08:57Leferriere breaks it up on the poke check.
09:00Well, this is just an excellent poke check here.
09:02And that is not easy in a high-danger situation.
09:05As a defender, you've got to have the timing and the reach of your stick just right.
09:09And he disrupts that chance perfectly.

16:57We're about to start period two here.
17:00But partner, before we do, what have you seen from this one so far?
17:03Los Angeles has got to turn this thing around.
17:05I mean, there's plenty of hockey to be played.
17:06But if that's the way they're going to play the rest of the way, they've got no chance in this
17:09game.
17:10They're trailing already.
17:11And they haven't had the puck on the puck.
17:12And we're going to have an icing here as the whistle blows.

25:02I mean, that is a slashing minor.
25:04And it is obvious that the day is 24 hours, Gucci.
25:06He's going to the penalty box for two.
25:28Ozone faceoff about to commence.
25:30First power play chance of this tilt.
25:33In a tie game,
25:34this is where that number one power play
25:35can really flex a little bit.
25:37First chance of the night for them.
25:38And you know this group loves the chance
25:40to grab the lead.

30:14Oh!
30:19Oh!
30:19Oh!
30:19Oh!
30:20Oh!
30:21Oh!
30:33Yeah, and on the replay,
30:34this all starts off at odd man rush.
30:36And when you get numbers like that,
30:38boy, you can turn in a hurry.
30:39Oh!
30:41Oh!
30:45Oh!
30:46Oh!
30:47Oh!
30:48Oh!
30:49Oh!
30:50Oh!
30:52Oh!
31:09The Kings have control off the draw,
31:11and we stay right with the flow here.
31:14Nice little feed.
31:16And a nice boat check there.
31:18And he quickly moves it to Chilorn.
31:24And that's taken by Miramanov.
31:28Cut in.
31:29Blocked away by Kemper.
31:32Can't connect there.
31:33Comes outside the zone.
31:34They'll have to challenge accepted.
31:36Here we go.
31:37That shot on the goalie after the whistle
31:39will do it every time.
31:40Once that challenge is accepted,
31:42Bucci,
31:42everybody knows what's coming next.
31:54Oh!
31:55And he tags him flush.
31:57Down and out.
31:57That last punch landed clean.
31:59And once he hit,
32:00this one was finished.
32:15Well, there's certainly a buzz in the air after that.
32:18Team's settling in now.
32:20Back to playing hockey.
32:21Here we go.
32:23Crisp short pass to Dowdy.
32:25Whistle blows.
32:26Offside is the call.
32:28And the faceoff will come outside the zone.
32:32Closing seconds of this frame.
32:34It's 2-1 in a tight tilt.
32:39We are in the dying seconds of period number two now.
32:43And he feeds it now to D'Angelo.
32:49Back to the point here.
32:51Here's the shot.
32:52And that drive gets blocked en route.
32:55And that's moved quickly to Mikheyev.
32:58Nice read by Ward.
33:02St. Petersburg's picked it up along the wall.
33:05Now a quick pass to Lorenz.
33:12And 40 minutes of this game is in the books.
33:16See what kind of adjustments both of these teams make the rest of the way.
33:19We're back with more.
33:21Third period action ahead.
33:23Right after this.
33:25Like this.
33:28Come on.
33:29Back to the floor.
33:51Come on.
37:24We haven't possessed it long enough to create anything offensively, and when you're chasing
37:27it all night, you're chasing the game, too.
37:29Nice read.
37:30Interception.
37:33McKay, can't connect there.
37:35Deflected.
37:35The crew have the puck along the board.
37:39Takes the puck now and looking to make a play.
37:45That's five for him this season.
37:51They're pulling ahead, three to one.
38:07Boy, he's a good position.
38:08Boy, he's a good position.
38:08He got a piece of that shot, but he's just too hard, and it nips off of him and right
38:12into
38:12the net.
38:31The crew have been pushing for that two-goal lead, and now they have it.
38:36Let's see if they keep playing on their toes the rest of the way.
38:40Face off one, and here they come.
38:42By field.
38:44By field.
38:45Sticks saved by Soderblom.
38:48That's a tremendous stop.
38:49That's where shooters can do a lot of damage, but the goaltender tracks it beautifully.
38:54Lorenz.
38:55Puck taken there by Lorenz.
39:02Makes the save.
39:05And he quickly goes to Panarin.
39:07Los Angeles takes it now along the wall.
