Willard and Dibs join Guru and Bonta (in for Steiny) on a Tuesday edition of the Crossover. The guys react to the 49ers' win over the Broncos, check in on where the 49ers stand through four weeks of the NFL season, and break down a couple storylines about the Warriors in the preseason.
Transcript
00:00Browns are gonna Browns. F*** that.
00:02That's me against Vitella. I'm an Italian.
00:05Committed to winning.
00:06Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:15Yeah, it's the crossover.
00:17My guy, Bonte Hill, short timer, doing a lot of things.
00:22Ladies and gentlemen, let's bring him in.
00:24He's got the same shoes as George Kittle.
00:26He is a multi-media star, Bonte Hill, Hill, Hill, Hill, Hill.
00:36Hey, hey, Dibbs, wow.
00:40You give me that look, man.
00:42You give me that look and it scares me.
00:45Look, I don't know if I did anything right today because Dibbs, every look, he came in the studio and
00:50he just looks at me.
00:51That same look right there.
00:53That look right there.
00:55I wish I was on YouTube because I don't like this.
00:59What I don't like about this look is what happens when you do a radio show with you.
01:03So you're wearing this soccer jersey.
01:05It's not rugby.
01:06It's just all black.
01:07Rugby team.
01:08It doesn't matter.
01:10The point is when I look at you.
01:12All blacks.
01:13But you've got a monitor in front of you with a microphone covering the center.
01:18You look like a priest.
01:20No, look at you.
01:22If you could, I want to take a picture of you and show it to you.
01:25What's blocking you?
01:26You look like a priest.
01:29Well, I mean, if it's all about celibacy, then I might as well be a priest.
01:35Hello.
01:36Hello, friends.
01:37Yes.
01:38Time for the crossover.
01:39No, no, it is time.
01:40Brought to you by Bay Alarm.
01:43I came in quick because, you know, earlier today you did the legal and might have been
01:50like 10 after the hour.
01:51It was a little bit loosey-goosey.
01:53It was eight.
01:53I had it at 10, but I could be wrong.
01:55And then here we are in the crossover and you and Willard are catching up like a couple
01:59of old fraternity brothers from the late 90s.
02:03And so I thought, you know what?
02:04I'm coming in.
02:04I'm going to reset it.
02:06Let's get Bonte Hill.
02:07Like, let's get Radio Bonte back.
02:09No.
02:09Let's do this.
02:10I understand why.
02:11Guru, it just dawned on me.
02:13I mean, it's why he is wearing the all-blacks jersey today.
02:17Why do you think?
02:18Because Phil Boat Mike didn't give him the black art yesterday.
02:20Oh, there you go.
02:21Then he had to.
02:22There you go.
02:22There's a method to his madness.
02:24There you go.
02:24You got your black art.
02:25There you go.
02:25I'm always giving you the black art.
02:27From the first day I met you, you've always had the black art.
02:30I appreciate you.
02:31I appreciate you.
02:32Only one from the station, the little stat.
02:34Yeah.
02:35For Lil D's graduation in sack.
02:37Y'all never forget it.
02:38I think it was your daughter's graduation, actually.
02:39But don't ruin a good story with that.
02:42I mean, whatever.
02:43I showed up.
02:45And it may or may not have been because I was in a hellacious fight with the wife.
02:51Don't let that ruin an otherwise good story.
02:54It's like, oh, yeah?
02:56Okay.
02:56I'm going to Elk Grove.
02:58I'll show you.
02:59And I might have been the first one there and the last one out.
03:03Whatever.
03:03That's neither here nor there.
03:04I do have a way of doing that at parties.
03:06Oh, yeah.
03:07The Super Bowl's on the phone.
03:08It sure is.
03:09Your watch party.
03:10Yep.
03:10Whatever.
03:11Although you used to leave the Hooters parties early with Hurricane Gail.
03:14Oh, well, the Caner.
03:16Like, sometimes you had to go to the bullpen.
03:18And I actually was not at Hooters.
03:20It was at the other one before we went to, like, rookies in San Jose.
03:25Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:26In San Jose.
03:27And Bubba Paris picked up my sister.
