Willard and Dibs join Guru and Bonta (in for Steiny) on a Monday edition of the Crossover. The guys react to the 49ers' epic win over the Seahawks in Seattle to improve to 5-0.
Transcript
00:07Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:14I do love warm moon, Divers.
00:16I love me some warm moon.
00:17He's my guy.
00:18We all do, yeah.
00:19It's time for the crossover brought to you by Bay Alarm.
00:22Rest easy.
00:22We've got you covered.
00:24Bayalarm.com.
00:25Mark Willard, Dan Dibley.
00:27They'll take you from two to six.
00:29We've got Valkyries in the finals.
00:30Let's go.
00:31All right.
00:32Saturday at 12.30.
00:33Yeah.
00:34Not five.
00:35Yes.
00:36Not prime time.
00:37What's wrong with that, Guru?
00:38Where's prime time?
00:39And when they go to Atlanta, they get to play at the Civic Auditorium.
00:43It's going to be awesome.
00:44He just taught me that.
00:45Hold on.
00:46Yeah, good morning, everybody.
00:47How good is that?
00:48I love that crack.
00:495-0, suckers.
00:50It is pretty good.
00:51That's a good thing.
00:52Call your boy Softie Mahler.
00:53See what he's doing today.
00:54Yeah, he's probably going to put us on red.
00:57And, you know, I had a bunch of people on my Twitter after I said what I said about last
01:02year where, you know, week 18, it was not that they got dominated.
01:05It was a little of this, a little of that.
01:07No excuses.
01:08And Seattle fan was like, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow.
01:11So, I've gone through today, one by one, scoreboard, scoreboard, Jim, scoreboard, Demetrius, scoreboard,
01:20whoever.
01:20What a game, man.
01:21A lot of scoreboard.
01:21You know what I like to do on Twitter?
01:23When somebody is so angry and they're like, you're so wrong about something, I go back
01:28to that tweet and just like it.
01:30That's my mechanism.
01:32I just like it.
01:33I want you to die.
01:34I just hit the hard thing.
01:35I just quote it and I go, checking back in.
01:38You know how you do in the business world?
01:40Thought I'd circle back.
01:42That's pretty good.
01:43All right.
01:44So, you got the Valkyries, obviously, yesterday's game.
01:46What a win for the 49ers.
01:47They get to 5-0, now 3-0 in the NFC West.
01:50They sweep the first round against the NFC West.
01:53Rams, Seahawks have to come to Levi's Stadium later in the year.
01:56You go to Arizona, who's playing for nothing, which is like another home game for the
02:0049ers?
02:00Can I add one other thing that has nothing to do with the Niners?
02:03No, go ahead.
02:04Seahawks are on a plane in 48 hours from Mile High.
02:07And it may be without JSN.
02:09When Coach said, I don't want to get cryptic, I'm trying to be Perry Mason, like, oh boy,
02:13what if he doesn't play?
02:14But go ahead.
02:14We were talking about this last week, about the opportunity that sat there for the Niners,
02:18because if they could win this game, it puts the division mates in such a crappy
02:24early season.
02:25The Rams have to play Josh Allen tonight.
02:28You need to win the game.
02:29The Seahawks are, off of the physicality of that game, go to altitude in 48 hours to
02:35play again against one of the other best defenses in the NFL.
02:40While the Niners get an extra day through this thing, there's a long way to go, obviously,
02:45but this could spin in their favor real fast.
02:49No doubt.
02:50And I just look at yesterday and forget, like, what's going to come down the road, because
02:55it's going to be better for the Niners than it should be for their opponents.
02:58But yesterday, and I'm looking at the notes, they throw a pick to Cowing, intercepted,
03:03three plays later, Seattle scores.
03:05They're up two, crowd in it, and then a bad return from Debo, 15 yards.
03:10And then two plays later, he fumbles.
03:12Hammy, fumble, Seattle, short field, crowd going bananas.
03:16That thing could have, and probably should have, if you're a Seattle fan, like, okay,
03:21we score again.
03:22Now we're up by nine, and now you go to sleep because the crowd's in it.
03:25But the defense, my friends.
03:27They were awesome.
03:28I thought the game was over at the Debo.
03:30They were awesome.
03:31They were just, I've never felt better about somebody who just gave up 29 in my life.
03:36Oh my God, like this, they were, and I love that Kyle said it the way he did after the
03:41game.