39:11Kempe.
39:13Somehow.
39:14Someway.
39:15That one stays out.
39:16Gets the whistle, and he'll take the face off.
39:20Oh, what a momentum grabber for that team.
39:22He makes a save that nobody can make.
39:25That just changed everything.
39:38Early goings of this period.
39:40Two-goal spread on the board.
39:44The Kings win the draw.
39:46They got the puck.
39:47Save!
39:49The crew have picked it up along the board.
39:54Good little dish there.
39:57Tucker keeps it on with the glove.
40:04Soderblom has really controlled the temperature of this game by making those big saves at the
40:08moments you absolutely need one.
40:09There's a calming effect that comes from that, because every save like this can change the
40:13feel on the bench.
40:14All of a sudden, your group gets a little more composed, a little more confident, and starts
40:18feeding off it.
40:29St. Petersburg's looking good here early in the third period.
40:32They're still getting shots on goal.
40:37St. Petersburg's got the puck back along the boards, and they carry in their own zone.
40:52Can't get it off.
40:54Picked off.
40:55Good read.
40:56The Kings are pressuring the puck just as they planned.
41:00Quickly ahead to Nyquist.
41:04Nyquist!
41:04Blocked aside by Kemper!
41:07What a smart save there.
41:09Not only does he make the stop,
41:10he steers it right to the corner and out of danger.
41:18Lots of hockey left to be played.
41:203-1 after the last tally.
41:26St. Petersburg has won the draw.
41:30In front!
41:32Save!
41:38Kemper's come up with a massive stop on that last sequence.
41:41When you look at this again here on the replay,
41:43you can see that's a dangerous chance in tight.
41:45And he is just so composed
41:46and is able to make an outstanding save to keep it out.
41:54Here come the center iceman.
41:56Bucket to bucket, eyeball to eyeball for this face-off.
42:01St. Petersburg's won the draw.
42:02They have the puck.
42:07Can't quite connect there.
42:09Doughty.
42:10And he sends it across to Laferriere.
42:13Save!
42:15St. Petersburg's got possession along the boards.
42:21Can't quite connect on that pass.
42:25Quickly now to Lawton.
42:29Laferriere.
42:29Picked off by Smith.
42:35Towards the net.
42:36And that's knocked aside.
42:38Los Angeles comes away with it along the wall.
42:42Doughty.
42:43And now he pushes that across to Anderson.
42:45And he pushes that across to Lee.
42:50The crew have gained control along the wall.
42:54And now he moves it to Benoit.
42:57Benoit!
42:58Slot saved by Kemper!
43:01Benoit is showing you exactly what you need
43:04after dropping the gloves earlier.
43:05Get back involved.
43:06Get to your game.
43:08And generate something offensively.
43:09Nice save there.
43:11Slides the puck over to Lee.
43:15The crew have the puck in their own end.
43:19St. Petersburg's got possession now
43:22in the defensive end.
43:23Looking to bring it up.
43:25And that's picked up by Bayreuther.
43:28Knocked away by Mikheyev.
43:30Shot!
43:31Steered away!
43:33Steered aside with the glove!
43:35Big one there!
43:37You talk about battle level.
43:38There it is.
43:39Making one save
43:39and then turning right around for another.
43:42Los Angeles picks it up
43:44along the boards.
43:49Both checked away by Benoit.
43:53And a penalty coming up
43:55as the whistle blows.
43:58Well, the puck's nowhere near him.
44:00That's an interference call.
44:01It's an easy one.
44:01He's going to go to the penalty box
44:02for two minutes.
44:26L.A.'s got another chance
44:28with the man advantage.
44:29A power play opportunity
44:31as we get set here
44:32for the face-off.
44:34Yeah, and that earlier power play goal
44:36has given them confidence.
44:37So now they get another opportunity
44:39right off the draw
44:39to go back to work.
44:41St. Petersburg's picked it up
44:42along the wall.
44:44Goalie comes out
44:44to play the puck.
44:51The Kings with the puck now.
44:54Fiala.
44:56And it's a quick pass to Kempe.
44:58And he slides it quickly to lock.
45:03A good old-fashioned fight
45:05for possession along the wall
45:06as they try and dig out that puck.
45:10And that puck is sent out.
45:16The Kings have it now.
45:18Fiala.
45:22Quick take-to-take to Clark.
45:27Laferriere!
45:28Lawton!
45:29Out of the way!
45:31What a save there.