03:29Not like, hey, what are you doing later?
03:31Like, he physically picked her up.
03:34Okay.
03:34I looked over.
03:35I'm like, oh, my God.
03:36The Caner is in the air.
03:38And, yeah, Bubba Paris had picked up my sister.
03:41But those were good times back when, you know, the Niners wouldn't ever think about making it.
03:46So we could do, like, the two conference championship games.
03:49We do a station event.
03:50It'd be fun.
03:51And then.
03:51Campbell, California.
03:52Well, and then the Niners got good.
03:53It's like, well, we can't do this anymore.
03:55And they also shut down Hooters around here.
03:57Even in Campbell?
03:58Yeah, even in Campbell.
03:59Oh.
04:00That I did not know.
04:01They should go for the wings.
04:02The wings were good.
04:02Yeah.
04:03Yeah, you went for the wings.
04:04That's what we used to say.
04:05Oh, these drives are for my friends.
04:08My best friend, Big Dog.
04:10My best friend, Big Dog City Guru knows them.
04:13He chipped a tooth off one of those wings in Vegas.
04:16Yeah, it wasn't good.
04:16I really like the silverware that they have there.
04:18It's my style.
04:20The wings are really good.
04:20Striped down the middle.
04:21Wings are fresh Hooters.
04:23That's sad.
04:24All right.
04:24Anyway.
04:25How's everybody doing?
04:25No doubt.
04:26Doing all right.
04:26Doing great, yeah.
04:27Doing all right.
04:28Honestly, Father Dibs.
04:29I wish it was Saturday.
04:31I can't wait for this game, man.
04:33Sunday.
04:34Duh.
04:34Yeah, Sunday.
04:35You guys, I heard you talking about this.
04:37I made the premise.
04:38Tell me if I'm off because I know it would rub Stiney wrong.
04:41Both teams are going to try to win.
04:43And we had Ross Tucker on.
04:44He was like, Seattle, of course, you know, don't want to go down.
04:47Two losses to the Niners.
04:48But I feel like the Niners need to know that gap is not as wide or there's no gap as
04:57opposed
04:57to Seattle getting the best of them two of the last three times.
05:00There's no lessening the importance of this game, but I don't agree.
05:05I think this is a bigger game for Seattle.
05:07Really?
05:08Yeah, you're down two games and kind of two and a half games if you lose it.
05:12If the Niners lose it, you're both four and one.
05:15This is just chapter one.
05:16Yeah.
05:17It's just chapter one.
05:19I used chapter one.
05:19You're going to see him again.
05:21Could be three.
05:22It could be three.
05:23You've already – look, the Niners are already 2-0 in the division.
05:27The Rams and Seahawks are kind of quickly up a creek if the Seahawks lose this game.
05:32If Philly would have held on to that one over the Rams.
05:34I know you guys are talking on the emotional side of it.
05:37Psychologically?
05:37I acknowledge that.
05:39But that doesn't supersede the map.
05:41These are new teams.
05:42Ross says the same thing.
05:43So, like, what if –
05:44Divs, the Niners went to the red zone one time in the last two games against the Seahawks.
05:50If they still had that same success against the Niners and the way it looks, I disagree with Willard.
05:56Shocker.
05:57I think it's a bigger game for the Niners.
05:59Good old days.
06:00I think it's bigger for Seattle just based on the reality of if they lose, the Niners are 3-0
06:05in the division.
06:06And they are two games up on Seattle with the tiebreaker and with the second tiebreaker of the divisional record.
06:12And the next game that you play is going to be back here.
06:16So, if you're Seattle, this is one where if you are a real Super Bowl contender, you go out there
06:22and you win.
06:22You have your quarterback back.
06:23Your running game is a big question mark, but you still have JSN.
06:27And nobody's had really an answer for him in that.
06:30And the one thing that you hold over Shanahan still is Mike McDonald is the Shanahan Whisperer.
06:37That part.
06:37So, that's the one where you go out there and you win this game 17-15 or whatever it is.
06:43It's a defensive struggle.
06:44You hold them down.
06:46It's in your house.
06:47If you're Seattle, this game is much more important for you.
06:50That's why the smartest show in America could.