03:41They were unbelievable, and so many times sent out while they were still panting, because
03:47of what you just described, with all the sudden changes, and no Bosa, pass rush was still in
03:53his face.
03:54From the outstar, from the at the gate.
03:56Right, Renardo Green, what he was doing out there.
03:59The fact that they made Sam uncomfortable the entire time.
04:03Mustafa turning into Ronnie Lott.
04:04Raheem Morris had the defensive backfield in camp.
04:07They were excited.
04:08They were right.
04:09They were right.
04:10They look great.
04:11Jair Brown, Malik Mustafa, Siegel get healthy soon.
04:14They all look like different players.
04:16They were awesome yesterday.
04:18I just don't want to see Jack Jones on Cheyerson at the end of the game.
04:20I can't believe that.
04:22Cheyerson is special.
04:24He's awesome.
04:24With Jack Jones on the island, I was like, oh, what are we doing here?
04:28You caught it already.
04:29I'm like, oh, where will he be at?
04:30Oh, you dropped it.
04:324-10.
04:33But no, overall, you're so right about this defense.
04:36I mean, and they're going to get better and better as the season goes along.
04:38Grayson Halton.
04:39Where's he going to be at?
04:40Grayson Halton.
04:42Dude, they were looking for a replacement for DJ Jones for so long.
04:45I think they finally found him.
04:47Fourth round pick out of Oklahoma.
04:48Jaden Duggar.
04:50Doesn't say much.
04:51Nine tackles.
04:52Sack on a second play for Seattle offensively.
04:54He's coming along.
04:56Wearing number 53.
04:57Henry, Renato Green, as you guys mentioned.
04:59I mean, his defense is going to get so much better as we get later into the season.
05:03So what a step in the right direction for them to make Seattle so uncomfortable.
05:07Yeah.
05:07No, go ahead.
05:08I'm just going to say, like, Malik Mustafa, we talked about, you know, what he did.
05:13And he had the hit on JSN, which looked like it might have been blue tent worthy.
05:17But JSN has to go out for one play.
05:20And then he came back in.
05:21And that was the next play where he dropped it.
05:23So maybe he was a little bit of, you know, woozy woos because Mustafa put the absolute helmet on him.
05:29Yeah.
05:30And he's getting a reputation.
05:32And I feel like just in the living room, other opponents, they receivers know where is he at now.
05:37And you just talk about the maturation or puberty that all these guys are going through.
05:41And it's early, and I've been fighting for my life because I said I kind of agreed with the green
05:47law suspension in a sport that's trying to cut down head injuries.
05:51They're coming for me.
05:52And what I'm about to deliver to you, because I believe it's five weeks in, and some of the Vegas
05:57sites back me up.
05:59Just what I'm seeing from the Niners right now, five weeks in, they'll be playing in L.A., Operation L
06:04.A., as he dubbed it.
06:05That's my prerogative.
06:06I shared it.
06:07But that 12-play drive, 74 yards, I think six, seven minutes, was everything.
06:13And it summed up Brock Purdy.
06:15Did he have the best day?
06:16Who does against that Seattle defense?
06:18But when it mattered most, him and Mike Evans just made beautiful love in the air.
06:25Like, this is a thing now, guys.
06:27And I think Brock is like, oh, I've never played with this before.
06:30When in doubt, go to Mike Evans.
06:32And right now, he looks like the gold jacket dude he'll be wearing years from now.
06:37But this is fascinating to just step back and think where this thing can go.
06:40I think, you know, the two things you're saying, I'm not going to do Super Bowl yet,
06:44because there's still like a journey of health and all of the things that need to stay where they are.
06:49I'll say it differently.
06:49They're the best team in the NFL right now.
06:52They're the best team.
06:53And I said that yesterday.
06:55If you've got your power rankings this week and they don't have the Niners at number one,
06:58then they're illegitimate.
06:59You've beat Denver, the Rams, and Seattle in their yard.
07:01Period.
07:02Period.
07:03This is the best team in the league right now.
07:05You don't need flowers for that yet.
07:06But that's where we're at.
07:08And then the fourth quarter drive, I wonder if people realize this.
07:12Both these defenses were so good.
07:15Nobody was able to go on a lengthy touchdown drive the whole game.
07:21So the whole idea of like, well, Seattle gave them this turnover,
07:24but the Niners gave them that turnover.
07:26Nobody could do anything with a long field until the fourth quarter.
