00:20offense they are getting elite quarterback play right now they're passing game uh their run game
00:27they're they're just they look really really good offensively and that's been true in their losses
00:32um and you know varying degrees but uh this team leads the nfl point scored they look great
00:38uh i believe they scored the most points through five games in any team in lions history
00:44defensively the pass rush is has been great uh probably has exceeded our expectations they're
00:50getting contributions from dj wannam or lee mcneil skylar gill howard was a fine it's been really
00:56good linebacker play it's probably been a little bit disappointing over the course of the five
01:00games better game last time out uh and the secondary which people thought would be a problem oh look it
01:06is so i want to talk about the likelihood of how the secondary gets fixed now one thing that that

01:15do on this show and you know to each their own but one of the things we how can it
01:21work out we do this
01:22all the time can this work out okay so let's talk about the ways that it can work out for

01:31lions secondary that aren't fantasy but things that are worthy of discussion all right and the biggest
01:39one and and in the you know whether or not this would actually happen is the bait the debate is

01:45homes makes a trade for a cornerback there is i think he's going to make a trade for a cornerback
01:53the question is how big of a trade is it going to be are we getting the zadarius smith of

02:01or are we getting the joey porter jr of quarter quarterbacks who by the way might be hurt again but
02:08it will see limited in practice are we getting a big move a splash move an aggressive move are we
02:18getting a good football smart move are we getting a minor move and certainly one way that it can work
02:26out in the secondary is the addition of a player from the outside and if i had to bet right

02:31i would bet that he will make a trade for a cornerback it's just i i i think there's guys
02:40available there was a guy available i mean we don't uh what's the phrase don't chew on yesterday's
02:49breakfast yeah but zion mccollum from tampa if there truly is accessibility to him would be a pretty damn
02:59good move then there's various moves that would help below that of names that have been floated out
03:05there including greg newsom with the giants uh was it fulton christian fulton with the with kansas city
03:11which i don't know why he'd be available i can't figure that one out no pittsburgh loses the next
03:15couple weeks jalen ramsey might be available so anyway um what is the likelihood that brad homes
03:21addresses this position high you still think you think he'll make a trade i think he's going to make

04:24to understand but we have a pretty strong sense of brian branch is going to return to this team
04:30after the bye week so that's that's a big lift for the secondary and it's a safety position
04:36beyond that this past game in the last couple of games i've been intrigued by the growth of
04:44a venice rake strong well i want to get to that coming up because that's another one way to pat

04:50but we're just talking about a trade here is the trade just they got to make something happen soon
04:53and i want to see it sooner than later and you think a trade could be a trade a trade

06:25but big there have been big trades in the past that haven't paid dividends and not getting involved in
06:32those trades might have been smart in this particular instance i think it is smart i think i still think
06:38he's a smart general manager i don't think he's perfect making a trade makes a ton of sense but
06:44then again so did joey porter jr for the price tag in my view and so i still think he'll
06:50do that
06:52my guess is it will be it will not be zyan mccullum but i think a lot of that has
06:59to do with how truly