06:52Yeah.
06:53Or we're wrong.
06:54Could be.
06:55I mean, I could be.
06:56Don't let me get hot.
06:58You don't want to do too much math in the first five weeks of the year.
07:02But, yeah, it's not just Niners would already have game in hand against the Rams,
07:07already have a game in hand against the Seahawks, but it's both of their technical road games.
07:12Rams and Seahawks would need to come back from this and they would have to do it at Levi's.
07:16And, you know, that's a thing.
07:19That's a thing.
07:20Like, if you're thinking about, we know this division is going to spit out at least two playoff teams.
07:24I got three steals.
07:25And you're probably right.
07:27So, I mean, that means home field advantage and the division are of the utmost importance.
07:32The Niners, if five weeks in, they've already got three division wins plus roadies against the Rams and Seahawks.
07:37That's monstrous.
07:38Yeah, and I said this to be earlier.
07:41Nobody's season is over, especially with me telling you three teams from the division are going to make it.
07:46But from a competitive standpoint,
07:55to come back and take that exam.
07:58So, for me and what I think of Kyle and their brilliance,
08:01and the only guy, to be honest, I've seen Mike McDonald just dominate the Niners and guys were missing.
08:08No Mike Evans.
08:09I want to see early.
08:12Okay, because you're off to 4-0 and everybody's saying the right things and they deserve it.
08:17But, Will, I just, I got to believe Kyle's like, I get an early chance to show we've went to
08:23the lab and that gap is,
08:25goo, that gap is not what it was those two games, baby.
08:28I meet you in the middle.
08:29Okay.
08:30If the 49ers can't score more than 10 points, then, yeah, there's an issue.
08:36But you still get two more chapters possibly to address it.
08:38No, you do, but that's almost, I'm not saying, look, the outcome of the game is of the utmost importance,
08:43but what kind of a game did they lose?
08:46Did they lose 13-3 again?
08:47Are you suffocated?
08:48I got you.
08:49If they lose 13-3 again, then, yeah, that feels like a real problem.
08:54Why do you think McDonald just has Shanahan's number?
08:56I think that what he does defensively is exactly what Brock Purdy tries to avoid,
09:02which is, you know, Brock Purdy gets to the line and he looks and he goes,
09:06okay, I got you, linebacker.
09:08I got you, safety.
09:09I'm going to watch you and see what you do when I snap the ball.
09:12And he gets ready to snap it and the clock goes to six, it goes to five,
09:16and then they do a little bit of a last-minute shift or on the snap,
09:19they do things that he didn't otherwise expect.
09:23And so now that Brock Purdy, his keys, and we had Greg Cosell,
09:27and Greg Cosell's like, yeah, he's keying off the linebacker.
09:29He's keying off the safety.
09:30If the safety comes down, then he goes over the top.
09:33If the safety goes back, then he knows the middle's open.
09:35I think Seattle does such a good job of mixing it up,
09:40and maybe less so this year because they don't have the same personnel,
09:42but Mike McDonald does exactly what Shanahan does, but on the defensive side,
09:47which is, you know, Shanahan, you've got Juszczyk and Kittle and McCaffrey
09:51and Debo, and you break the huddle.
09:54Well, Debo's in the backfield, and now McCaffrey's in the slot,
09:56and then you shift McCaffrey back in, and Debo goes there,
10:00and here comes Kittle.
10:01It's like, wait, what are they doing?
10:02I think Seattle does the same thing on defense.
10:04Damn.
10:05I can't wait for Cosell to break down what Denver did
10:08to hold them to three points in the first half.
10:11Like, I can't wait because Denver did.
10:13That was impressive.
10:14They also now, I mean, Seattle wins the Super Bowl.
10:18That means a lot of people spent all summer trying to unlock some keys,
10:22and they've given up a lot more points so far this year,
10:26and Dib's point, too.
10:27This is completely different personnel.
10:30You weren't like, you didn't go to Seattle or play Seattle even here last year
10:34with Mike Evans over there and Debo Samuel over here,
10:38and, you know, the last time they went there,
10:40obviously, it was the game where George Kittle got hurt.
