question that is constantly being raised now by the government.
43:21You just had Rajanath Singh also address a press conference.
43:23That this is not about an agitation against the election commission of India.
43:29This is an attempt by certain forces of a regime change.
43:35Something that was said in a press conference by Mr. Prashant Bhushan and you were a part of it.
43:40Look, let us be very clear. Elections are held in the country to allow for peaceful regime change.
43:47How can anybody say that regime change is bad?
43:51We've had regime changes so many times in this country. Elections happen for that purpose.
43:56We are simply saying that right now the referee who is supposed to ensure that free and fair elections happen
44:03is not doing his job or the job of the election commission is not to take sides, not to be
44:09biased.
44:10It's very clear that the referee is biased.
44:13People have lost faith in the chief election commissioner who is the referee.
44:18They have lost faith in the election commission's functioning.
44:21The chief election commissioner must go.
44:23Otherwise, there is absolutely no chance that there will be free and fair elections in this country.
44:28And we don't want that any party that comes to power just sticks to power by manipulating voter rolls and
44:36by compromising the autonomy of the election commission.
44:40Thank you. Thank you for joining us.
44:41So, what you really see right now…
44:43They are speaking with my colleague Preeti Chaudhary and explaining to us what really is happening.
44:47At the moment, what you see is that the protest call which had been given by the CJP and the
44:53student body wing of the CPI, AISA over there.
44:57Both their leaders, Abhijit Deepke and Neha Bora, both have been taken under detention.
45:03And as this happens, while we look at those protests over there, at Cannot Place, you have another pro-BJP
45:11protest also unfolding.
45:13At one leg, you see anti-BJP slogans. On the other gate, you see pro-BJP slogans.
45:19So, both of that unfolding right at the center and the heart of the national capital.
45:23In fact, while we look at them, let's also bring out to you some of the comments that we've got
45:28from the BJP with the entire top brass now out there to talk about what really is happening.
45:34This is Rajnath Singh.
45:37Yes
45:38The regime change hisisms.
45:40Their struggles are not,
45:42their struggles are not,
45:53their struggles are not.
45:59Their struggles to be forgotten.
46:43All right, with that, we're going to slip into a very quick flick.
46:46Stay tuned to India Today. Lots more coming up.