07:30There it is.
07:31And Brock Purdy and Mike Evans did it.
07:33And they did it.
07:33Forget the 12th man.
07:35Don't forget the 13th man, which is that's not intentional grounding.
07:40Moron refs.
07:41Offensive passing interference.
07:42And the 49ers immediately, it's my favorite play of the year.
07:47You get that horrible call.
07:49Dean Blandino says horrible call.
07:52Second and 21.
07:53Pow.
07:5427 yards.
07:55First and goal.
07:55It's my favorite play of the year.
07:57Don't, uh-oh, because I'm not just 100% like, oh, the refs, the refs.
08:02They're always right.
08:03But if you look at that.
08:04I hate referee dibs.
08:06This is not referee dibs, Randy.
08:09And when you look at it, that's one of those ones where if you had like the correctable NFL eye
08:15in the sky people in New York,
08:17like you should be able to go in the ref's ear and say, hey, he kind of was in the
08:21area.
08:22And it was there.
08:23It was an ugly chess pass.
08:25Yeah.
08:25It looked like, you know, Draymond Green, one of his five turnovers, shots fired.
08:29Apologies.
08:29But it was a chess pass, and he was close enough to where, yeah, that's not intentional grounding.
08:35But it was.
08:36And to Mark's point, okay, next play, second and 21.
08:39Pow.
08:4028 yards.
08:41Whatever.
08:42This is what you all want to be in life, right?
08:44Like you just get a bad hand, and you just come out and go, fine.
08:48Watch this.
08:49Well, two sons for me.
08:50I got a bad hand.
08:51Yeah.
08:51Oh, sorry, man.
08:52But you can get 27 yards on the next play, Goo.
08:55Can we take a survey?
08:56Because Frank in Atlanta called in, and just, he set it up to where I think I know now the
09:01rule on the last play of the game with Cooper Cup.
09:04I thought it was the first because he was in the air, and you're not out of bounds, in
09:09my mind, until you hit the ground.
09:11So I go, you got to be kidding me.
09:12Am I the only one that thought it was going to get overturned?
09:15No, you're not the only one.
09:17But, like, hearing the explanation, and I think it was, was it Dean Blandino again?
09:20And he talked about, shut up.
09:22Whatever.
09:23The sideline is like an infinite plate of glass that goes all the way up into the heavens.
09:28And so once you break that plane with the football, you're out of bounds.
09:32The end zone is different.
09:34So when you go to the end zone, you've got the pylon.
09:36If you're inside the pylon, you're good to go.
09:39Two plays I thought in the game that were not sort of overturnable.
09:43In other words, did they get him exactly right?
09:46Can't be 100% sure, but you cannot overturn them.
09:49That was one, and I still, I feel that way about the Debo fumble.
09:53I think if you called that down in real time, that's not a fumble.
09:57He cups the ball with his hand, but he still has control of it.
10:00He's been contacted, and the ground can't cause a fumble once you've been contacted,
10:04which is when it came loose.
10:06It was a weird play because he was going down injured.
10:09Could have been a game in there today.
10:11I thought this game was over right at the end of there.
10:12I'm with you, man.
10:13I was like, oh, this is not their day.
10:15It's going to be 4-1.
10:15I thought both of those were whatever they called on the field.
10:18They're going to stick with them because they were both just kind of weird plays.
10:22One thing, the 12-place, 74-yard drive, I just referenced, took seven minutes off the clock.
10:27The second to 21, the final drive in which they ran the ball really well against that Seattle front
10:33to set up Eddie Pinero, who I'm a little worried about moving forward.
10:36I won't bring him up too much.
10:38They made that 44-yard.
10:41He would have been the story today.
10:42It would have been a problem, but something Guru just said, and we've kind of discussed it,
10:48and it comes from the summit.
10:49You and Shasky were arguing about it, and Shasky said, hey, I just want to enjoy the journey.
10:53He's a guru, actually, and Shasky.
10:54He's saying, I just want to enjoy the journey.
10:56Let's not talk about Super Bowl, but I think it's okay to have Super Bowl aspirations,
11:01especially after a win like that, especially after being 5-0.
11:04With all the injuries that you have on this football team,
11:07we know the standard with Shanahan and company.
11:09They're not just, hey, let's win a division, and let's just roll the dice in the playoffs.
11:12We'll see what happens.
11:12It's okay to dream big with this football team right now.