10:42But, so, like, I—
10:45Offensive line playing way better.
10:46Yeah, it's different.
10:48It's different.
10:49You would hope—you would hope that.
10:50I still think it's not going to be a high-scoring game.
10:52Yeah.
10:53I'm with you.
10:54Divisional game, bloodbath, teams don't like each other.
10:58It'll be physical.
10:59What should the expectations be for Mike Hill-Williams?
11:02Because he seems like a first-round pick that we've kind of forgotten about.
11:05He was really good against the run.
11:08Raw is a pass rusher.
11:09He may come back on Sunday.
11:11He's going to practice again this week.
11:13I mean, they could use a boost on that defensive line.
11:15Again, good against the run.
11:16And we know Seattle wants to run the football.
11:18What should our expectations be for Mike Hill-Williams?
11:21Because he's been kind of forgotten about, Divis.
11:23Yeah, I think we should wait until probably November because, you know,
11:26when you come back off an ACL, even though you rehab,
11:29it's going to take more than just like, okay, now you're ready to go.
11:32I do think that you have to give him a little bit of grace.
11:34And think about Nick Bosa, where Nick Bosa was great through, what, two games
11:39and then the calf.
11:40And so now he has to go back on the sideline.
11:42So I think with Mike Hill-Williams, it's going to be a little bit more of a slow play,
11:48like pitch count wise.
11:49And you get after the bye.
11:50And then, okay, Mike Hill, now let's go ahead and ramp you up
11:52and see what you have to offer.
11:54And so that, for me, becomes more of a fair way to look at a young player,
11:58a guy who played, what, six or seven games last year as a rook.
12:02And look, I mean, he was looking good.
12:04He was getting better and better and better.
12:06And then it's a boom ACL.
12:07So I think, for me, I'm looking at November as opposed to this Sunday.
12:13Grandy, 2 o'clock, legal.
12:15We got to do the legal.
12:17Never do it.
12:18You're interrupting conversations, Grandy, man.
12:20I got it in your ear, and that's it.
12:222 o'clock.
12:23I'm listening to Divers, man.
12:25He's breaking it down.
12:26He's on the roll right now.
12:27All right?
12:29Grandy, taskmaster.
12:31I know how to tell time.
12:32Time for the legal.
12:33Yeah, Chris Mullen is furious with what you just said.
12:34I know how to tell time.
12:35Yeah, you're on Mully's hit list.
12:37He checked you, too.
12:38We got him straight for a post-game show.
12:40Nacho Grande, the legal.
12:42And you guys got a big guess at three.
12:44Yeah, you guys do.
12:45Natalie Nicasse.
12:47Should I do the guess?
12:48Should I do the legal now?
12:49Yeah, make me feel at home and squint and look over here
12:52at the sign.
12:54Listen to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ, FM, and HG1 San Francisco
13:00and Odyssey Sports Station.
13:02Always live on the free Odyssey app,
13:03and now broadcasting from the Laughing Monk Studios.
13:06That was a good acting job.
13:07That's a dead nine.
13:08That was not hard for you at all.
13:09No, it wasn't.
13:10You made it feel like it was hard,
13:12so the old priest over here felt good about himself.
13:15Not to brag, but Dr. Craig Bendy, three years ago,
13:18Toby, I had 2010 on my left eye, 2020 on my right eye.
13:21Yeah.
13:22Maybe he'll sponsor the text line one day.
13:24Sure, for now.
13:24I mean, coming up in 15 years, you'll be squinting like the rest of us.
13:28I do think about the Seattle game in terms of what they are facing.
13:33So Seattle, after they host the Diners, they've got a sharp week.
13:36Shout out, Loneal, at Denver on Thursday.
13:39So that's a tough game for Seattle.
13:41So you might be looking at this one as not a must win,
13:44but like of the two games, like this one's probably bigger for Seattle
13:49than the Denver game.
13:50But no, Patrick, it's a tan for Denver probably in that Thursday night game, right?
13:53Well, I'll say this about Seattle.
13:55We ran this by Ross Tucker.
13:57And a year ago, I think I told you, I know I told you,
14:00running backs matter, and I was mad about the pay scale.