45:32Shooter in the low slot
45:33and the goalie comes up
45:34with a huge stop.
45:36St. Petersburg's been enjoying
45:37their current stint at home.
45:39But it's time to hit the road
45:40after this one.
45:42Need a getaway?
45:43Check him out on the road.
45:44Ticket's still available.
45:46So we'll get sent to drop the puck.
45:48And the power play will resume.
45:50Stay!
45:52The whistle blows.
45:54Gets the stoppage.
45:55And he'll take the faceoff.
46:00St. Petersburg's got to like
46:01their consistent effort in this one.
46:03That was the plan.
46:04Get the lead.
46:05Protect it with aggressiveness.
46:06And that's exactly what they're doing.
46:09Hope checks it away.
46:11Hope checks it away.
46:13Move quickly to Cunningham.
46:15And that pass goes astray.
46:21Pass disrupted by the stick.
46:22And that one might be
46:24the best of them all.
46:26Oh boy, that is a terrific save.
46:28A high-quality chance
46:29from right out front.
46:31Blocked away by Kemper!
46:33Hope checks it away
46:35off the forecheck.
46:36The Kings have picked it up
46:37along the boards.
46:40And they circle him back.
46:42And now he passes up to Panarin.
46:44And he quickly moves it
46:46to Byfield.
46:48Scooped up on the point.
46:50Byfield!
46:51Just snicked his equipment.
46:54Sends it now down below the goal line.
46:56Broken up.
46:57Nice read by Benoit.
46:59St. Petersburg's no longer a man down.
47:02The PK unit does its job.
47:03And we're back to even strength.
47:05That was really important work there
47:07by the penalty killers.
47:08They're up here in the third.
47:09But you just need composure
47:10and commitment.
47:11And they gave their team
47:12exactly that.
47:13By getting through
47:14and keeping control of the lead.
47:16St. Petersburg's got the puck back
47:18along the boards.
47:23Shot barely got a piece of that one.
47:27Kemper's made the save
47:28and steered that puck
47:28right to the corner.
47:29A smart play to keep it out of danger.
47:32And the puck is covered up.
47:33The whistle blows.
47:35And we'll get a break here
47:36to our next faceoff.
47:38Gotta love the speed of this game.
47:40Great passing.
47:41End-to-end action.
47:42It's like a track beat out there.
47:43Both teams trading great chances
47:44after great chances.
47:53The line's been calling the players in.
47:56About to drop the puck.
47:59L.A.'s won the faceoff
48:00and they take possession.
48:02The crew have the puck.
48:04Save!
48:06Play is stopped.
48:07We'll regroup
48:08and get ready for another faceoff.
48:12St. Petersburg's got everything
48:13in their favor right now.
48:15They have the lead
48:15midway through the final frame.
48:17And they're still
48:18getting shots on net.
48:21Chisholm!
48:22Rockstar!
48:38From the goaltender's point of view,
48:40this is such a tough one
48:41because once he drops
48:42into the butterfly,
48:43he's trying to seal up the bottom
48:44and get as large as he can.
48:46But with bodies in the lane
48:47taking away his sight line,
48:49that puck just works its way
48:50from the crew and pizza.
49:00St. Petersburg's had a great mindset
49:02in this game.
49:04Playing with the lead
49:05but scoring at will.
49:10Neutral zone draw one
49:12and the puck is theirs.
49:14The Kings gain possession.
49:16Biala!
49:17Save!
49:18The crew have picked it up
49:20along the boards.
49:22Puck scooped up along the wall
49:23by Chisholm.
49:25And he gives it over to Tucker.
49:31Has the puck now.
49:33Gathered at the point now.
49:35Shoots it from a tough angle.
49:38Los Angeles has possession
49:40near the boards.
49:43Quick dish to Moore.
49:46Backhand!
49:47Sweet stop by Soderblom!
49:50Boy, that's sharp goaltending
49:52right there.
49:52It comes from the low slot
49:53and the goalie stays right with it,
49:55makes the read,
49:56and shuts the door completely.
49:58To Lenny is.
50:00Quickly up to Lee.
50:04Ward!
50:05Oh my goodness!
50:06What a save that was!
50:08Puck cradled by Chisholm.
50:11Denied!
50:14Hangs on to that puck.
50:15We'll get ready for another face-off
50:18as the whistle blows.
50:20Oh, that kind of save
50:21just changes the momentum of the game.
50:22Listen to the crowd.