11:16Sure, health is a problem.
11:18Deebo's out for several weeks.
11:19Greenlaw's suspended for a game.
11:21But sure, getting reinforcements back like he did yesterday with Mike Hill-Williams.
11:25If this team is ready to roll in December and they're healthy,
11:28why not have Super Bowl aspirations?
11:30You could have them, and I think that, for me,
11:32the aspirations lie with Kyle Shanahan, who hopefully is going to use his best judgment
11:39behind the wheel and maybe use, like, a driver and stuff.
11:42And beyond that, it's Brock Purdy.
11:44Because you mentioned Brock Purdy earlier, and it was not his best game ever,
11:47but the 74-yard drum-off, the throws to Mike Evans, the throws he made in that spot.
11:54And even the one that cooks, yes.
11:56The first third down, he threw a dime to Kittle.
11:58He just dropped it on third and two.
12:00Right, so, I mean, Brock Purdy's numbers and, you know,
12:03the pick was kind of awful, but it was great coverage,
12:06and they mixed it up where the underneath guy goes back,
12:10and the other guy comes up, and, yeah, the defense held.
12:12And so I think if you have Shanahan and Purdy,
12:15and, I mean, maybe Evans would be the next one I would list,
12:18and obviously Trent, but if the key guys are healthy, this team could beat anyone.
12:22I think that's the way to say it is it's fine.
12:25It's like don't get ahead of yourself and start thinking Super Bowl,
12:29but what the Niners have already informed the league at 5-0 with especially the specific three wins
12:36we're talking about is that there's no challenge that they, like, that they can't handle.
12:41They can do this.
12:43They, like, it is absolutely on the table.
12:45If you get some sort of health, this is twisting their way early in terms of home field
12:51and the one and all of those things that you hope for,
12:53but, yeah, there's no question that they have the ability to go all the way.
12:58And why I'm so moved on that front, when you look around at what's going on in other locales,
13:05the ending of the giant rescue game, Dallas, their coaches, what they're not doing.
13:11I know a lot of 49er fans think last year was its own entity,
13:15and I understand you could say it was, but why I'm giving so much just love out now is
13:23I'm going to last year.
13:25This team won 12 games when a lot of outfits would have folded
13:29and maybe not won six or seven.
13:31And now that I'm putting that into this year, like, they just showed us
13:36and this coaching staff what they can do when things go against them
13:39and you lose any and everybody in your quarterback
13:42and you go win a road playoff game, and I'm telling Bonte all day, trying my best,
13:47are we so surprised they're 5-0 now with guys, you know, taking that next step
13:53and adding Mike Evans and Brock Purdy maturing?
13:55No.
13:56It's like, knock, knock, who's there?
13:5712 wins last year when a lot of teams wouldn't have done that.
14:02That's just where I'm at, man.
14:03I'm with you.
14:04The doom and gloom before the season.
14:06I was part of it.
14:07It was kind of like, you know, where it didn't make me miss radio
14:09because you had to deal with that four hours a day.
14:11It was like, oh, the injuries.
14:13It's going to derail the season and blah, blah, blah.
14:15And I'm watching down at camp saying, man, Purdy looks really good.
14:18Okay, Renardo Green.
14:19I was on with the Morning Rose guys midway through training.
14:22I was saying, Renardo Green's going to be all right.
14:23I'm liking what I'm seeing from him down at camp.
14:25And now it's just practice and, you know, the way I overhyped Trey Lance
14:29is something that's memorable, right?
14:31It happens.
14:32It happens to the best of us.
14:33But Renardo Green looked good.
14:34And I was thinking, why is, like, Kittle announces,
14:37I'm going to Australia and I'm ready to play.
14:39And some people were like doom and gloom about it.
14:41And I was like, why?
14:43Kittle says he's coming back for Australia.
14:45Bosa's getting on the flight.
14:46They're ready to roll, a team that won 12 games.
14:49And now here we are five weeks into it.
14:51And it's like, yeah, this is good.
14:53This team is good if they're healthy.
14:55But it's good to see everybody, like, finally on board saying,
14:58oh, wait, we got something special here.
15:00When just five weeks ago before the Rams game, people were like,
15:03I don't know if I should get excited because it's in Australia
15:06and we got so many injuries.
15:07We talked more about the damn substation in August
15:10than the actual football team.
15:11Yeah.
15:12Yeah.
