00:00All right. The offense started it. The defense finished it. Will Anderson Jr. with three sacks,
00:05I believe all in the fourth quarter, if I'm not mistaken. But he's the leader in the clubhouse
00:11for defensive player of the year right now. And I would say there's nothing that happened today
00:14that is going to move him out of the leaderboard right now. Will Anderson Jr. now has seven and
00:19a half sacks on the season. He had three today. He was a three to one favorite to win that
00:25award
00:25coming into week five today. And I would say he maintains that status, if I had to guess.
00:33Will Anderson Jr. is your Kima Boardwalk signature player of the game. Kima Boardwalk,
00:38the perfect family getaway. Great place. Kima Boardwalk is. Indeed. Great player. Will Anderson
00:43obviously is through this rough stretch at the start of the season. The defense not playing up
00:50to expectations. Will Anderson has damn sure done that. Kepa single-handedly in a couple of games
00:56and is definitely putting up big numbers, man. It's good to see, man. He deserves. I like to see
01:02good things happen to good people, obviously. And he's one of them good dudes, man. I'd like to see
01:08him put up a number that nobody can ignore, regardless of what the record is. Good as it gets.
01:13Yeah. Seven sacks today for the Houston Texans. And Daniil Hunter only had one sack, but he was
01:18very active today, I thought. I thought Daniil, I thought 55. I thought he had two. He had,
01:23according to the box score, according to the box score, he had one. I thought I saw two flat out
01:26two boxes. Reid Blankenship. Oh, no, sorry. That's, hang on. TFLs. No, Daniil Hunter, one sack. Okay.
01:31Will Anderson, three sacks. Oh, sorry. They only had four sacks on the day. He had seven TFLs on the
01:35day. Four sacks. Don't put me in charge of the box score, man. I just know Will Anderson Jr. was
01:40piling up the numbers at the end of the game today. And that was fun to see. Well, it was
01:44good to see,
01:45you mentioned Daniil Hunter. It was good to see Daniil Hunter throughout a game, you know,
01:50be a, be a big factor. It, it, I thought he had two sacks, but obviously had one and, um,
01:55but he was pressing the pocket and, and, and, you know, kind of getting back to the old Daniil
01:59Hunter. It seemed like today. Uh, hopefully that wasn't just a lesser opponent. Hopefully that was,
02:03was him kind of hitting stride. All right. Text message here. And then we'll go back to the phones.
02:07To me, this Marvin Harrison move is a desperation move by a desperate GM after seeing his free agent
02:12and trade acquisitions blow up in his face. Trading your future for immediate help would
02:17have made sense if we thought we had a realistic chance to go to the Superbowl. I don't see that
02:21with a one in four record and don't trust this coaching staff to dig us out of this hole that
02:26they put this team in. I think those are all fair things too. I think those are all understandable
02:32takes on the Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade. Um, understandable. I don't know if I agree with all of them,
02:37but I think they're all, they're all understandable. The, the one confirmation is this team does not
02:43look at its look itself in the mirror and see a one in four football team. They see a one
02:47in four
02:48football team that had a chance to win at least three of those four losses. And they, they think,
02:52I didn't know. I don't know if people agree. I don't think they're as good a football team as
02:56they were last year, even with CJ Stroud playing as well as he is right now. At least they haven't
03:00been
03:00through five games. The defense figures some things out and they start to get back to that level
03:04they were at last year. Then I can listen to it, but they can't run the football still,
03:07even today there were some better runs out there. And I think Woody Marks brings a little more juice
03:11and pop to that running back position, but this look a lot of one in four teams would be doing
03:17the
03:17opposite. The Cardinals are doing the opposite. They're the ones trading you the player for the
03:21draft capital. So this team clearly does not see this year as a lost cause. And I think you brought
03:25up another good point with this is that look, this Marvin Harrison Jr. thing, this is not like
03:30Keyshawn Booty where he's gone after this year. He's still under team control for two more years
03:34after this one also. Yeah. I mean, look at any, and he's got, he's, he's done his best work.