50:24Listen to the pitch.
50:25Holy jumper!
50:26That's one of the greatest saves
50:27I've ever seen!
50:31Great stages here in this one.
50:33It's 4-1 in this one.
50:38Face-off is one
50:39in the offensive zone.
50:41St. Petersburg's got the puck
50:43now behind the net.
50:46And that's scooped up
50:47by Hustedinoff.
50:48And he slides it quickly
50:49over to Smith.
50:55Los Angeles is turned with it.
50:58Ease the puck across to Clark.
51:00Lee
51:01quickly up to Dumoulin.
51:04He carries it into the neutral zone.
51:08Lee
51:09timely pocheck there
51:11by D'Angelo.
51:13St. Petersburg's got the puck now
51:14looking to bring it up the ice.
51:17Scooped up behind the net.
51:20Puck's picked up along the wall
51:22by Smith.
51:23L.A.'s coming away with it
51:25in the defensive zone.
51:27That's picked up by D'Angelo.
51:30Aggressive pocheck there
51:31on the forecheck.
51:33Dishes it to Smith.
51:34Nice play!
51:36And the save is made!
51:41Smith!
51:42And that hits the paddle!
51:45That pass just out of reach.
51:48St. Petersburg's come away with it.
51:53He's got six on the gear now!
51:57A commanding lead now!
51:59Five to one!
52:09This is all about finishing one job
52:11and immediately getting to the next one.
52:13The hit gains possession
52:14and that's the key to the entire sequence.
52:16Once he gets that puck
52:17there's no panic to his game.
52:18He makes a calm, smart play out of it
52:20and that's why he'll get rewarded
52:22with the assist on the goal.
52:33This is a curious one here.
52:35They're going to make a change in goal
52:36at a pretty odd time.
52:38Yeah, it really is strange.
52:39We didn't get much of an indication for it
52:41but they're making the switch anyway.
52:46The crew have looked great all game
52:48in this one.
52:49They really haven't slowed down
52:50a bit.
52:51Third period
52:51and they are pouring it off.
52:57Los Angeles controls the draw
52:59and play continues.
53:02It's the final minute of the third
53:03and this lopsided game
53:05is almost over.
53:07Taken there now by Miramanov.
53:09Nicely up to Lorenz.
53:13Lorenz!
53:14Payne.
53:15Gets the whistle.
53:17Play is stopped.
53:18And we'll get ready
53:19for another face-off.
53:27Time is beginning to run down
53:29on the frame.
53:30Four-goal advantage here.
53:33St. Petersburg's won the Ozone draw.
53:40He has it now along the point.
53:43He quickly goes to Mikheyev.
53:46Save!
53:47Just a piece of that one.
53:49That's intercepted.
53:51Nice read there.
53:54Trap and save!
53:56Trap and save!
53:57Trap and save!
53:57Trap and save with the glove!
53:59Absolute box office!
54:03St. Petersburg's going to look back at this game
54:06as really their model game.
54:08Out shooting on their toes
54:10and of course,
54:11a comfortable victory.
54:12Let's see if they can finish it off.
54:14Arm up!
54:15Delayed penalty coming.
54:17Looked like a slashing from here.
54:19There's the whistle.
54:21Seemed pretty obvious,
54:22but here's the official announcement.
54:24Boy, this is going to be a tough one.
54:26In fact,
54:27I think there's no chance whatsoever.
54:28Trailing badly
54:29and in the last little times of the game,
54:31they're not coming back from this one.
54:46Offensive zone face-off one.
54:50The crowd on their feet.
54:53As time winds down,
54:55you can feel the love here in the arena.
55:03at the back end of this period.
55:04And it's 5-1 in the game.
55:11The Kings win the draw
55:12and take possession.
55:14And a great block shorthanded.
55:16It takes courage and sacrifice
55:18to get in front of a shot like that.
55:20And there's the final one.
55:22And in this one,
55:23it's going to hit
55:24and through the box.
55:26St. Petersburg's puck possession
55:27really set the tone tonight
55:29and carried them all the way through.
55:31Well, that's what they said
55:32they wanted to do
55:33before this game started.
55:34They wanted to win battles,
55:36create chances,
55:37manage the puck in their own end,
55:38and they did all of that tonight
55:40for a well-earned victory.
55:42Well, another exciting one here tonight.
55:44Thanks so much for watching
55:45for Darren Pang
55:46and everybody
55:47from our amazing crew at EA Sports.