15:12And I'm a little surprised that they're 5-0 because if you look at those
15:15three games, like the Rams in Australia, who knows?
15:19Denver going to be tough.
15:20And then Seattle on the road.
15:22I thought that they probably would have lost one of the three.
15:25You could have lost yesterday, Dibs.
15:27You could have easily lost yesterday.
15:28They could have.
15:28And the fact that they didn't is what tells me a lot about this team
15:32and who they are.
15:32Because, as I mentioned before, you had the pick, they score two plays
15:36and a fumble, and then they score, again, a field goal.
15:39You're down five.
15:40And the crowd was bananas.
15:41And we talked about the 12s.
15:43And quietly, though, a lot of red in that crowd.
15:46It was more than I thought it would be.
15:47Did you guys hear him?
15:48I asked Bonte.
15:49He has some sound.
15:50I didn't hear him in the lab, I don't think.
15:52But these are sound bites.
15:54Listen to Mike Evans real quick.
15:55Mike Evans after the game.
15:56When they said Cooper Cup was short on the first down,
15:59it kind of felt like we were at home for a second.
16:00Like, it got so loud, that was one of the louder parts of the game.
16:03So, shout out to the faithful.
16:05And then we got the Cooper Cup sound when he was short
16:07and he heard a pop from the red and cold, man.
16:09But there was some red in there.
16:10There was some red.
16:11There was some red as you're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ, FM,
16:14and AC1 San Francisco and Odyssey Sports Station
16:16and the home of the Go-To-State Warriors and Valkyries
16:18who are playing for a championship in the W.
16:21Always live on the free Odyssey app.
16:22Coming to you live from the Laffy Monk Studios.
16:24So, there's so much to like about this team.
16:26Shannon Hank, his coaching.
16:28I thought he coached a solid game.
16:29Considering that defense is so loud.
16:30So, good.
16:31Raheem Morris and his creativity.
16:33Well, what's the other part?
16:34How about this punter?
16:35We're not even talking about the punter.
16:36He was great.
16:36You love the punter.
16:37Corlett Swainman.
16:38Come on, Corlett Swainman was great in the first half.
16:41And he's the little Reggie Roby's nephew.
16:43Oh, he is?
16:44No, no, no, no.
16:45I heard you earlier talking about, you know, black punters.
16:47I'm trying to like wrap my brain to think of other ones.
16:50Marquette King?
16:51Yeah.
16:51The King.
16:52This year.
16:53Marquette King.
16:53We had a lot of him on.
16:55The punters have a problem because nobody wants to see them.
16:59That's why nobody's like, hey, dude, good job, brother, because you're pissed when they
17:02come on the field.
17:03He doesn't make that punt before halftime.
17:05No, he's been awesome.
17:06Kneeling inside the five-yard line, boom, sets up a touchdown.
17:09The first punt at the 11-yard line.
17:11Darnold first play.
17:13Second play shoots.
17:14Excuse me.
17:14Doesn't get the ball out on the three-step drop.
17:16Duggar comes in and sacks him.
17:18Next play, boom.
17:19Interception.
17:19Sets up a quick 18-yard drive.
17:21So, I got to give love to the punter, Dibs.
17:22No doubt, and you should, and I mean, the special teams yesterday were kind of a mixed
17:26bag because you had, you know, a couple of big returns.
17:29You gave up, and Eddie Pinheiro, I don't really worry yet for his future, but when he
17:35missed that first field goal, they cut to Kyle, and I think it was Tom Brady like, uh-oh,
17:39watch out, Tablet.
17:41Watch out, Tablet.
17:42Because Shanahan was absolutely livid, and then he makes the big one late in the game, the
17:47game winner.
17:48So, I don't know about Eddie, last year he was so perfect, maybe we have too much expectation
17:53around him, but.
17:54He made the game winner, Dibs, like, damn.
17:56Right, but he's missed a couple PATs.
17:59Real concerned, not just that he missed it, he missed it like, it was, but, he almost hit
18:04Jennifer Leach in again.
18:07Like, dog, that was not, he was barely in the direct, it looked like one of my golf shots.
18:12What are you doing over there?
18:13I told Ed, I was like, he's missing his kick.
18:15Just want to let you know, I tried to do a little reverse jinxer, but I was like, he's
18:18missing his kick.
18:19And she goes, wow, that wasn't even close.
18:21Oh, man.
18:22It was bad.
