A ground report highlights the voter mood ahead of assembly by-polls in Tamil Nadu's Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies. In Madurantakam, women farmers expressed disappointment over the non-fulfilment of the promised 2,500 rupees Magalir Urumai Thogai financial assistance scheme, months after TVK assumed office. While the absence of PMK support adds uncertainty alongside local Vanniyar voter dynamics, strong pro-party sentiment still positions Madurantakam as advantageous for TVK. In contrast, Dharapuram remains a tight three-cornered contest with AIADMK holding a potential edge. Meanwhile, high-profile campaigning across both seats has witnessed intense personal clashes ahead of Friday's election results.

00:00I'll bring in Anaga Keshav to understand what really is the standout factor in Madhurantakam.
00:05The other seat that's up for Bipuls, that's very close to Chennai.
00:08But Anaga, you know, in Madhurantakam where there's a 1-hour vote and you have no PMK factor, who does
00:14that really help?
00:18In fact, I was in Madhurantakam a couple of days back and I had a chance to speak to a
00:22lot of women farmers.
00:23And particularly what I picked up from that is that they're quite disappointed about the Maghiler Urumai Togai scheme.
00:29TVK before coming to power had promised 2,500 rupees for women, but now it's been close to four months,
00:35right?
00:35Ever since the TVK has come to power and still the 2,500 has still not been given.
00:41So therefore, that remains the biggest disappointment, you know, the women farmers of Madhurantakam.
00:46And this coupled with the fact, like you mentioned, that the PMK has not really extended support to any party.
00:52That could play out in the minds of all those people and might turn against TVK.
00:57But I also picked up a lot of pro-TVK sentiment in Madhurantakam.
01:02So when we compare between Madhurantakam and Darapuram, Madhurantakam looks more of a breeze for TVK than a Darapuram.
01:10Darapuram is still sort of a three-cornered fight with AIA-DMK still possibly having an edge.
01:14But for TVK in particular, whether they'll really be able to scale up that disappointment of not really fulfilling the
01:212,500 rupees scheme so far, that still remains a question mark in Madhurantakam.
01:26But the disappointment still lingers particularly in the minds of women.
01:30You know, in Madhurantakam, it'll largely be advantage TVK.
01:33Darapuram, still anyone's game, honestly.
01:36So we'll have to see what really happens.
01:37Friday is when we'll get those results.
01:39But like I've said, you know, in the last few days, the last few weeks, every big political leader has
01:46touched down in these two seats to campaign.
01:49And what's been rather unfortunate is also the ugly personal fights that's gotten rather out of hand during these elections.
01:56What do I mean?
01:57Here's a glimpse.