14:04And Seattle, I know is euphoria.
14:06Shout out HBO.
14:07But the bottom line is, how could you just take for granted
14:11Kenneth Walker III, who is changing the fortune, I believe,
14:16of Patrick Mahomes and that Kansas City offense.
14:19And I can't wait to see the Niners not have to worry about Kenneth Walker III.
14:25Like, I think Seattle is kicking themselves like we let a guy get away.
14:29He could be the MVP.
14:30I know we give them the quarterbacks.
14:32You see the way he's running the ball in Kansas City?
14:34No, he should be in the conversation.
14:36He won't be because he's a running back.
14:38But right now, he looks like he might be Seattle's DeForest Buckner,
14:42which is, and teams do this.
14:44You get to a certain number, and you're like,
14:46All right, we'll go get Javon Kinlaw instead.
14:49And then a couple, you get halfway through the year,
14:53and they're like, oops, Janarian Price is on IR.
14:57How about if we sign Joe Mixon?
14:59Oops, turns out he's still not passing physicals,
15:03and you end up with the Packers' third string running back
15:05as your starter, because Charbonnet is not ready to go.
15:09Yeah, I think that it's not even just regret the move.
15:12Do you regret having him be a timeshare his entire time there?
15:17The dude is a one, man.
15:20He's awesome.
15:21He's running for KC, man.
15:23He is, and we were talking about this yesterday.
15:25Like, running backs who win the MVP,
15:27the last one to do it was AD, Adrian Peterson.
15:31Oh, man, all day.
15:31He had a 2,000-yard-plus year, and he had an historic year.
15:37So if K9 wants to go ahead and get that, they have to be, I don't know, 15-2,
15:43and he has to go for 2,000-plus.
15:45But beyond that, it's a quarterback award.
15:47He's got two games over 170-plus rushing guys.
15:50That's just 300-yard games.
15:52I'm watching it, man.
15:52I mean, he is running hard.
15:54Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley on the screen week-to-week with a hamstring injury.
15:57Oh, you think?
15:58Yeah.
15:58Yes.
15:59He's not playing.
16:00He's not playing.
16:02Is he going to travel to London?
16:03I don't even think he's going to go to London.
16:04He's going to Alaska on that season.
16:07Doc Child tweeted right after that injury.
16:10They took him off, and he goes, won't need his passport either.
16:12No.
16:13Keep that at home.
16:14Go ahead and just stay home and watch this one.
16:16He will not get a stamp on the passport.
16:18We were having some fun, and Willard, you text us about most surprising teams,
16:22most disappointing teams.
16:23That was fun listening.
16:24Coaches.
16:25You know, who are we sleeping on?
16:27Who are we overrating?
16:29Willard got to give his answer for most.
16:31The one he disappointed in.
16:33He can't stand it.
16:33We know that.
16:34Not only can I not stand it, but think about it.
16:36You actually opened the door for this in a certain way of answering the question.
16:40Most disappointing.
16:42Not worst, but what's most disappointing?
16:44If you're going to spend all August saying that this is the greatest Super Bowl favorite
16:48that we can remember in a decade, and then you're going to open up the season
16:53by admitting that you screwed up game one.
16:56Maybe.
16:57You blow a 16-point lead in game three.
17:02Game four, you come out, and you owe Nick Sirianni muffins for the fact that you won that game.
17:08Well, we won the game.
17:09And you bailed on a press conference because you're too pissed off to handle it?
17:14I had things to do.
17:14Stop it.
17:15Like, he's having a very disappointing start to the year.
17:19I disagree with that.
17:19I mean, we're two games back.
17:20And honestly, if you look at it, we're one game back in Seattle.
17:22And yeah, the whole thing in Australia was a little bit of a miscalculation by me.
17:26It was a miscalculation sensation.
17:27And I love Tim Roy, so that's a buck.
17:29And if you look beyond that, and, you know, Philadelphia is Philadelphia.
17:32And Sirianni and Big Dom, I mean, they didn't know what they were doing.
17:35And so we kept fighting.
17:37We kept our chin forward and our nose up and our eyes open.
17:39And we kept our ears wax-free.