18:23Anybody else take a restroom break for the last one?
18:26I was like, I can't even watch this thing.
18:28Thank goodness they went to the two-minute warning and gave me a minute to breathe, because
18:32I was like, if he misses this, we are like, he's the whole story tomorrow.
18:36Did we bring up Drake along with these guys yet?
18:38Not yet.
18:38No.
18:39I just told him, I thought he, I understood where the league was coming from.
18:42I've done a.
18:43I'm catching hell.
18:44I don't want to call it a 180.
18:47A 360?
18:48Well, no.
18:49Me and the lovely Christy had a conversation last night about this.
18:52And I'm like, you're not getting suspended.
18:54Okay.
18:54I'm like, you're not getting suspended, because he already got kicked out.
18:57So that's his.
18:58I go, he's going to get a very hefty fine.
19:01And she's like, he's getting suspended.
19:02Oh, so she.
19:03I did.
19:04And then I started thinking about it.
19:06I'm reading about it.
19:07I'm listening to the roast.
19:08Shasky gets up this morning.
19:09He's like, he's for sure getting suspended.
19:11And I started thinking.
19:12Oh, so it wasn't just me.
19:13Started thinking more about his history.
19:16And we know that leagues bring that into the conversation.
19:20Somebody who's had.
19:21He's got a file.
19:21Right.
19:22So I get it.
19:25I don't like it.
19:26Yeah.
19:26I don't like it.
19:27Like, that's because, listen, if he's cocking his head back and it looks like intent to
19:33injure, I get that.
19:35But to me, you already missed half, maybe even a little bit more of the biggest game of the
19:41year.
19:42I would have just brought a real hefty fine.
19:44But I'm not surprised.
19:45By the time I got to this afternoon, I'm not surprised.
19:48Nothing to see here.
19:49If he had his helmet on, nothing, I don't believe what he brought up.
19:52You don't get to choose who gets in your face and starts yapping at you.
19:55Yeah.
19:55But some, oh, Bonte said it.
19:57You know, I don't know what he said.
19:58Sticks and stones can break my bones.
20:00The names can never hurt me.
20:02You can't do that in the league.
20:03He's just trying to reduce head injuries.
20:05Not that one was getting a result, but the optics of it.
20:08He hit him.
20:09I think that he probably wished he would have brought a little bit more into it if he knew
20:13he was going to get suspended.
20:14His money's worth right.
20:15And I'm looking at the rule right here, and it says, you know, if you violate the rule,
20:19any act which is contrary to the generally understood principle of sportsmanship, which I guess
20:24they look at that and say, you have a helmet, he doesn't, and that's not very sportsman-like.
20:29But honestly, like football is not about sportsmanly behavior all the time.
20:34But yes, the guy came over and he got in his face and he got cracked.
20:38And then, oh, look, look, look, did you see what happened?
20:42That is, I mean, that's the kind of behavior that might get you into trouble down the road
20:46in certain neighborhoods.
20:48Like where I grew up, you do that, you're probably getting beat up the next day playing
20:53four square.
20:53I mean, I don't agree with the suspension.
20:56I thought he served his punishment yesterday by getting ejected.
20:59They kind of instigated some things, but yeah, he got baited.
21:02He got baited, and he's got to be better.
21:04Didn't kill him because Jayden Ducker stepped up.
21:06But if we're going to suspend Drake Greenlaw, totally fair, and this is Monday Night Football.
21:12What about your boy Arroyo after the interception on Renardo Green?
21:16He should have cocked back and swung his right hand at us.
21:18He would say I was going for the ball.
21:20And he missed.
21:22I mean, he missed.
21:24He missed.
21:25He was going to miss with that.
21:29There was some intense.
21:30The boss put up a video.
21:30I'm like, he was going for the ball.
21:32But you know what?
21:33It's within the lines while the clock is running versus the opposite.
21:37All of them.
21:37And, you know, Dre's also good.
21:39Don't forget, like, why is Dre over there?
21:41He also hit the quarterback out of bounds.
21:43You knew he was going to do something like that.
21:44Of course.
21:45Of course.
21:45We talked about it last week.
21:46I was like, he's going to be good for one of these penalties.
21:48100% like this.
21:49But not an ejection.
21:50Yeah.
21:51Remember, we used to have Romo on the station, like, way back in, I think, in your first run.
21:55And he would always say, you know, sometimes you need to take a 15.