03:39He made his name a lot of it, at least with, with CJ Stroud. And so you've got a firsthand
03:45account in
03:46the building of a guy that you can argue he's going to impact more than anybody else in the
03:50building, CJ Stroud. And, and so, um, you know, that, that means a lot. I just, I don't see it
03:57as a
03:57desperation move. I mean, I, you can sit around. I know a lot of people think that tank is going
04:01to come
04:02back and be what he once was. That would be great. I would love it. Um, some people think
04:06that Jaden Higgins had arrived. I thought he was having a tremendous camp obviously, but we still
04:11don't know. We've never seen him do it in the regular season. Um, I think Keyshawn Booty is
04:16better than he's shown to be in the NFL. Clearly they don't think so. They can't get it out of
04:21him
04:21in this, in this offense. Uh, I liked the other guys. I thought Jalen Noel was going to be a
04:26guy
04:26that would even, even with the injuries would be, be a plug and play player. But, you know,
04:30I think there's some scuttlebutt about maybe he, you know, he struggles with, with knowing the
04:34offense and, and processing things mentally. And, and so, you know, all of that stuff aside is,
04:41is you've got to, you've got to find a path forward to where your entire, your ability to move the
04:47football and score points doesn't hinge on one guy pulling a hamstring. Yeah. Right. I mean,
04:52I mean, this, this offense falls off a cliff and I know there's OC issues and there's O-line issues
04:58and I get it. Uh, we've seen that we've, we've ran the game. There was a quarterback issue last
05:02year in the playoffs. I get it. But the reality of it is if you get a chance with a
05:06second round
05:06pick to bring in a former fourth overall who hasn't had time in the league to lose everything
05:11that made him the fourth overall pick, um, I, I think it's worth, it's worth a gamble.
05:16And, uh, I mean, you look down the list at, at, at, you know, Nick's last 10 second round
05:22picks and you got guys that are inactive. You got rotational players. You got guys that
05:27are, aren't even on the team anymore. You got guys, uh, I mean, Ross Blacklock back in
05:32the day was a second round. That wasn't Nick, but yeah, he was a second round.
05:36Just second round picks in general. I mean, John Mechie, uh, you know, Jalen Petrie,
05:40Juice Scruggs, Blake Fisher. I mean, these are all second round picks and, and, you know,
05:44taking us, taking us shot at, at a, uh, a former fourth overall. Yeah. I'm here for
05:48it, man. All right. 713-572-4610. Let's go back out to the phone, see what the people
05:53think. And we'll go to the Northwest side. Talk to John, John, you're up on Texans post
05:57game. Hey man. Hey man. I am so happy. You know, when I heard yesterday morning on one
06:03of them sports shows, they were talking about Marvin has and junior, I immediately put it
06:09together. When they said they couldn't announce what team I say, Oh, this is CJ Stroud behind
06:14this right here. Listen, I watched Marvin has some junior and CJ Stroud play at Ohio state
06:21against Georgia. First, we know Ohio state should have won that game. It hadn't been for that
06:26stupid coach from Ohio to take the ball out of CJ Stroud hanging and have this kicker kick
06:32the ball and he yanked it. They would have won that game. And Georgia was a heck of a team
06:37with that defense. But listen, I saw people don't know. I saw Marvin Harrison catch some
06:44balls. Marvin has and junior have got some grips. He's got some magical hands. I know
06:51it hadn't been good for him over there with the Cardinals, but I've watched receivers for
06:56many years, micro and all of them for many years to receive. I can't think his name used
07:02to be with Washington back in the sixties that caught all about Marvin has and junior got
07:07great hands. Let me tell you something. CJ Stroud going to get it right. And like you
07:12say, Ken, I don't think he was happy up there with the Cardinals. Hell no, everybody that
07:17go over there, very few players over there, uh, get good and all that. No Stroud going to
07:23straighten his buddy out. He going to help his buddy catch that ball. Cause I'm going to
07:28tell him, just run that route that we ran over there at Ohio state. And I'm going to throw
07:32it to Nico Collins is going to help him. It's going to be wonderful. And I think it
07:37was you playing on Sean that said, I think the Texans finally realized if we can't run
07:43the ball, where we going to just throw it and throw it and throw it on. And we're going
07:47to win that way. And that's proud game. Stroud love that man. Now they just have one more thing
07:54that they need to do. And you guys may not agree with me and that's okay too, because I'm
08:00going to believe what I believe that kid, Gerard, that little running back. Is he healthy?
08:07He's talking about Gerard Jordan. Yes, sir. Gerard Jordan. Yeah. He's on the practice squad.