17:41And, you know, we had gel in our hair and the rest of it.
17:43And so we played all 60 minutes.
17:45And we're two and two.
17:45So you can say what you want, Mick Willard.
17:47But, you know, we're right there.
17:49I will say that.
17:50That's pretty damn good.
17:51You're having a disappointing year.
17:53I disagree.
17:54Okay.
17:55We're two and two.
17:56Yeah, two and two is the disappointing year, by the way.
17:59Well, I mean.
17:59And you're on 60 minutes.
18:00It wasn't really 60 minutes.
18:02My whole piece is about 15 minutes.
18:03So, honestly, they should change the name of it to 15 minutes because there are multiple segments.
18:07But, I mean, honestly, if you look at it,
18:09we can win our next 13 games and be 15-2.
18:12And then what?
18:12Then what would you guys say?
18:14That is good stuff, man.
18:16That is good stuff.
18:17Who are we sleeping on?
18:18Who's the most disappointing team?
18:19Three of the guys picked the Chargers.
18:21I get it.
18:22For disappointing, obviously.
18:24But I'm going with the Houston Texans.
18:26They had held that defense as the next.
18:29They were like the 0-2 Bucs coming into the season, right?
18:31I don't understand.
18:32Especially the way they ended the season.
18:33They've given up 36 points to Buffalo.
18:35Gave up 34 to Dallas.
18:37All right, 20 against Cincinnati.
18:38That's pretty good considering their offensive firepower.
18:41But 0-4 in Houston.
18:43Would this blow you away?
18:44The Houston Texans have given up the most points in the AFC.
18:47Yes.
18:48That defense was damn near perfect.
18:49I don't understand.
18:50It's not like they're not missing their people.
18:53I feel like you're the owner saying that to D'Amico.
18:55What's going on?
18:56I don't get it.
18:57Defensively, too.
18:57I don't get it.
18:58They've had a home.
18:59Like, three of their four games have been at home.
19:03Like, sure.
19:04You think his seat's hot, D'Amico?
19:05I don't think so yet.
19:07I think he can sustain one of these.
19:08It's early.
19:09They made the offs before two games.
19:11And their losses are to, like, they've played good teams.
19:13I'll give them that.
19:14But I don't get it.
19:15I don't get why they're giving up 35 and 40 in home games to anybody.
19:19My thing yesterday, and I don't know if we did this on the air,
19:22but, like, which former Shanahan assistant loses his job first?
19:27Is it Salah?
19:28Is it Ryan's?
19:29Or is it Mike McDaniel as the OC in L.A.?
19:32Well, this will be Salah's second before anybody's first.
19:35No, Mike's already lost one.
19:37And D'Amico's third year?
19:38Yeah.
19:39At least it could be fourth, actually.
19:41Well, they made the playoffs, though.
19:43Salah just got there.
19:45He's fine.
19:46Salah hasn't made a playoff.
19:48Well, he didn't make the playoffs.
19:49I mean, Mike McDaniel got the absolute worst thing to happen to him.
19:53The Vodacombs.
19:55Yeah.
19:56I heard that.
19:56Although a weird one.
19:57It's like a godfather with a kiss on frame.
19:59What if I told you I'm more disappointed with what he hasn't done
20:02for the young Thundercat in L.A. than his whole Miami stint?
20:07He was supposed to come fix Herbert or add to him.
20:10They look like a train wreck.
20:12Their offensive line, though, is completely decimated.
20:15And we need to stop giving Herbert the Thundercat moniker.
20:20He's not a Thundercat.
20:22He's a cat.
20:23He's a little cat.
20:24He's like a cat.
20:25Meow, meow.
20:25Meow, meow.
20:25Come in.
20:26He's a little meow, meow.
20:27Stop being a little cat.
20:28He's not a Thundercat.
20:30He's just not.
20:30I got you, man.
20:31Something doesn't fit there.
20:32Stop being a little cat.
20:33Somebody's not.
20:34Somebody's not vibing.
20:35I'm listening to Harbaugh, and I'm like, is he telling the truth?
20:38Well, okay, Harbaugh hiring Mike McDaniel.
20:42Could you find two people more different?