21:58Okay?
21:59And guess what?
22:00The whole guess what?
22:01He would always advocate, like, not only do you want to take a 15, you want to take one, like,
22:06out of bounds.
22:07And maybe straight up hurt a guy if you can.
22:09Okay?
22:10We should get Romo on.
22:11We should.
22:12Somebody should get Romo.
22:14New York Kitty.
22:15You know, I think they just had him on the morning show.
22:17We should get him on the morning.
22:19We should get him on the morning.
22:20We should get him on the morning show.
22:20Green last year, you get a game ball.
22:21Okay?
22:22Okay?
22:22And that's what?
22:23You know, with his teeth.
22:25He's beautiful.
22:26He's unbelievable.
22:26He's all the time.
22:27You talk about old school.
22:28It's Mike Evans doing this while he's hurt, man.
22:31I mean, how well does that go in the locker room to know, you know, I'm nursing some stuff
22:36and he's John Wayne in it.
22:37And he's going out there balling, man.
22:39I'm impressed.
22:40Can I throw something at y'all about Mike Evans?
22:43Um, Mike Evans is literally, I feel like he's teaching me more about football and about
22:50being a wide receiver.
22:51It's not just, oh, you're making some great catches and whatnot.
22:54The subtle nuances of what he does on the field with his body, with his hands, the way
23:00he tricks defenders.
23:01He's a technician.
23:03I feel like, and this will piss people off because he's only been on the Niners for five
23:07games.
23:09Not only you've been saying he's the best wide receiver that Brock Purdy has ever thrown
23:13to, I believe that wholeheartedly as well.
23:15Where are you going?
23:16From a technical standpoint, the nuances of the game, I think that this might be the best
23:23wide receiver who's worn a uniform since Jerry Rice.
23:26And I say that with all deference to T.O. and the greats who have worn this uniform,
23:33but from the technical standpoint of the position, I am so blown away by the little things that
23:41he does to get open, to turn what would be knocked away into a touchdown pass and do
23:48it all the while while he can't breathe and hasn't missed a game yet.
23:52I could not be more impressed with this.
23:54I got T.O. real quick as my second all-time best receiver, but I have no problem with
24:00the technical standpoint.
24:01T.O. was like LeBron.
24:04My DNA and my gifts, and he was raw Hall of Famer, but I don't take that as a slight
24:08to T.O. because they're different, but he is a technician.
24:11They're both Hall of Famers.
24:13Yeah, T.O. obviously is devastating physically and was here for years and years.
24:17Mike's been here for five games.
24:18And didn't have the hands, Mike.
24:19Just the little things that he does on the field, I feel like I haven't seen this in
24:24years and years and years.
24:26And you talk about that one drive, the one long drive of where, you know, you had to
24:30have it.
24:3128-23.
24:32Evans, first and 20.
24:33He gets 15.
24:34And then it's second and five.
24:36Evans for eight.
24:37It's third and 10.
24:38Evans for 23.
24:40And then second and 21.
24:41It's Evans for 28.
24:43And then the two-point conversion.
24:44It's Evans.
24:45And I feel bad for Cooks because he caught the first one, but it was the timeout.
24:50That was on the touchdown.
24:51Touchdown.
24:52And they went back to Cooks.
24:53And then the two-pointer, they had a penalty and it was from the one.
24:56It's like, Evans, how about a little bit more Mike?
24:59And he gets the two.
25:00And they didn't double him at all, even when Debo went down.
25:03Right.
25:03And, I mean, you can go ahead and look at their scheme and say it was a mistake.
25:07But Seattle's got such a great defense and such a swagger, they don't even think about
25:10that, you know?
25:12Evans is special.
25:13He is special.
25:13I don't know if I'm going to go that far with T.O., but I hear what you're saying.
25:16Technically, T.O.'s a badass.
25:18He didn't say better.
25:19He said technically.
25:20I know.
25:20I know.
25:20He said technically.
25:22Don't you feel like, even though we've been watching Mike Evans for a decade, now that
25:26you're watching every play, aren't you kind of like, dude, I was not familiar with how
25:32he was.
25:32See, I knew he was a dude, man.
25:34No, we knew he was a dude.
25:35But, like, the little.
25:36I hear you.
25:37I just, I didn't know.
25:38I didn't know it was this good.
25:39Yeah, when it comes to speculating about trades, Mike Evans is always a guy, we need
25:42to get a Mike Evans type.