08:12Listen, man, I said last season, they should have brought him up. If Montgomery is hurt,
08:18this kid here runs East, West, North and South, and he can shake tackles. And I'm not saying he's
08:26this guy, but when you watch him run Clinton, Sean, he runs like Jamal Charles, man. Yeah, man,
08:33you bring him up with marks, you get, you, you got speed and quickness. This offensive line of
08:40pandy, they cannot open holes for a power runner, but let's bring up this kid here along with marks
08:48and let's see if the defense, if that defense can stop these guys, they'll have a better running
08:54game. But Hey man, I just love it, man. I love it to death, man. Watch and see. It's going
08:59to be
09:00okay, man. I just want to say that. Appreciate it, man. Appreciate the phone call. Appreciate you
09:05jumping in. Gerard, look, if this David Montgomery groin injury holds up to, to where he can't play
09:12this coming weekend, we may see some Gerard Jordan. Gerard Jordan and Noah Whittington were on the
09:17practice squad. Noah Whittington, I don't know if a lot of Texan fans knew this because he was on the
09:20practice squad, but he blew out a quad. I think it was, and he's done for the season. So they're
09:25the,
09:25the extent of their running back depth right now in, in the building is pretty thin. You know,
09:31if, if, if Woody marks, uh, if Woody marks something happened to Woody marks today, we're
09:35back to Daria Gumbawale land. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, today it would have been British Brooks is on injured
09:40reserve. Like that may be somewhere they need to go. I, when I, when I, uh, saw the, you know,
09:45the reports of the Marvin Harrison jr. Trade yesterday, and then what David Montgomery goes out of the game
09:50today, I think I turned to our boss Parker. I said, does Arizona have any running backs
09:54they can toss into the deal? Okay. Toss this Jeremiah love guy in. That would be great.
09:59I would love that. Yeah. Nick, Nick may throw a nice draft pick. A couple of them. Yeah. But what,
10:05so who's in the building, who's in the building that's healthy? Well, I think obviously, or might
10:08be healthy. Well, obviously Woody marks Daria Gumbawale. Jawar Jordan is on the practice squad last
10:15I checked. And I think that, that might be it at the, at the running back position for
10:20the team. Well, look at Jawar, I would not, I would not have a problem at all with Jawar
10:24Jordan. I thought Jawar Jordan has stepped in last year, went for over a hundred in a game.
10:28If you, if you watch him play, um, which all of these backs are, are, are appear to be really,
10:33really good at pass protecting. So you don't, you don't lose anything there. And in a sense of
10:37having been in the offense or the ability to execute, you know, things without the ball in his
10:43hand, you know, he can do all of those things. So he, he should be a plug and play. And,
10:47and again,
10:48going back to what I think is going to give you the best chance to have success behind this
10:53offensive line and this scheme, I believe is going to be more of a one cut back, a slasher,
10:58uh, instead of this power back that runs up the back end of offensive lineman or runs up there and
11:03stutters his feet. So, I mean, I, I wouldn't be opposed to that, Sean, if that does end up being
11:07what the, what the running back room looks like, unless they go outside the building, one of these two guys
11:11is going to be up with the team in London this week, active, either Jawar Jordan or Deuce Vaughn,
11:18the kid out of Kansas state who played for the Cowboys for a minute. I'd bet, I'd bet several
11:22house notes that it's, it's a Jawar Jordan. Well, he's proven it as a Texan before for at least a
11:27couple of games. I mean, look, look, I know nobody, nobody likes, uh, Deuce Vaughn more than me. I mean,
11:33his dad was a coach of mine in college and one of the best human beings ever been around. I
11:37mean,
11:37Deuce, uh, I don't think he was born yet, but, but he may have been a little, little, uh, little
11:42crumb snatcher running around the field over on the sidelines. But, but so, I mean, I look, I'd love
11:47to see him get in there and play, but the reality of it is, is, you know, you, you've with
11:51this team
11:51right now, you first and foremost, got to be able to step up into a gap and take on a
11:55linebacker and
11:56pass protect, uh, and anchor down a bit. And I just, I don't know that he's going to give you
12:00the best
12:00option. For those who don't know, Deuce Vaughn is five foot six and that's, and I'd be willing to bet
12:05you
12:05that's just, it's maybe generous that, but that's just his program height. Right. Right. So, um,
12:09yeah. So seven, one, three, five, seven, two, four, six, 10. Someone just put it in the text
12:14page. One 800 Joe Mixon, Joe enough to work out with folks. Well for workout, but not healthy enough
12:21to pass a physical with, with the Seahawks, I guess. So, um, all right. Uh, we'll continue to roll
12:27through your phone calls and the five o'clock hour. We'll hear from CJ Stroud, CJ Stroud learning of
12:31the Marvin Harrison trade right about the same time. Obviously he knew what was going on with
12:35it like we all did, but it became official right before he took to the podium today.
12:39So we'll hear from CJ Stroud on that.