20:45First of all, one guy is like a forward-thinking, throw-the-ball downfield.
20:52I know he's a run-game coordinator as well.
20:54Harbaugh's three yards in a cloud of dust.
20:56McDaniel holds every press conference like it's stand-up comedy hour.
21:00And Jim has never smiled in his life, and when he does, it's weird and awkward.
21:03And he's known to be kind of a jerk and has seemingly been having aneurysms in the middle of interviews
21:10for the last two months.
21:12You ask him questions, and he freezes like a computer.
21:15I don't know.
21:16I don't know what the hell is.
21:18How did it happen?
21:19What about the video of them practicing handoffs?
21:22I watched that like 30 times.
21:25It's just.
21:26I don't.
21:27Right.
21:28I don't know what's happening.
21:29Is it pop order?
21:30Like we're practicing handoffs?
21:32Did you see that video?
21:34Oh, yeah.
21:34It was weird.
21:37Hey, Harbaugh, yeah.
21:38I don't know what's going on with the Chodges.
21:39Yeah.
21:40By the way, I thought Guru was going to bring up the brothers in the league.
21:44It's not doing too well.
21:45The black coaches have like a combine.
21:481-11.
21:49Is that so?
21:501-11?
21:51Do we consider it?
21:53Are we considering Robert Sala to be a brother?
21:55It would have been 1-15 if they had him out, but 1-11.
21:59Because Tom Bowles may be out of the way out in Tampa Bay.
22:02Man, I thought Todd's wasn't going to survive last year, but 1-11.
22:06By the way, Natalie DeCasse, 3 o'clock.
22:083 o'clock.
22:09Can I wait for that?
22:09She scared me the other night.
22:11They fainted.
22:13Yeah, exactly.
22:14No, that was scary.
22:15No, it's very scary.
22:16And the thing about Natalie, and we probably won't get too much into it because it's a health
22:21thing, but the thing that impressed me the most is, so she faints, and she gets up after
22:27whatever, seven seconds, and it takes her about 20 seconds, and everyone's concerned.
22:31And after 30 seconds, it's, where's the clipboard?
22:34Boom.
22:35Clipboard.
22:35I'm going to drop a play.
22:36I'm back.
22:37And if you look at her whole career, and I shared with our group an article that was
22:41written about 12 years ago about her journey, this woman is an absolute fighter.
22:49She's fought at every stop from high school to walking on at UCLA, multiple torn ACLs.
22:57You go to Europe to play.
22:58You end up coaching.
22:59You lose your gig.
23:00You coach somewhere else.
23:01You coach men.
23:02You coach women.
23:02You come back.
23:03She is an unbelievable lifer.
23:05I can't wait to talk to her.
23:06And that defense is her personality.
23:08That's how, like, they, that's hard to be on.
23:10She doesn't sleep.
23:11Okay.
23:12She doesn't want to go out.
23:13She doesn't want to do anything.
23:14The ultimate, ultimate gym rep.
23:16Yep.
23:16No doubt.
23:17When's Closell?
23:18Is that tomorrow?
23:19Tomorrow.
23:19Yeah.
23:19I can't wait.
23:20We'll do Sloreth at four and Natalie at three.
23:22That's a power hour.
23:23Stink.
23:24Oh, yeah.
23:24Stink.
23:24Yep.
23:25What does Stink think about this offensive line?
23:27He thinks very highly of everything going on with this team right now.
23:30Stink.
23:30He's always thought highly of everything Shanahan related.
23:33Man, it's true.
23:34Kyle's best day may be, I know it's early, but again, I was like, the window may be shut,
23:39but his best day may be upon him.
23:42Those O-linemen will fight you about whether the zero sacks is a quarterback stat or an O-line stat.
23:49Wow.
23:50I can't wait to hear that.
23:52By the way, Guru and I, we're sickos.
23:54We'll be locked in some Warriors preseason.
23:57And no, it's not the Lake of Checks.
23:59It's because there's a lot of chatter about the Doves.
24:01Just one preseason day.
24:02I want to hear body shaming.
24:05We're talking about Gaxle.
24:06No, that's on the Internet.
24:07I didn't say it.
24:09It came to me.