25:44We need to get a Mike Evans type because he tied Jerry Rice with the most consecutive 1,000-yard
25:48seasons as a wide receiver.
25:49And even when John Lynch signed him this all, I remember when it happened, fans are freaking
25:54out.
25:54Why are the Niners so quiet this all season?
25:56Why are they so quiet?
25:56Then it comes through the timeline.
25:58Mike Evans is signed with the 49ers.
25:59I'm like, ooh, okay.
26:01He may not be the same player, but this is a player we haven't seen in red and gold in
26:05quite some time.
26:06Somebody who's just straight up hyped to win the football, beat a double, be a red zone threat,
26:10run the fade route, run the slant.
26:11He's a special player.
26:12No doubt.
26:13He's a legend for what he did to Diggs.
26:15I don't think I've ever seen that.
26:16It's a meme.
26:17It's so good.
26:18And everybody knew what he, and I know Diggs, but he gave Diggs love after.
26:22I didn't know it was Diggs because Diggs had fell on some hard times.
26:25He'd be back in the league.
26:26But Diggs, that was awesome.
26:27Who are you?
26:28Without saying, who are you?
26:29That's a vet.
26:30You know, that's what a vet does.
26:32You know, trying to keep it light and, you know, trying to keep it moving.
26:34Willard, what's your last name?
26:36Oh, my goodness.
26:37Oh, look, it's you, Diggs.
26:39I didn't even know you were here with the Seahawks.
26:41Also, I thought it was Jameer Gibbs.
26:43It says Diggs.
26:44You know, quietly, they were unglued yesterday on the Seattle sideline.
26:48You would have thought the Niners were the champs, and they were the little brothers
26:51with all the chirping and instigating they were starting.
26:53But it was great.
26:54It was great theaters.
26:55The top rivalry in football right now.
26:56Yeah.
26:57But I just was a little surprised at how Seattle was becoming unglued
27:01and trying to push that edge against the 49ers yesterday.
27:03For me, it was kind of indicative of the fact that they didn't have their top running back
27:08who is in Kansas City and their next running back who is also out.
27:11And you had Holani, who was trying to carry the ball in a spot where you probably shouldn't have given
27:16him the ball.
27:16Man.
27:17And, you know, Tom Brady couldn't stop talking about how he's carrying it out here.
27:21A loaf of bread out there, man.
27:21A loaf of bread, like, wildly outside his body.
27:25What do y'all want to do at wide receiver just next week?
27:28Okay?
27:29Mike Evans, Jacob Cowling, Brandon Cooks, Jordan Watkins.
27:32You're going to need at least a fifth.
27:35Your practice squad is Malik Turner, Xavier Smith, Wesley Grimes, and Will Pauling.
27:40Or you could head to the streets.
27:42Or you could call the Jags for Brian Thomas.
27:45Monte's got his eye on Juwan Jennings.
27:47I'm just saying, I don't want two chances on the year.
27:50Remember, though, whoever you get, you're going to have Demarcus Robinson, Debo Samuel,
27:56Dejan Stribbling are all rejoining the team in the next month.
28:01What's up with Christian Kirk?
28:02Christian Kirk, him too, but not this week.
28:04Doesn't sound like.
28:05Like a little cat.
28:06And maybe.
28:07I'm at the spot where anything from Kirk is gravy.
28:10Yeah, me too.
28:11I mean, what do you do?
28:12Practice once?
28:13Yeah, he practiced one day.
28:15One day.
28:16Bill Barnwell did a whole thing on Marvin Harrison Jr.
28:20in the midst of his trade on, like, wide receivers who are equally as slow as he is running routes.
28:27And, I mean, two of them.
28:28One is Juwan Jennings.
28:30And the other one, Mike Evans.
28:31Mike Evans.
28:32Yeah, as far as, like, miles per hour per route and, you know, all the rest of it.
28:37That's what they do.
28:37No, but, exactly.
28:38And they're all cut differently, so.
28:40With broken ribs.
28:41Tactical genius.
28:42Wow.
28:42Yeah.
28:42Just a tactical genius out there.
28:45Have fun, guys.
28:46What else?
28:48Have fun.
28:48Come on, man.
28:49Every flippin' Monday.
28:51End of Vox, of course, at W.
28:52Oh, yeah.
28:53Eventually.
28:55It's like a dream.
28:56Saturday.