24:09I mean, I'm not one to talk, but that's the Internet.
24:12And then you get Gaxle and Ponce money and all this.
24:15It's strange.
24:15You actually did say it because I wouldn't even have known it.
24:19And then you said something about Draymond Green in a T-shirt.
24:21No, he was at the –
24:22Oh, yes.
24:23Yeah, that took off.
24:24That ain't me.
24:25I only knew about it because you told me about it.
24:28Yeah, because it came to me because the Internet's going crazy on it.
24:31What's your take, though, on whether this is just all too much too soon for Gaxle?
24:36Because I've been thinking about this, too.
24:38What's your take?
24:39My take is valid.
24:41It has nothing to do with the young man,
24:43but it's almost an indictment on what's around him or what's not around him.
24:48Like, we are like, dude, you've got to be the four-place hitter
24:50and 100 RBIs and 30 homers, and he might do it.
24:54But I'm just like, that's a lot of pressure.
24:56He's 24, which sounds like the new 34 in the NBA.
25:00But I just – what if I told you I'm uncomfortable?
25:03Like, that's too much on him.
25:05And there's a lot of pressure playing next to Steph, Draymond, Underski.
25:08There's going to be a dude you didn't see in college every night coming to shoot.
25:12Exactly.
25:13And it's almost like they're desperate for a young player to pop, too.
25:16Because Pods has been good.
25:18The rhetoric about Pods, like, he's been solid.
25:21Like, some of the dialogue about him is just stupid,
25:24especially when you look at his last six weeks last season.
25:26But the pressure on Gaxle to perform at a high level, being the pick.
25:31Like, this organization, they can't have another first-round pick fail.
25:35Not a lottery pick like this, because Pods wasn't in a lottery.
25:37Well, that's it.
25:38I think it's the first lottery pick in, what, five years?
25:41Oh, here we go.
25:41And so I think it feels like a new toy on Christmas,
25:46and everybody is so, so focused on it.
25:49That's not – the excitement about it doesn't get me.
25:52What gets me is the way the coaches and veteran players are fawning over
25:57how good he is and how thoughtful he is and smart he is and this, that, and the other.
26:02And I'm like, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green do not teammate like this in the media.
26:09And that's what's – I'm like, wow.
26:11Interesting.
26:12Either he's amazing or, yeah, maybe there's a little desperation mixed in.
26:17You know what that would be, right?
26:18I do.
26:18I do.
26:19What would it be, Mark?
26:20It would be a desperation sensation.
26:22Don't make me wait for it.
26:23God, I wanted to make you work a little bit.
26:25We're just getting started.
26:26It's a Tuesday.
26:28Exactly.
26:28I love it, dudes.
26:28Don't look at me like that, man.
26:30I love you, man.
26:30Whatever.
26:31I didn't know you were fearful of deals.
26:33I did, dude.
26:33Who is it?
26:34He's going to be just looking like four different times.
26:35He's the Natalie Nicasse radio host.
26:38Yesterday he told me, welcome home.
26:39He's a bear cat.
26:40And then he comes in here as soon as the studio in the all-blacks jersey.
26:44I go out to the studio.
26:45I'm looking at Grady Savage.
26:46And dudes is just mugging me.
26:47He does that every day, Bonte.
26:48Act like he listens to the show.
26:50No, but when you said you gave him the family deal that you give all of us at the game
26:55house, I'm like, you did that for Diz.
26:57That's awesome.
26:58And then Diz wants mommy's number.
26:59Don't watch your free night up.
27:00Watch your free night up.
27:01Damn, Diz.
27:01He's still looking for the 10 digits.
27:03And you call me out for the all-blacks jersey?
27:07If I come in tomorrow with my all-whites jersey, then what?
27:11Exactly.
27:12That's not the clean white jersey.
27:13Come on.
27:13I'm going to say clean white jersey, Diz.
27:16That's what they call their soccer team.
27:18Yes, it's all-blacks.
27:19They're all-whites.
27:21Even though they're not all-white, whatever.
27:23I'm fired on 95.7 The Game.
27:26Have a good show, guys.
27:27Hey, it's Dan Dibbley.
